You don’t need a dual bat, which is basically two sticks on the controller. Most newer arcade sticks have a 3 way toggle for the left and right analogs, and the dpad. So you should be fine unless you made your own stick without a toggle or your stick somehow didn’t have the toggle, which I believe most sticks you can buy has these days have.
edit: The reason you need the right analog is because it controls a cursor on the screen that you can use to open treasure chests and search things.
it’s just for runes/treasure anyway not combat stuff. you have to stop moving to hit the dpad/L stick for items. not having an alternative for sticks is just overall stupid given the game they’re trying to remake.
I would have respected the Polygon article if they just got on their soapbox instead of pretending they give any fuck about giving a beltscroll game an honest review. If they complained that the sexist imagery caused permanent blindness and prevented them from giving an honest assessment of the gameplay, I could live with that. But I can count on one hand how many media reviews of “old” arcade games since the 90s were actually knowledgeable and well-reasoned.
If you think this game is Nazi Satan incarnate and not worth the energy of looking at… cool. But why would anyone believe a hostile game review that claims an arcade game is “repetitive?” I’m so faux-offended.
EpicNameBro’s review. It’s pretty in depth and he brings up a lot of interesting points. He specifically mentions how both Normal Mode and Hard Mode are way too easy and it isn’t until you get to Inferno and the Labyrinth of Chaos that the game really picks up.
What’s ‘scaring’ me, is the idea of increased difficulty for solo play - intended for multi-player content.
I gave up on Guild Wars within a month of release, because their were missions that REQUIRED I be teamed with someone, I have never played with anyone on PSN nor on my Vita, and frankly I’m not hung up on it either - I’m very sporadic about my playtime these days. But, to say that it’s going to be very difficult to go at it alone - tickles me nervousness bone.
Since i do most of my gaming on XBL I have hardly any friends on PSN, so I was wondering who else was down with forming some co-op groups to campaign and pillage this game with?
No, you have to advnace to a certain part in the game that’s several hours in. It’s to help with ‘lowbees and scrubs’ online. I just hope that doens’t affect local multiplayer, I was going to invite some friends over to play if I got it for hte PS3 (still trying to decide should I grab it for the Vita of the PS3)
