Dudley: A Distinguished Thread for Gentlemen Pugilists

The fuck is up with this. Why so many TC’s? Or are these just all his normal combos (links included) list as Target Combos? And if there’re doing that, are they going to do the same for other characters? Example: Guiles cr. LP, into cr. MP = Target Combo.

I don’t know…why so many?

8 target combos, blow me  I didn’t really play SF3 much, did he have that many in 2I or 3S?

Yeah, really. It’s ridiculous. Guile desperately needs tools. And Fuerte could use a TC that actually works instead of the garbage he has now.

Dudley has always been king of target combos.

He has always had a fuckload of them. Same for Ibuki.

Did you ever play Street Fighter 3? He had a ton of target combos back then and yes they are different like target combo number 7 he had in third strike and the heavy punch was a special two hit upper that you couldn’t normally throw.

EDIT: 3S target combos reference

I play and own 3S. My beef with the TC’s is not Dudley (More power to the man)…I’m getting to the point Dudley and his 3S brethren have lots TC’s and most of the SFIV cast have very few in general…I’m wondering if the rest of the cast has more TC’s in Super to help them out.

Not every character in 3s had ton of TCs though. So why does the rest of the SSF4 cast need more TC’s to help them out?

The characters were designed with two very different engines in mind. Don’t count on other characters getting much more stuff. At the most, Guile will get a few of Remy’s tricks like the dive kick.

Well maybe that is why Dudley and Ibuki are being rumored to be Sagat tier. I don’t know how Ibuki will play but honestly Dudley’s play style requires him to have target combos because he can’t do anything from about half a screen away and some of his normals are pretty slow. So unless he under went some changes to fix those problems in SSFIV then he is still gonna need those target combos, even if some of them were useless.

Also it kind of makes sense because he is a boxer and all he should be able to do is punch combos. I’m hoping his machine gun blow isn’t as easy to beat out as it was in 3rd strike. If you didn’t combo into that thing it was most likely going to be beaten out or punished.

Target Combo’s aren’t exactly extremely useful in SF4 either though…

Options. Dudley has options. Some character just don’t have them. I’m not complaining…merely question the situation. Dudley was not user friendly in 3S…it just makes me wonder what Capcom is making Dudley out to be in Super, and the Ibuki and Makoto as well. These many TC’s…will he be just a hard to use? Or based off of the SFIV…will he be user friendly? I don’t know…I just don’t see faults in the 3S crew right now.

Today’s fact - Supplemental:

Target combos for Dudley are as useful as they are for Ken.

Except that cr. short, cr. strong, cr. fierce one!

Haha, I knew it…

Bugger :frowning:

Has the input for Machinegun Blow changed? If I was reading that SF3 video right it was a QC motion but according to the movelist he has no QC motions now, all HC motions and one DP motion. </noob>

I’m pretty sure it was always hcf/b for Dudley. Only QC motions were supers.

Hahaha nice…thunderbolt doesn’t need a charge. lololol.

I see a lot of “236” (QCF) in that Dudley combo video shrug

Hmm… well it shows a white down arrow then a black up arrow for Thunderbold, could the white arrow be a new way of saying to charge a direction?

Good eye, chap!

Or maybe it means to hit down while with dignity?
