Ultimate story is pretty fucked.
It’s almost like if some of those bosses, and even a few elites, look at you hard, your character will get ko’d.

Well, I was going pretty steady overwhelmingly under powered till I reduced its health to 50% then I couldn’t help stepping on those flames.
It is funny watching those NPCs die as if to say they were made of papier macher.
Non-Sorceress NPCs are pretty useless in Ultimate.
Not saying the Sorc isn’t bad in Ultimate, it’s just she can spawn food and shields, buffing you, since the any other kind of support from her other the other NPCs is pretty trivial.
Aye, NPCs are nigh obsolete upon reaching Ultimate difficulty. I’m just too lazy to buy a wireless router to play online though perhaps I ought to.
I don’t have any save on PS3. I only have the Vita version.
As far as cooking goes, my highest is 80k. Of course if I use a cooking faq and time the food returns, I could calculate a formulate for maximizing the return…which I just might do!
80,000+ (on Vita) is pretty easy, though it depends on the ingredients. I know that in the LoC/ToM, the first camp you encounter (i.e. after 3 stages) it’s possible: Just grab the meat (most valuable, +8 ATK if you fry it) on the far left and fry it in either the far left or far right pan, while boiling the rabbit and lobster in the middle two pots. Add all three spices every time. If you’re running at full efficiency, you should be able to sneak in one more other meat in a frying pan inbetween the +8 meat respawn times.
I actually played again last night for the first time since June (I was slightly off in my earlier post: I was at 674 hours, had completed up to floor 639, level 217), and played 3 stages + camp. I got 84000+ in camp, with +70% ATK, +46% DEF, and I forget the score.
The odd thing is, the same meat has different values in different camps. For example, the aforementioned +8 meat (fried) is only worth +5 in the other camp.
Yeah, one could probably calculate the theoretical maximum score that one could obtain from cooking. I personally just wanted to know if 100,000 could be obtained. It took a couple hundred hours and reaching very close with many 90,000+ scores, but I finally did it. I think it requires more than one person though - I’ll have to double check my images (I take pictures on the vita whenever I get a big score), but I think my 100,000+ scores came from runs with me and my hacked Dwarf NPC.
re: NPCs
Man. Pre-500 ToM, I found even Sorceress NPCs to be useless quite quickly. Mind you, they might be more valuable now since their equipment can be repaired without jumping through hoops to do so, but Sorceress works much better when you’re controlling her and providing support for NPCs rather than the other way around.
Otherwise, pre-ToM 500, the only NPCs I’ve used that are worth are damn are ones with hacked equipment. I have a hacked NPC Dwarf buddy I got around floor 70-something who was a powerful companion when I used him up to floor 500. He has really strong equipment, but not the stupid busted hacks that later proliferated (y’know, the ones that have like 5 weapons and 4 shields equipped at once that are truly invincible), so he could actually be killed, though it was tough to do so. Sadly, once you hit 500+, even these hacked characters become useless. That’s when I would need something like a Vidness Elf or the aforementioned uber-hacked characters for them to survive. Since I have none of those, from floor 500 to 642 has been all solo.
EDIT:
I went and checked my pics. Looks like I only managed to break 100,000 in cooking twice, but both were solo efforts. My best scores:
HP +419, ATK +62%, DEF +50%, Score +50%, total: 102276
HP +359, ATK+82%(!), DEF+34%, Score +54%, total: 109840
Oh, and I forgot I maxed out the score (99,999,999) once, when I took my Fighter from floor 35 in LoC (where he was Ultimate difficulty patch dropped) to Loc 99. My Fighter was already up to floor 120 in ToM, so between being level 140 something, having ToM and Ultimate story gear, and having my hacked 216 NPC Dwarf as backup, we made mincemeat of LoC. Each stage took about 3-4 minutes, about 15 minutes per floor. I actually cleared floors 36 to 99 in two sessions since I maxxed out the score around floor 74 and went back to town just because I didn’t want to waste any more score points, though I could have cleared floors 36 to 99 in one shot if I wanted. Nothing survived my onslaught. I miss that feeling.
Hmmm, so I reached LoC 26 but now bosses are nigh one-shotting me. Is it because I don’t have the Seal equipped?

I’m using Elf Waifu. I-I need halp plz T__T
I guess I should buy a wireless router.
I found an interesting discovery (one you guys won’t be able to duplicate, unless you chose to do so ). If the Dwarf is given no weapons, he can smash indefinitely. There’s start-up invincibility, and about a second of invincibility cool-down…during which you can do another smash!
Tried this with the fighter, and it doesn’t work. AND if you do the smash then go into guarding the game locks up hard and you have to reset.
Tried with Amazon, she just ‘loses’ her weapon and hops along as normal, but her splashes retain their explosion properties (if you have them).
No-weapon Dwarf is SOOOOO FUNNNNNNNNNNNN!!
What do you mean we can’t duplicate? Ah yes, we can’t have a bag without a weapon equipped. It won’t work if we toss away the hammer at the get go?

Nope, if a hammer is sitting on the ground it won’t work.
So…with every alphabet letter available as a rune, I sought to find out if there existed a secret combination that was hiding as some form of easter-egg left by the developers…
With 2880 combinations, the results are…
No extra combinations exist
But I’m happy to have tried them all, so now I know there isn’t anything hiding out there.
I’ve made it to LoC floor 40. OSU!
Does the wizard just suck early game, or does he just really rely on having other people around distracting?
I can’t seem to solo with him for shit, and i’m at level 74.
I’ve been having somewhat better luck with this weird build i’ve been using with him.
only slow and fire ward for passive help, and most points into MP related skills, with levitate and golem as well.
More of a constant barrage of regular magic instead of switching between magic, charging, and big spells for damage.
Just got DC for my bday yesterday. Picked up the elf cuz I love archer classes. The game is kinda tough, well tougher than I thought it would be. Can’t wait to get deeper into the game.

I stared out with the Wiz, and later life as the Wiz is all about MP. Gaining MP on hit, quickly regenerating MP, having a max supply of MP. The problem is, what to do when you get crowed, like at the Pirate’s hideout. Slow + Blaze seem effective. I’d only put one in Golem, just so that you can make them. Otherwise they get eaten alive later on, no matter how big they are. They should have done them like the skeletons…
The motion I use (granted, I don’t really have to fight that hard anymore) is jump, shot, jump, shot, levitate and clear out a place to land. If you are going to teleport, try to find a wand that has TP cost at -80 or -30.
The Dwarf and Knight can both play an attrition game with the enemies and generally plow through, taking some hits but the risk/reward is usually in their favor. Amazon has to focus on not giving the enemy a chance to attack at all, usually by killing them as fast as possible. Typical glass cannon DPS character stuff.
Run up to a group of enemies and combo to get Berserk up, then just go ham on everything around you, avoiding getting hit. If you see they’re about to attack during your string, quickly block or parry (use the Elf’s Lore trick). Landing a parry is basically GG against that group of enemies, so try and use it when you can, especially on the bigger enemies who attack slower.
If you get overwhelmed, deadly revolution out of there letting your allies handle it, then combo into Brandish to get back in it.
For bosses, pop on Incite Rage or War Paint, go ham and don’t die (Deadly Revolution doubles as a movement option as well as an attack, use it). If your Berserk and Adrenaline skills are high, you can do massive damage and then retreat, popping a potion or defense tonic when you need to.
If you can pay attention, she’s a lot of fun and rewarding to play. Problem is it’s kind of hard to do that when a Wizard’s usually around filling up the screen with shit. Then an enemy I could barely see hits me hard, makes me lose my ax, takes away my Beserk and then life sucks.
You make this shit sound like high tier play in a fighting game lol. I wanted to give Amazon a try but I hear at later lvs she struggles compared to other characters like the fighter or wizard. I like her fast aggressive style. Do you have any tips for what should I invest in when starting out with her, and how to play with her?
Waifu with max backstab and hideout dagger and max maintenance can reach 200k of damage pretty quickly. It works well with with boss enemies that appear in the middle of a dungeon.
One thing that pisses me off about Dragon’s Crown is that they borrowed from Borderlands which is a good thing, but missed one crucial feature. RESETING SKILL POINTS! now if I’m wrong PLEASE correct me, but I can’t seem to find away to reset them!
You have to play a couple floors in the Labyrinth of Chaos. Every few floors you’re gifted a respec potion to be redeemed at the adventurers’ guild.
