Dragonball Z Tenkaichi 3

Late Vegeta is Buu saga Vegeta right?
I would like to see what will they say about Bardock.

Late Vegeta is Buu Saga.

And that Japanese tier list is interesting… I wonder what their reasoning is for having even Super Vegeto and Super Gogeta as top tiers. Makes no sense to me. Whatever it is, they probably use completely different criteria for rating characters than we do.

And I lol’d when I saw Majin Vegeta as a high tier. What were they thinking when they put him there? There are dozens of characters with better melee than him. Nothing remarkable about his blast 2s, and his blast 1s take forever to activate.

I wonder if you can fight the japanese online…if so i hope it won’t be laggy…cause that will be one way to find out why they put him there.

The list is really…err Odd… I dont really know what to make of it but it doesnt seem correct to me.

Hrmm I havnt seen gogeta and vegetto with broli and 4 gogeta ever. Im pretty sure its gogeta and broli in there own thier. THEN vegetto and gogeta…

Anyway I wont comment on tiers to much, since anything other then the top tier I think the difference is pretty drastic. Im not really sure whats so hard to understand myself. The game is pretty simple, and the better characters have more power then others, are faster, do more damage, harder to avoid. just seems obvious. I think you guys just complicate the game to much. The “facts” to say are right in front of you.

On a random note I playedwith a friend yesterday, and cell apperently has a infinte. Doesnt seem theres any chance of escapeing it ethier. your pretty just much just fucked. Ill assume the japanese dont know about it, or else Id have to assume hes higher. We tried for quite a bit and there doesnt seem to be anything you can do at all. Once your in it, you basicly can just put the controler down. I wonder if it was in the other games.

Also it seems you can freeze the game ala the first game, wtih solar flare stuff. Not sure how exactly it works, as its hard to test stuff in this game unless with someone else, so dunno how good it is.

EDIT: never mind im dum, cell is there. Guess ill assume it is cuz of his infinite lol. Ill have to go browse the boards again and see if thats why they have him so high or something another time.

EDIT again: never mind im only seeing him in one. Maybe they dont know then.

Im pretty sure you could probably Z counter 2 out of that inf as Z counter 2 works on everything that isnt a projectile. But i could be wrong…

We tired for 15-20 mins. Just to see if you could get out. So you would assume we would have gotten somethign lucky at least once. seems your pretty much fucked.

It seems obvious when all you’ve done is fool around with the basic mechanics and never invested any time into focusing on character specific strategies. This involves potara set-ups and the use of B1s and B2s. Once you focus on the set-ups, the characters that are better just have better set-ups. Once again, Gohan vs SSJ4 Gogeta wifi match… A much stronger and faster character lost to a character with a deadly set-up. Gogeta didn’t just lose, he got crushed. He didn’t even knock out half of Gohan’s first lifebar. The Gogeta player should have used ki blasts way more often… but once again, that deviates from the very basic idea of just beating your opponent with melee. And if the game was just about beating your opponent with the basic melee, then the better characters would be the ones that are faster, stronger and harder to avoid… but BT has never been like that.

That’s why you actually have to learn about character strategies before you really judge how tiers will turn out or what the game will generally be like. You can’t just fool around with the basic mechanics and call it a day…

I really don’t think the Japanese tier lists take into account B1s. B1s are amazing in this game. Especially with all the B1 enhancing items. Alot of B1s, like the super armor, after image, wild sense, instant transmission, telekenesis, etc will only cost 1 bar, and tons of characters get around 5-6. Could you imagine what it would be like for someone to throw 6 instant transmissions, all when you least expected it, in one match? Thats nuts…

Z counter 2s and the ki explosions (tap L1 twice) prevent any type of infinite from existing. At least I think.

instant Ki explosions can happen at any time iirc so yeah i think they would keep infinites from happening.

Dude come on… if your as good as your suppose to be you should know as well as I do, online doesnt mean jack shit. Especialy when your in a fighting game when one frame differnce matters. Im not paticularly horny about frame data, so I dont know the exact number, but ill assume that teleporting is 4 frames or so, and that parry is 1-2. Then again I suck at the parry thing so my opinon probably doesnt mean much. But whatever the case even frame difference makes a diff. So online doesnt mean jack shit. Plus those matchs werent of any paticular instrest anyway. So yea… bad example…

Anyway I wont duldge into combos as well… of course what really is a combo in this game anyway… but speaking of super vegetto I think its pretty easy to see why he is good. He takes less meter to use then a lot of other characters do for the same damage. So damage ki ratio is umm good. He gets 2 turns before he has a time out on fireballs in the air. Which is one thing gogeta 4 doesnt have. There not as powerfull but whatever. Plus beacuse he doesnt take as much meter yet he still has the rapid yadda yadda its basicly for “free” since hella easy to get the meter back since he charges faster then almost all the other powerful characters of his type to say. Also when hes gaurd broken only need to fill up one bar, so you wont get stuck in anything stupid. More life then most other characters, more damageing then most other characters. Afterimage for 15 seconds or whatever, and then theres that bug so it wont have the minus of makeing you build up meter slower.

I dunno hard to go in depth cuz the game is just to simply and obvious imo I guess… Again whatever i guess we disagree. or something…

anyway umm yea apperently if you tech throw with solar flare, you can bug the game a bit. certain throws just freeze you, certain throws will no longer damage you, and certain throws when you tech them they will now damage the other guy(seems random though shrug)… Also you can solar flare a rush super as well, and then after rush super oppoent will be blind after it finishs.

Regardless of the online, Gohan has a massive, massive advantage over aton of characters because of that move. I think it could be a broken strategy. Also those moves can be activated while getting comboed. So when you think you’ve finally landed the first hit, and you start doing more, all of a sudden your opponent just escapes…

Vegeto… yeah he’s good for the reasons you stated, but that definitely doesn’t make him stand out from other characters. He’s just stats. I’d be more worried fighting a skilled Yamcha player… multiple charged ki blasts, and with blast stock usage -1, he can after image for just one bar and activate it even when he’s getting comboed. Not to mention at max power, ki blasts automatically bounce off of him. He’s really dangerous.

Just from reading your posts, I can tell you’ve only been playing with normal characters and you haven’t actually fooled around with any potaras yet. You can play the game at a level that simple if you want, but keep in mind you’ll be playing a completely different game than the game quite a few others will be playing. And it shows, especially in our little arguments…

And how do you keep on finding these glitches? Lol.

so the potaras are fusing different characters, right? I was planning on waiting till the US release since I don’t exactly know how to do it with the JPN text. Can you explain?

Potaras aren’t for fusing. Potaras are items that enhance your character. Blue potaras are used for strength of blast moves, attack power, defense and ki. Yellow potaras are used for other modifications, like being able to use melee teleports for free, reduce usage of blast 1 items by one stock, improve damage done by basic square attacks, lower ki consumption, etc. Purple potaras adjust the AI of the CPU.

Look 1 question and I dont feel like looking for it cause i got to go. Will online have 1 screen or will it still be split. Please say 1 screen.

It’s one screen…at least what I saw in previews.

quick notes from a short session inbetween VF5 time today:

ZANGYA’S TELEPORT GAME IS MADNESS.
i can’t tell but i think it only takes a very small amount from the Blast stock gauge or the sparking / ki meter? but her mixup becomes CRAZY with it, almost Burter-level. rapidfire teleport madness, from a distance it becomes "oh my god how do i actually hit this crazy bitch."
ALSO:

how many characters have that untechable / unescapable electricity stun? Zangya’s web move causes it, one of the Buus has it, Frieza has it…what moves cause it?
because that shit IS FUCKING GOOD AS HELL.

actually you can after image her web i believe. They are teleportable before the hit iirc. Early piccolo has it too. There are several characters that have the move Hella good shit.

Im having LOTS of fun with yamcha

oh seeing babdi reminds me. He also has a true infinite apperently. Though he sucks, it seems so im not sure how easy it would be for him to start it shrug. But yea him and cell= dum.

I love how you say so and so have infinities, but you never actually explain what the infinities are…

And I just found the blast stock -1 items… and Yamcha is a guaranteed top tier. The guy is a total beast.

The blast stock -1 items are way too much fun to use. I can predict tons of strategy coming from them.

Edit: After image is even better than it was in T1
