I am actually surprised that a lot of people makes loliesque pawns (I am not original damn it >___< )
Sex always sells even in virtual worlds. I hope that in Dragon’s Dogma 2 they have more sexy options for male and female characters. I’m not saying I want “armored bras that give you plus 99 def!” because I love how the thong in Dragon’s Dogma doesn’t do that now. Instead I’d just like a wider variety of sexy attire. Maybe even have the NPCs react different based on how you are dressed. If you try to hit on a monk while wearing a thong he might not like it or if you approach some old dutchchess with your chiseled bare chest she’d be opening up her purse strings!
Thoughts on Bitter Black:
[details=Spoiler]Have spent about 4 hours down there, & I gotta say thus far, as an expansion it’s kinda disappointing. I’ll admit it’s my own fault for ignoring all preview media on it to avoid spoilers, but I was expecting Bitter Black Isle to be just that - an island you could explore, not a fucking dungeon crawl. Worse yet, most every level is just a boring, dark cave (latern all day, err day here), & I’ve even run into some repeats. If everything’s gotta be underground, how 'bout some ice caverns or lava pits, at least use some elements we haven’t already seen in vanilla DD.
But desptie the setting, I’m still having fun playing the game. It’s nice to once again have to go “fuck this” & dig out from enemies I have no chance of beating.
This game is tiiiiight and so is the expansion
Only shitty thing is fighting the UR-dragon and the SHIT CAMERA while climbing monsters/ those annoying spots on the wings.
Saw a Dragon with 7 or 8 healthbars near the Goblin castlestorming, in darkness. Replaced my new more lighted area lantern augment with something else before I set out that way. Had to use a ferrystone to get out of there fast.
Got Mercedes killed on her escort mission from the Inn, she couldn’t handle the bandits near the South Gransys Tome quests, who are pretty tough without Spell buffs. Their mission to go after the 1 bandit or the West thieves stronghold I couldn’t figure out. I stopped the thief in the starting town to finish that part of it, then he’s perched up only at night but runs away when you approach him, and disappears off the map as soon as he goes under the stairs/bridge on the beach. I shot him with these arrows that knockdown with Ranger class and even picked him up again but I couldn’t talk to him. Just went up the mountain and beat all the 90 EXP each weaker than any enemies thief women.
Oh and shooting the boulders on top of the mountain top hills there can get them rolling out of harms way. Thought that was pretty cool. As is the Meteor Spell, Blackheart style rain my Pawn Sorceror has.
I should be getting Dark Arisen in June. Gotta play lots of Resident Evil Revelations for the rest of the month and then it’s back to Gransys! So be on the look out for my pawn who looks like a stocky Michael from good times. What his class will be no one knows…
Damn, was not expecting…
[details=Spoiler]that ol’ Ghosts n’ Goblins “beat the game twice” bit in Dark Arisen. Went back into Bitter Black just for fun (the fact that the monsters actually pose a challenge makes it hard to go back to Gransys). Used up a shit ton of Harspud Sauces & Conqueror’s Periapts just to beat the final boss, only to be surprised with a new cutscene showcasing its “true” form. With no more items & no pawns (they all got sent to hell by the boss), I got peaced out in no time. I’m already a hefty level 146, so right now my best bet to defeat him is to drop the difficulty down back to normal, or look up strategies online, neither of which I really want to resort to just yet.
Best game this gen, imo. Has the expansive content of an RPG, but the stimulating gameplay of an action title.
Level 16, lost in the woods at night. Escorting Quina to the healing springs. Low health, just about out of curatives. Then, somewhere to the east, I hear a chimera growl.
That feeling, fuck.
Anyone feel ambitious enough to start a new thread? Tizoc hasn’t been here in months, it might be nice to have a list of players and pawns in the op for hiring.
I am currently able to fuck the Chimeras without any problem, in fact the only time that i have felt helpless right now is when i ventured to the windy canyon where the thieves just fucked me over and over every time that i was trying to fight them forcing me to return, lol
I am Llv 30+ btw
I have a code to DD: DA from psn but I don’t have the hard drive space for it. Still stuck on my stock 60 gig ._.
Bitterblack isle is f***ing hard. I’m already at lv200 and I’m still getting my ass kicked. 800 wakestones sure do help in keeping my sanity…
Is this Hard mode you are playing too because I’m inclined to say you really suck. I’m not trying to hate but I was at 120 iirc in the base game in normal mode and I don’t remember dying too much after awhile. It really became a game of “how many of you have to die to give me my rare goods!”
Yep, playing on hard mode. The jump in difficulty from gransys to bitterblack really surprised me. Im still using most of my gear from the base game. I haven’t had the time to grind for the cursed items.
After the first few levels in the base game, normal difficulty becomes a joke…
^I take it then that the enemies are just very very aggressive.
If only they were “just” aggressive. They have more health and more damage. Sometimes you even face 2 dragons at once. Or two gorecyclops. After the battle, the rotting flesh can draw in tougher enemies like three humongous wolves.
^Oh god I can’t wait for Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Aww crap. That was my only cancelled mission from choosing to stop any of them left and meeting the Duke. Figured those in the castle keep could be stronger than those around it for sure. Should’ve just tried and reloaded if I died anyway. (read on 2 more pages before posting, cool how that questline comes into play later on there)
And climbing around on rooftops has been one of my favorite things to do in this game, even before getting double jump. Haven’t done so much since like Megaman Legends 1&2. You character naturally lifts his leg with knees bent correctly even on the uneven rooftops if you stop on them, like at the peak of one and you’re weight is shifted one one side more than the other, I thought that was a cool detail. There’s even a secondary, but useless Y button jumping stab with daggers if you’re too close to the ground. No extra hangtime part of that animation. Just straight into the ground.
Hah, right before the Griffin fight with a crew of soldiers I saw the green [ ? ] above the guards on the bridge and he handed me the “YOURE DEAD ARISEN” bounty hunters message with that cutscene. That’s going to make travelling around more fun.
Selene’s Questline where she asks to go live in your home at the end. Hey why not, nobody lives there. But you can’t seem to allow that, she’s stuck in that boggy cemetary then. Maybe when Dragon’s Dogma 2 takes cues from like Way of the Samurai 3’s pawn/follower women that can live in your home back in the village with enough affinity towards them. They’ll use up items in your storage though. And some were known to break the swords!
Selene should move to your home in Cassardis some time in the future once you complete that quest. Going back to the grave also gives you another quest (pick up the slab on the grave).
I had the original DD with no internetz and I didnt beat it.
Buy again with internets or no?
