Dragon's Dogma (From the director of DMC3)

Levels don’t matter as much as equipment in this game. Why don’t you try fighting the drake near Shadow Fort first to see if you’re up for the task? They have similar attacks, but for me I had a harder time dealing with the drake because you can’t run under it unlike the Dragon.

Make sure you bring a lot of curatives since it’ll be a long fight.

Look at my previous post. hinthint

100+ flasks of spring water good enough? I need something to cure debilitation because that Drake was mind-fucking my whole party last time. =/

Waah ps3 laser thingy broke. Cant get my DD fix for awhile :frowning:

That’s, plenty? Dear lord man. I assume this fight is already going down as I type this but I fought him when I was level 60 something and the hardest thing about it was actually hitting his weak spot (I was a Mystic Knight and omg that fight took so long) for obvious reasons. Other than that avoiding his attacks is easy enough since he has to telegraph everything he does since he’s so fucking big and freeing pawns before they are turned evil shouldn’t be too hard if you make that your priority.

SPOILERS BELOW I’M LAZY.

Artemis and Apollo Go Home

So I just got all three dragon tears and I hear that those increase wakestone drop rates in Everfall and people are taking advantage of this to make some cash. So that’s what I’m going to do too. It’s a little disheartening that Everfall is honestly two styles of dungeon chopped up and reordered with different enemies and bosses. I wish they could have put in more time to make a proper dungeon not unlike a Mega Man Wiley/Sigma Stage 2 with a boss teleporter room. This falling shit is a waste of time. It’s cool up until you are trying to go somewhere specific. Then it’s lame as eff.

Anyway, so I’m a Mage with only two vocation ranks left. Apollo, if you y’all haven’t seen him lately, has abandoned his helmet to let his dreadlocks show and is also a Warrior now. He’s actually lame as a warrior so I can’t wait to move to something else for him. Me as well. Having played as both a mage and sorcerer I can’t say that I’m too thrilled with how magic is handled. I think instead of having to charge up for each spell everytime you use it it should have been able to cast a spell and have a duration for how long it lasts or maybe shorten how long it takes to casts spells. I might also be impatient but I feel weak as eff as magician because when I can’t contribute, I really effing can’t contribute lol. At least as a non magician I can still whip out a strong physical weapon. There’s none of that shit here. I feel like a bitch when I’m dragged off by a hellhound. If I were an assassin I’d be dragging it off and gutting it in the corner.

I’m looking forward to cashing in my wakestones and ending this dark sky filled madness to go back to beautiful spring days in Gransys in New Game+.

I think besides all those vocation changes and additional vocations I mentioned before I'd also like to see a sequel that gives you better time management capabilities. Since some stuff doesn't come back for a few days or a few weeks I'd like to be able to keep track of that with my own in-game calendar.

PS. I mean really, why does the Wyrm have wings?

I think that’s my problem with the Drake by Shadow Fort: I didn’t think I was able to free them after he grabbed them and started mind-fucking them. If I swat the hand and free them I should be fine to take him down.

Man, this game is a blast. Now I’m just fucking around with random character edits. I wish there was a way to save/export custom edits for easy access. Now I’m poor as fuck because I’m buying every piece of armor, & equipping it based on appearance, regardless of stats. So my pawn is even more low-tier than before

Does Apollo even wear the Apollo mask? Or is he Apollo like Apollo Creed aka a suave mofo.

I got the Abyssial set from the Ur Dragon and it looks like butt. So I also just put on what looks nice. I like the assassin mask sometimes because when you are out of town with it, they put the face mask on and get that Ryu Hayabusa look. I mostly run the dragon roar though since it grants strength when I’m against the Ur Dragon. It’s just a bandana over your mouth with dragon teeth design . Also a lot of mage robes and sets don’t look nice at all. Maybe that’s why half the mage pawns look like hookers…

My character is sporting the Chimera armor set at this time. The helmet fully drawn looks badass.

Is there a mask called the Apollo mask? I need it if there is one.

I got it from the Ur dragon. The description says it protects against holy damage, but that makes me wonder what enemy even attacks with holy.

There’s something wrong with people. I spent the last hour taking out spots on the Ur Dragon and he never healed during this time, so this means other people and myself were doing fine and not dying. 1 dot left, then I come back to finish him off and he has 4 bars of health healed back. I know people are just checking up on him for the last hit then leaving but they should at least stay and not leave because that makes it take even longer to kill the guy.

Wights?

Oh no… not this again.

The current theory, which seems the most accurate, is that let’s say the Ur has 1000 health left, and 100 people log in. Each one will see him start with 1000/100=10 hp. Now let’s say after those people played he’s down to 500, but only 20 people log in to play the next round. Each of them will see 500/20= 25 hp. “OMG HE JUST HEALED!”

I just finished all the sidequests besides like 2 which I can’t do yet, and I’ll probably finish NG+ and platinum this game by the end of this week, and will go back to avoiding games with leveling mechanics. This game could have been a masterpiece if it were designed with being “lite stat-based” in mind. Where your character’s power stays the same, but the world is designed to fit it, in a way that’s always challenging, and as you progress you get more skills as enemies become more complicated as well.
Think GTA+DMC with a fantasy theme.

Interesting. I got the impression leaving or dying restored life on the dragon. That’s what has been going around on a bunch of forums at least. The wiki says the same thing but the same people saying that are probably editing the wiki (Though they got percents for things like running away and dying, which may be for offline). It would be nice if Capcom told us how it works.

Only 92K copies sold… ? Ouch… It seems the game bombed really hard. Did Capcom advertise it at all ?

Their only advertisement was to stick RE6 demo on it and hope for the best.

There is an RE6 demo on this?

I heard this game globally is only 440,000…but…http://www.vgchartz.com/game/50852/dragons-dogma/ It is Vgchartz, so, idk

Damn it, that’s 4 Ur dragons I’ve gone in on and 4 that died while I was sleeping. I’m going to have to start begging for that damn sword if this keeps up.
Does the offline Ur drop Ascalon? I picked up Volant White last night from it, trying to get Ascalon and Heaven’s Keys.
Saturday, Ur, I’ve got all night. I’m taking you down motherfucker.
And quick bump for my girl, Lynn is a level 68 ranger, challenger/utilitarian. She’s a Virgo, loves long walks in the countryside and is really good with animals/goblins/chimeras etc and is just cute as a button. PSN is Kitsunisan if you’d like to take her out sometime.

Back of the manual, comes with redeem code.
Capcom is like “wait till… uh…” I forge the date.

Damn, that blows. Maybe the Japanese sales alone will be enough to warrant a sequel, with no localization for western markets.

I wonder how much the inclusion of real multiplayer would’ve helped.
