If you ignore a character you enjoy because of tiers, you suck.
That’s bizarre, i dabbled in Akuma for a while and I started learning Chun today… Could there be a connection?
I always mained characters that fit my playstyle or that I ended up learning eventually. Back when I played CVS2 competitively, people would hate on my skills because I did “pretty combos” but understood how to fight people well. People always talked shit behind me and got happy when I would rarely miss an A-groove CC. LOL, that makes no sense–I got top 10 and up consistently at my arcade…I didn’t WIN tournaments but I got hated on for setting up opportunities to punish people and because I wasn’t “lazy” about it I got ridiculed for it. I looked back on and still look back on it as pretty funny but I look forward to potential hate in SSF4 if I actually return to playing tournaments.

I dont think it is very common in the sf community but super smash bros brawl is really bad when it comes to stuff like this. For example every friend and their mother who plays smash bros competitivly tried out metaknight JUST because he was good. ALL OF THEM now main metaknight. and that shit is happening even in the upper ranks like m2k quitting his marth for metaknight. Its freaking ridiculous. Now i main peach and mario. Peach is abysmal in brawl and i still wiped the floor with them usually three stocked. Melee didnt suffer this people stuck with their characters through thick and thin, and if people moved to the top tiers they got their ass whopped by the real players. Anyway im just saying the brawl community suffers moar of this Tier *** imbalance than you guys do. Thats why I just play melee lol…
I picked up dudley a few months ago and he goes perfectly with my main urien

Everyone is getting new stuff. I main sakura (although honestly her representation in 4 did make me a tad angry, as that spinkick of hers used to be so much better for anti air). My girl Sakura may move up a tier or 2, same with (hilariously) Dan. everyone is getting new moves, new tweaks, rebalancing… The whole 9 yards. While Capcom reps have said our old skils from 4 will not be wasted, everyone has new tools and most of those still have yet to be revealed.
But this is the Dudley thread, so let me act more the role of the gentleman and get to the point of the matter. The teir list as we all know it is about to have what may be some fairly drastic changesDudley may not be top tier. Sagat might even not be top teir anymore (I doubt that but I’m not afraid of Sagats anyway). Everyone is getting more powerful. I’m just happy Dudley is in because he was a character from 3 who wasn’t a clone of another character from the series who I was able to actually play with semi ok. No matter what tier he is I will play him. And anyone who plays against a top tier player and blames the tier list for their loss really should not be playing fighting games in the first place.
Yeah that’s the CVS2 I liked. Not lame sit on down back typical east coast style CVS2. :lol:

What the fuck are you talking about? At a Melee tourney, you are lucky if you have 7 charecters at all, at a Brawl tourney, you have people using all top tiers (5 charecters) and high tiers (I think 5 here too) and some mid tiers like peach. There is much more diversity in Brawl in every reguards EXCEPT for the final matches at nationals, which are always filled with Metaknights because he’s Metaknight.

I choose a character by whose playstyle I enjoy the most. While seemingly I have chose Dudley, this is only wishful thinking…only time will tell, but he looks great as I expected.
In Alpha it worked, in 4 it did not. I adjusted. Really that was seriously my only complaint in that conversion, could have been so much worse.

Startup on cr.Hp is a lot better, so I prefer that over shunpu anyday.
You must be talking about Alpha 2 because A3, sakura had s.lp, s.mp, s.hp, s.hk for anti air. I’ve never seen shunpukyaku used as an anti air.
I can give to shits less that Dudley is high tier. We should play Dudley because of how great and unique he is not because he is an underdog. A gentleman should always be prepared to fight all comers at all hours of the day.
What is Dudley’s Super Art? I know that his ultras are Rolling Thunder and Corkscrew Cross. Is Jet Uppercut his super move?
