My friend never logged on. If you want to carry me through LoC so I can grind for gear and shit I wouldn’t complain honestly. I’ve still got a ton of floors to go so anything to get me through that faster so I can start messing around in ToM and Ultimate is fine by me. I’ll probably be on for a few more hours weather my buddy shows up or not.
Edit, friend just showed up, that being the case, I’d ask you not bring out shit that’s too broken. He’ll be way overleveled, but all his gear is legit.
If I didn’t know any better I’d say that was official art straight from the creators. Very nice. My fav one is the one where she’s scratching her ass lol. Also a lil off topic but I can’t help but see darkstalker characters as the characters from Dragon’s Crown while I’m playing.
This game needs to be on ALL Sony systems. I know there was stuff they didn’t add the first time around. Would be nice if they pulled a SS Delta and released a super-update that qualifies as a sequel.
Fucking update it, the things added(free DLC) and fixed and buffed and completely overhauled outway the nerfs by a huuuuuuuge margin.
The game doesn’t “start” until you get to Infernal diffiiculty, and it gets real once you get to Ultimate and start climbing the Tower of Mirages for RNG special property look that can completely change the way characters work and give the ability to have some ridiculous builds.
If you’re using the Fighter, Dwarf, or Amazon always carry a strength potion to use before boss fights. This is a good strat for the wizard if once you get to a higher levels and unlock gear that lets you be more offensive minded without a ton of spell books.
Sorceress is the best NPC if you aren’t actually playing her. If you are using her you’ll want to have a Fighter on your side. It doesn’t really matter until you get to Ultimate anyway.
Items types are shareable between certain characters. This is decent for hand me downs until you get to the Labyrinth of Chaos and Tower of Mirages where you get gear specifically designed for you character, that you can still totally give to other characters if they have the ability to equip. For example the Fighter and the Dwarf are the only two character that can wear gauntlets, and the fighter has a special set of gauntlets that give him +30% attack speed. You can just give these to your Dwarf once he reaches the appropriate level and it’ll receive the same buffs. The item this is most exploited with is the Amazon’s Labyrinth of Chaos pendant that heals you for +1 for every hit you land on an enemy, which gets ridiculous when you put it on the Fighter who turns into a health syphon with it equipped(all characters can wear pendants/necklaces).
Only a couple weeks ago did I discover eating was mashable. I’m averaging a fully seasoned dish more than I used to by going fucking ham on the eat button.
I’ve gotten back into playing this yet again… I never finished leveling up my Elf; she’s around level 44 now…that little broad is a ultraaaaa-comboooo™ machine, man. One nitpick-- I hate that the special stuff runs out in this game though…it would be nice if it replenished a little bit of the “resources” on stage transition, or if there was an item that produced a regenerative effect for specials like her salamander oil, the poison, or wizard’s spellbooks, etc… the “special” stuff runs out at some point, forcing you to go back to town eventually.
More customization would also be a nice thing for a sequel one day… at least give me more color-control on every “piece” of the character sprites. (e.g.–making a character with solid yellow skin, blue eyes and totally black clothing, or whatever other bizarre combination one could think of.)
…limitations of customization in rpgs—that really bugs me, y’know? The fact that most developers don’t allow you to really play around with how the character looks…like they’ll give you some range of creation but with some silly limitations—like in modern Phantasy Star games by that company…you actually can’t make bald characters. How fuckin stupid is that?! It’s like they don’t even acknowledge that there is such a thing as a bald person…like they’ve never heard of or seen Mr. T., Bald Bull, Tele Savalas, Sagat, Dhalsim, Charles Barkley, etc. etc. Or…in some other games, you can change the skin but only within the normal range of human skin colors…so you can’t get crazy and have a purple or green-skinned person…man get the fuck out of here with that restrictive nonsense.
Diablo 3 is another recent one-- you have NO control over how your character looks, aside from the various pieces of clothing and armors which can be re-colored or “transformed” with the mystic lady npc…and even there, there’s limitations on the recoloring you can do…like a wizard CANNOT have a jacket that is 1 solid color, because there’s always this gaudy shit on his coats like gold outlines and other ornate stuff that will ALWAYS be a certain color…oh and “transmogrification” options weren’t even a thing until that RoS expansion came out…I’ll stop here because I could truly rant on and on about this for pages.
Anyway, I’ll likely have more and more DCrown playtime from here on out since winter-time sucks. (*more occasions where you have to sit in a car, waiting on it to warm up before actually going somewhere) My elf is kicking sooo much ass right now…as long as she doesn’t get hit, of course…naturally, she can’t take a hit worth a damn.(*understandable due to the type of character she is)
Any updates in the last year? I put this game down for a while to play other stuff, and never rotated back to it. Hell, I just started SS Delta. Freedom Wars took my spare time, and GG xrd ain’t leaving me much to work with…
That reminds me—the update situation; mine is still on that 2nd patch because I still love how ridiculous it made the Dwarf… my PS3 version is on the 3rd patch. I don’t recall anything else coming out after update#3…
*quick research–ah that was patch 1.05 apparently… http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/633261-dragons-crown/68271618 yeah, that’s what my Vita version is still on right now…it’s too good to give up…besides, I still have the regular ps3 version if I want to play the later update, I suppose. It’s hilariously overpowered…something resulting in a character taking just one point of damage from almost everything in the game…sometimes it’s fun being outright unstoppable for real.
Yeah, with 2 pair of hammers in your bag, as long as you have “Pumped Up” active, you’re only taking 1 point of damage from anything. The bite of death from that damn rabbit is an exception though.
This game was amazing, I should pop it back in and do some ToM runs. Here’s to hoping for a sequel with more playable classes, amazing music, and those ohhhhhh so gorgeous level and enemy designs
I finished Normal with Elf a few days ago. I’m using a new PS3 so my levels with my old characters are gone which is a bit frustrating. I might wait a while until I decide to bring my Sorceress back to A level status.
