The Dwarf and Knight can both play an attrition game with the enemies and generally plow through, taking some hits but the risk/reward is usually in their favor. Amazon has to focus on not giving the enemy a chance to attack at all, usually by killing them as fast as possible. Typical glass cannon DPS character stuff.
Run up to a group of enemies and combo to get Berserk up, then just go ham on everything around you, avoiding getting hit. If you see they’re about to attack during your string, quickly block or parry (use the Elf’s Lore trick). Landing a parry is basically GG against that group of enemies, so try and use it when you can, especially on the bigger enemies who attack slower.
If you get overwhelmed, deadly revolution out of there letting your allies handle it, then combo into Brandish to get back in it.
For bosses, pop on Incite Rage or War Paint, go ham and don’t die (Deadly Revolution doubles as a movement option as well as an attack, use it). If your Berserk and Adrenaline skills are high, you can do massive damage and then retreat, popping a potion or defense tonic when you need to.
If you can pay attention, she’s a lot of fun and rewarding to play. Problem is it’s kind of hard to do that when a Wizard’s usually around filling up the screen with shit. Then an enemy I could barely see hits me hard, makes me lose my ax, takes away my Beserk and then life sucks.
Yeah the Dwarf can defeat significantly stronger enemies simply by spamming dodge cancels and sneaking in Grand Smashes here and there. Might take a while but you can levels severely under leveled with crappy gear.
Elf lore trick? Is there any use to lore? I think I’ll forego lore and max out deadly boots.
Hold Square to lore, keep holding it and repeatedly tap L1. It’s just a pretty gimmicky thing so you can get rapid fire lores out with her, but it’s really helpful to rapid fire things like Amazon’s parry or both mages’ charge spells.
So I did end up doing a short dungeon run with my buddy today, only about two and a half hours. He’s got a new gimmick, one character with his feet, one with his hands. Dude has tendinosis which makes his hands largely useless for gaming, and his second character died a lot (though she was pretty underleveled), but it was a hilarious proof of concept.
Expect videos if we ever get around to getting decent recording equipment.
So I picked up a used Vita (had to get a memory card too, WHAT A SCAM), and I must say, Cooking time is so much fun!!! I’m betting there’s a contest to see who can get the highest cooking score…I was able to get the Gourmand trophy in no time!
I think i topped out at like attack boost of 84, it was recorded too. You should remember this Tekno. It was one of the streams where I was on vita and the party was one ps3 in the same room lol, one of our last streams.
I haven’t played this since around May I think. I got up to floor 680+ with Dwarf (still only around level 216) in the tower before I got fed up with endless crappy drops. I was making good progress even though my drops haven’t gotten anything good in over 300 hours (my total was 667 hours I think), and at one point I managed to make an 18 stage run in Ultimate Story, so I was quite satisfied with the game. Still haven’t beaten Ultimate AD because I still can’t beat Bilbaron Fortress B path on Ultimate with solo Dwarf - even with using glitched 1.05 Dwarf I wasn’t able to kill the enemies fast enough to save my cannons.
I might get back into it at some point, but I’m currently busy slowly going through FFX HD, plus I want to get Disgaea 4 (again - bought the PS3 version only played it for an hour). But the endless random drops are really dispiriting. Does anyone know if PS3-style save hacking works on Vita? Even though 1.06 Dwarf is Best (non-hacked) Dwarf, I’m tired of feeling under-powered. I really would like to get back to killing things with impunity like with 1.05 Sniper Dwarf. I still think the totally random equipment drops is one of the worst things about DC. That, and the stupid length of the tower - it should have maxed out at 999 floors, tops.
As for cooking on Vita, I think my record in one shot is +70% ATk, +50% DEF, +50% Score. I think my highest cooking score is 106,000 (I’ve broken 100,000 score only 2 or 3 times). That’s only possible with the right special ingredients.
If you have a ‘special’ save on the ps3, just upload the data within DC and download it back to the Vita. It’s that simple!
As far as cooking goes, my highest is 80k. Of course if I use a cooking faq and time the food returns, I could calculate a formulate for maximizing the return…which I just might do!
I got pwn’ed by Ultimate Chimera. Basically, any kind of hit would one shot me, but I could manage to dodge all of the hits. What got me was when the whole room was engulfed in flames, just two touch of the residual flames would KO me. X__X
