Dragon's Dogma (From the director of DMC3)

It’s a new island so I don’t think Gransys (everfall) is being touched.

I think in DD2 there should be a 4 player real time co-op mode where players go into an Everfall type place as their pawns. I think that way we can still get our solo chunks in without soiling the experience.

You don’t need me to hold your hand, do ya?

They would just have to redesign a lot of things about the game to make it co-op. I’m all for it, but I don’t see it happening with this version of Dragon’s Dogma.

True… It could be like Diablo II where enemies would get stronger when there are multiple players in a game…

Once you hit lvl 200 you could pretty much rape everything… Even on Hard mode…

Edit: Hm, didn’t know it was set on another island… Gotta read more on it, I guess…

I think another reason why there is no co-op is because Capcom must think that westerners don’t like monster hunting games, so they made it solely an action adventure game…

Honestly I think it’s because it’s a technical nightmare to have an open world co-op game. Especially one like this. ESPECIALLY.

So I started a clear file yesterday on hard mode, everything is like a OHKO on you unless you’re overleveled. I got rammed by the oxen cart on your way to Gran Soren and I died with full health. Warrior bandits are mini-bosses and ogres take forever to kill. Melee is quite useless until midway (I’m currently at the Wyrm Hunt) since you rarely stagger enemies. Interesting thing to note is that pawns aren’t penalized in hard mode at all so they’re really useful as tanks and damage dealing.<br><div><br></div><div>Other than missing all the loot I’ve gathered in my original file I’m quite enjoying the re-run. Hard mode really makes you shit your pants when the ogre becomes frenzied and chases you forever to OHKO dropkick you.</div>

ARISE ARISEN!

How is Dark Arisen? Is it essentially just DLC for the first one.

I loved Dragon’s Dogma but I’m not sure I’d wanna get back into it unless it were part 2.

Couldn’t find this topic for some reason even after searching for it, but I knew it was around here somewhere.
I never completed the original Dragon Dogma. For some reason, I got really bored of it. Gave this game a 3rd chance with this expansion, having the time of my life. Game is fuckin’ crack, I can’t put it down.

Aside from the extra content and balance changes, I heard Capcom fixed several things that annoyed players in the original… like fast travel. If so, how did they resolve this? I heard they give out unlimited fairystones, but that shit is Clearly limited. However they cost 2,000 gold which isn’t all that much. Have they always been that cheap? I thought they used to be 20,000 (that extra 0), but I dunno, could be wrong.

The new island area was given right off the bat close to the start of the game. I thought it was a main questline or something because they kept bothering you about it as an important waypoint in the starter town, until the cutscene, then the shop on the pier with big ticket items, and getting eaten alive by some super wolves in the first room there.

I wish they made more improvements like the escorting system for waypoints like in Dead Rising. The simple ones for “Go” and “Follow” do not cut it among some trees, debris, items to pick up or boxes to break, changes in elevation that need climbing, 2 pawns, your main pawn, then an NPC. Mostly because this stupid NPC merchant guy got mauled by a Chimera when everyone else was sticking close to me and made it out of the way.

& does anyone know if when you take on a new pawn will your old one put all their extra carried items into your storage bank? I changed pawns once there without getting items off them. And there wasn’t a prompt or anything to say they gave those items back.

EDIT: Title update corrupting some players’ DD/DA save data. Back that shit up.

Too busy with work right now to play for very long. Did some tours of Gransys & checked out the new hairstyles (they suck, but at least I’m now able to sorta make a derpy Maximo to fight alongside my derpy Arthur).

Doesn’t seem like they added anything new within Gransys itself (mind you I only did a few quick treks from corner to corner), so it seems like all the new content is at Bitter Black isle.

I also hired some same-level pawns. One of them had “Grand” Anodyne as a skill, and both had Dragonforged gear with blue/yellow icons rather than the regular red one. Did a little doubletake then.

Come this weekend I’ll probably be free to actually sit down & spend some time with this.

I bought this game recently and i have to say that i am fucking loving it.

Lol, so the ogres are more aggressive against woman and my pawn decides to tell me about it when i am against one with a party full of women

I didn’t realize how popular slutty pawns where. My pawn was Never getting hired. Found some silk panties, equipped them on my pawn, 30 mins later I’m getting friend request from all kinds of random people. Next day, she has all these items to give me. Wtf ??

I think that my pawn will never be hired then

I got the manliest of the pawns. Level 25, and still hasn’t been hired once.

Question, what determinate that some pawns have a price to be hired and others not?

Perhaps is because is only level 25.
My Pawn is at level 25 too btw, i made her a healer since my Arisen is a warrior.

Pawns with Levels above your own current level need RiftCrystals to hire, as far as I can tell.

That explains that some pawns have an exorbitant price since they are level ∞

Telling you guys, slut pawns = 99% chance of getting hired.

But yea… this game is still crack. Ugh, need to train for tournaments. Stop sucking my dick, game!
