Dual Shock 4 PadHack Thread - aka you should padhack the hfc4 pad instead

Thank you for this thread. It has confirmed that I dont have what it takes to padhack lol. Crossing my fingers for a firmware update, or a new PCB before GG Xrd.

For the start and select do you bridge both points together and then wire that up to the button?

Yes because the wire is secured better when its soldered to the two tiny contacts. Just make sure you are bridging the corner of the button with the exposed contact that’s aligned with it. You’ll notice that there is another exposed contact spot that is ground which you do not want to bridge.

Got it. Ill post some pics later tonight or tomorrow. I made a seperate island pcb for the two l1/r1 buttons. Seems kinda weird but thats all I could come up with my limitted electronics knowledge

Updated the second post with some wiring stuff. Prob use the third post to do FAQ’s and other misc info.

i’m not sure if its the picture, but it looks like you have 10k resistors where your 1k should be lol

they are 10k. I don’t have any 1k on me, but the 10k will work.

By the looks of it, wiring up the touch pad isn’t necessary?

I just remember in one of your earlier mods of the ds4, you had the touch pad wired up on the fightstick pro.

whats the easiest way to swap the l1 r1 with the l2 r2 and still use the controller?

Assuming this is possible…
There is no easy way to do this. You have to cut traces on the PCB and with 30 or 32 gauge wire route those circuits.

so criss crossing the circuits on the pcb “sheet” might work…

its not going to be possible at all. ones are digital and the twos are analog.

I forgot about that.

So you need to reconfigure your controls you need to do it in each game’s settings

I don’t seem to see the second thread, what is the link please?

What second thread?

I wonder if he means the Xbone pad hack thread

Just tackle this padhack…Had a lot of trouble using Gummo’s method with the dead bug circuit for the L1/R1 signals.
I tried all kinds, and brands of general transistors, but none of them seem to work. I was just about to give up until I tried it without the transistors and with only one resistor for each of L1/R1 signals to my surprise it worked perfectly.

pic/circuit please to show proof?

Hi. Newbie here. Just wondering if it’s possible to get both the ps3 sixaxis and DS4 pcbs into one case. I already have Toodle’s sixaxis adapter and I would like to add the DS4 to it. Is this possible?

The sixaxis is not common ground, so no.
You’re better off just sacking the sixaxis and just put in the DS4. The DS4 would let you play wireless on ps4 and wired on ps3.
