every dubstep song sounds the same. reminds me a lot of the screamo fad music

Can I ask why so many people find dubstep appealing? I’m legit curious. I mean, I’m a big fan of electronic music, but when it comes to dubstep I really can’t distinguish a song from another track unless its a remix of an already made song.
It also insults my ears.

But when you get a hold of a good dubstep track, it’s really good…

Dubstep is not all the same. Its been here for years but the artist changed the style of the genre. Dubstep was never about wob wob wob or “the drop” at first but then it it just got popular. Listen to Burial and people say its not dubstep (modern day dubstep). Its like rap music once something new hits the water and is popular, everyone jumps in it.
edit: I honestly hope the generic bass drop fad goes away so we can get more deep dub vibes (but drops are fun for adrenaline but damn not every track).

Theres a few diff branches of dubstep. Alot sounds the same but alot of any dance genre sounds the same too. You gotta sift through for the GEMS.

I gotta admit, I don’t like dubstep. I’ve been listening to electronic music since I was in diapers, and this shit really doesn’t do it for me at all. Like that post above me, i find it noisy for the sake of making noise. It’s like how I imagined in the 90’s what crappy ass music of the future would sound like. Industrial/Glitch electronica, with kids in goggles like breathing fire and riding hoverboards and shit. I can respect how into it so many people are nowadays, I just don’t personally like the music.
Your listening to the wrong songs, its was not originally just noise, like what I post earlier he stated it was to just to get the crowd hype but then they took it to another level. At first I disliked dubstep and preferred dnb, until I found some songs that wasn’t pure noise. Hopefully it this “brostep” will stop or turn into another genre.
I think brostep has its place man when its the right producers it sounds great. Theres alot of copycat dudes out there who do just look for the brashest sound possible and give you a one note bassline which is wack.

Theres so much you can do with the basic structure of it. Thats what is making it thrive currently. Dubstep Genre snobs need to chill. Just because your particular favourite form of the music is not blowing up as much as brostep doesnt mean you gotta rant off on each youtube video and call for skrillex blood. Also, people who just straight up dont like it off the bat dont need to but to generalize it as a “bunch of wobbles” is kind of stupid and like saying that rock is “just a bunch of guitars.”

most of the dubstep I hear is really bad…there are a few gems out there though, but most songs are just really repetitive. WUB WUB WUB
a year back I was feeling it but then for some odd reason it brought me back into my love for underground hip hop beats (fat jon,nujables,cloud9 etc)
Dubstep is hype music for the time being. Eventually it will go back to its roots. But Speaking of hype I saw Nero, Rednek and Grand masta Flash last night. Didnt know immortal technique was performing in the other room that same night. I regret it because I thought my exam was on Wednesday, but it was today… two of them. Looks like I wont be seeing mord fustang,diplo or datsik,korn, downlink this month
