That shouldn’t matter. It was FULL ultra. Abel had around 300 HP left. Rolling thunder at 70% scaling then left him barely alive. That means it should do around 420 dmg, let’s say 480 because of the low HP scaling. And that’s just too low for a punish only ultra imo. But after some quick testing in training mode, it might be a little over 500. Still too low to make it usable imo.
it isn’t like you’re gonna be hitting 1 frame links everytime. just being it’s possible doesn’t make it broken.
It’s a weird 1 frame link, because there’s a delay after the overhead hits then there’s a 1 frame link to Roundhouse. Timing is tough. You can do crouching Jabs instead but it pushes you back further and you won’t be able to juggle certain things.

Holy shit. So instead of a Sagat type character that gets explosive damage occasionally and off opponent’s mistakes, you get a character with really good consistent damage when he so much as breathes on you. At the end of the day nonsense is still nonsense Capcom.

dudley won’t possess one of the highest HPs in the game, an uppercut FADC that escapes pretty much every situation, f+lk/f+hk kara bullshit, a st.hk that beats focus and AAs people from a mile away, and a tiger knee that stuffs 95% of all buttons in the game and also frame traps people, either.

Dudley will have his normals for gdlk frame traps and BTW nearly everyone in the game has a move or a button that allows them to deal with TK. TK traps are actually hella overrated and only a handful of chars can’t deal with them. If Sagat ge’s huge damage it’s because he flat out guessed right or he got an AA with TU into Ultra. Dudley won’t have to force any type of reaction. If he is close and you are blocking then you are in danger. Sagat doesn’t get that kind of consistency in his damage, which is my main point. Two different types of chars, but silly in their own ways.

Dudleys’ win screen disappoints me. Not because it isn’t good, because it is, but because Capcom missed out on an opportunity for ludicrous sums of dignity. After smelling the rose, Dudley should turn and throw the rose over his shoulder toward the screen, with the action freezing with the rose approaching the camera, ink splats highlighting the roses’ movement through the air, Dudley striking his classic rose throw pose in the background.
I agree with you to a certain extent. I just figure top tier dudley will be less silly than top tier sagat. people aren’t gonna be as frustrated losing half their life bars to a tight overhead link combo than a goddamn uppercut FADC combo, is all.
I think it’s embarrassing that when he does his “you have no dignity” win pose, he raises his arm in the exact motion to throw a rose, but he doesn’t throw shit, just does a fucking fist pump.
