What more could they do?

Yea when I saw this a few days ago I kinda just… shruged… Dont get me wrong I mean I liked the first game a lot, but second game was hella disapointing…

Also there trying to act like 150 characters so awsome yadda yadda, but its like dude you cant even get the characters moves right with 60, and then 120 characters. And to that as well, a lot of the characters are basicly just copy paste here copy paste from there yadda yadda…

So yea im having a hard time getting excited about it. Just doesnt make sence to me, that when they acctualy have characters that have there own moves, they end up getting generic shit.

Anyway hopefully vegetto isnt shitted on again. He better have final kamehameha to grrrr grumble…

I hope they can do better this time too.

Kaio-Sama and Enma-Daio plzkthnks

good shit, i’ll play it
just, a few balance issues that concerned me about the last one:
sidestep should be a tad faster, more like evade from VF
step in ( x in close combat ) shouldn’t be invulnerable to throws…some people disagree, but i think throws should be a little better to give some characters better options after one…more throw options like throwing characters in a specific direction would be dope
PLEASE keep quick teleport in
EVERYONE should have the option of taking blast 1 shields, through capsule means or otherwise, it’s something that seems sometimes required to fight the ridiculous rushdown in this game, much like Burst in GG
also PLEASE keep tag/transform link combos in, those are dope

I agree sir. Oh and one more thing replace choosing super saiyans with choosing the character and making them super saiyan.Goku should be able to just go to 4 instead of picking SSJ4 Goku.

i pretty much agree with 4649’s tweaks. the last one was a pretty solid game, and there is more variation than people give it credit for. i just hope they fix downward dashes in the wii version. aside from that i actually more comfortable with the wii controls. you could not mash on supers and cancelling attacks were more responsive than the ps2 controls. I’m just glad they put nail in the game. not because he matters or anything, but im just tried of hearing the constant bitching. General rurildo(sp?) and nova shenron better be in the game though.

They could make it in the same mold as Budokai 3 for starters. This bullshit distance game that they turned it into sucks. Oh, let’s go play hide and seek and try to ruin each other’s shit with energy attacks from a mile away. That, the one attack button, and the over the shoulder camera angle can kiss my ass. I’ll take the original Budokai over Tenkaichi anyday.

Despite the title Atari gave it in the US, the Tenkaichi (or Sparking! in Japan) series is not related to the Budokai series at all. Budokai was developed by Dimps; Sparking is developed by Spike. The Budokai series proper IS still going, however, on PSP, with Shin Budokai 1 and 2.

Yeah? Well there hasn’t been a Budokai release for PS2 since 3 so it’s a moot point. I’m aware of the whole name deal. Look, what I’m saying is that if you compare Tenkaichi to Budokai, Budokai is a much better game. A helluva lot more fun. Tenkaichi made too many stupid changes that ruined it for me and a lot of other people.

the japanese name is DBZ Sparking Meteor, if anyone cares
Magic Box screenshots show King Cold and King Vegeta playable :o

I’ll stick with the 2nd one. I’m sure they both will play exactly the same, anyways.

wtf…another one? where is our budokai 4 at >:( other than add weak new characters and possible online play there’s no reason to continue tenkaichi.

I hope it’s not another kamehameha palet swap…

About fucking time King Cold is in a DBZ game. He wasn’t even mentioned much less playable in any of the 7 million games released.

…huh, I guess they’re doing that on purpose. YOU WANT EVERY DBZ/GT CHARACTER? WAIT UNTIL THE SEQUEL

i remember the developer saying he wanted to put this one online

i guess if theres a create a character option this would be good news.

but i doubt it

Seriously?

There’s really no chance B3 is better than T2. I prefer T2 myself (not trying to say its better, but it boils down to taste). There’s far more flexibility with the engine, the mind games are a hell of alot more confusing, and the game is also much more balanced than than Budokais in general (I’m not sure about SB: AR, but SB and all the Budokais before it had terrible balance).

When you fight Piccolo in Budokai 3, you know what you’re up against. You will know the general strategy of that Piccolo player, and what chains that Piccolo player will use (you know that Piccolo will spam his ->P chains for zoning). But in BT2, you have no idea what the Piccolo player will do to confuse you. All you know is that he has a flexible melee, an unblockable B2, awesome ki blasts, and deadly B1s.

This game needs online play, there is a whole stealth element with the ki-sensing stuff that is kinda lost with split screen.

And man, how many more characters can they put in? They’re already pushing it with the “what-if” Oozaru transformations in BT2. So, King Cold and King Vegeta…pretty obscure. Are we gonna start seeing guys like Bacterian? Drum? Panputt? Dr. Briefs’ cat?

my money’s on Ox King, Spopovitch, and the farmer with a shotgun with a power level of 5 :x

and Sprawlers, I much agree. people didnt get into the game nearly enough to see the mixup possibilities. sure, someone could just pick up Burter and try and overwhelm you with his ridiculous speed and rushdown, but another Burter player could use projectiles to mask throw confirms, which would lead into his Ginyu Taunt, which would put him at Sparking instantly, at which point they could either use the meter boost to rush down like crazy or B2 for free
or they could just use throws to get semi-free Rushes…there’s a lot of metagame and planning ahead of the other person involved that a lot of people who played it didnt seem to think about
it also seems like the kind of game where the only super-fucked up shit that exists in the game ( see Transform combos ), you’d have to fuck up really bad to get hit with it
