Ok i’ll be waiting to see these videos
I was most successful with Early goku and omega shenron, but my favourite characters were Bardock and Burter. I will always main Bardock in DBZ games cos he’s my favourite in the series and Burter is so much fun to use in the games
i’m sorry, but i completely disagree with all of this.
ring outs in world tourney stage, i have no problem with in competitive play.
ring outs are just a part of the game, and can make competitive play more fun by frenetic factor.–though i’ll admit the giant ape form of saiyans can make things unbalanced for anyone facing them, but still.
sure there is a tier list for these characters…but saying an already unbalanced game is going to get more balance by banning custom characters, makes no sense to me.
i think customizing characters can actually balance these unbalanced match ups, and should be rule of law.
but, we can make it so overall capsule numerics for 7 slots shouldn’t go over 30, might work out for everyone.
how else would videl compete with broly?
having videl get +10 for b1, +10 for speed, and +10 for defense(0 for all other attributes) might work for opposing broly with +10 in attack, +10 in b2, and +10 in ultimate blast(0 for all other attributes).
now there is balance, or at least “the potential for balance.”
normal/breakthrough for broly and videl…thats not ever gonna work out for the videl player at all.
^ You’re welcome to your opinion, but anyone who actually plays the game (not the theory fighter you’re talking about) knows that customs are just ridiculous. Cooler’s spaceship, Majin Vegeta, hell I’ll even admit me bumping up Kid Goku (already a upper tier character) with defensive vest and shit is crazy.
You like the World Tournament stage and customs? That’s cool, man. But if you ever hold a tournament for this game don’t expect anyone who knows their stuff to participate under that ruleset.
And you using the custom/tournament stage argument for Videl for crazy. You don’t like that she sucks? Tough stuff; pick a better character. BTW, the tier list doesn’t change that much with customs so I don’t see the point anyway.
welp, at least i’m trying to expand the roster of unexpected characters that you would see used in a tourney.
or we can all keep watching vegito versus ss4 goku matches 4ever.
if i was makin a tourney, it would be like this
best 2/3 matches.
world tournament stage ONLY stage used.
custom characters only-max numerical value of all capsules once summed up cannot exceed 55. all 7 capsule slots must be used.
semi-finalists best 3/5 matches.
custom button configuration is ok to use.
matches will be fast, frenetic, fun, and we would all get to see interesting match ups between less than used characters.
but thats just my opinion.
its not like i personally would go to digimonemperor’s tourney since according to his rules, i can’t use personal button customization settings, and i never used the default button layout for the dbz tenkaichi series, which means i am waaaay too used to my button configuration to even contemplate trying to play someone who’s at a high level,
that means that while i’m busy trying to hit the square button to guard, instead of circle(default), and getting my ass handed to me, not cuz i don’t know how to play, but for hitting the wrong button out of sheer habit.
according to digimonemperor’s rules…half of the peeps who made the mistake of NOT using default button layouts when they first got initiated and accustomed to the game…aren’t gonna show up cuz for that default button layout rule alone.
thats 50% of peeps gone from the mix up from the getgo. if not more.
which means seeing the same people at the same tourneys over n over again, with no variation to that group.
it doesn’t take that long to reconfigure button layouts in ops mode. peeps should be considerate enough to wait 1 minute for a challenger to reconfigure their settings. or is that asking for too much?
Actually, I was just talking about Budokai…I have no opinion on Tenkaichi.
Giant ape characters aren’t unfair in T3 yeah certain characters will have difficulty fighting an ape but certain characters can hack away at Giant ape easilly, like time chamber Trunks, he cuts through most if not all Oozaru easilly. I don’t think tenkaichi is meant to be played one on one thats the thing, which is why it has normal team battle and ratio team battle.
do you guys actually play with a lot of people? because you cant really judge it properly if it’s just three of you rocking it
i’m just surprised no one has mentioned that import psp DBZ tag game yet.
i’m wondering if its good or not.
if anyone has it, let the rest of us know.
I had a lot fun with BT3, I was playing almost the entire cast, which is impossible for me to do in other fighting games. But I prefer Infinite World and Burst Limit, especially IW.
Has there been a game on the level of Budokai 3, or even better?
I wonder…is there anything stopping them from redoing TB3’s graphics to Raging Blast 2’s standards and doing a next-gen re-release?
I think that’s what RB3 is going to be.
Still waiting for BL3 to happen so I can stop playing BT/RB.
Are they even going to make a BL2? Secondly, just play Budokai 3…I guarantee it would be better anyway than a possible BL3.
And does anyone find it funny that Budokai 1 still had the best cutscenes for Goku going Super Saiyan on Namek?
I have heard good things about BL and IW in terms of better balance then B3.
…Yeah, too bad they forgot about fun.
What makes them less fun? The basic engine is the same. So it’s really the tweaks that set it apart no?
haven’t played it yet. I just got B2 on gamecube. Thinking of getting it but nobody plays it and I don’t feel like going through all the sagas to unlock everything. I’m still at 91% in B2; I can only imagine how long it takes to get all 30+ characters when you only start out with like 5.
BL felt completely stripped down IMO. It just was in HD. IW had tweaks that just made me rage.
Just tweaking something can make the game less fun.
If you know what to do in B3, it’s not that big of a deal. The big deal is the massive grinding you have to do to fill everyone’s skills out. It took me FOREVER to get Bardock’s Spirit of Saiyans.
But the “story” mode is much better, and the game itself is much more polished over B2 IMO (of course, this is from a casual standpoint, competitive…meh, let others make that call).
Eh, I don’t worry about the story telling in DBZ games…come on guys reruns of this show have been on for over a decade. You know it all. I only care about it insofar as how painless it is to unlock shit. In that regard B3 is good, not tedious and fairly entertaining. B2 was horrible about it and I don’t know where that board game shit came from anyway.
IW is bad about it too, and I feel since its basically a tweaked B3 they should have allowed a transfer of a gamesave from B3 or something…don’t see why I have to unlock shit again. Speaking of balance, no IW is NOT more balanced than B3, don’t believe it. Also the system looks “deeper” on paper but for some reason just is less fun in practice. I can’t even explain it, it just is. As for balance, Goku got a shitload of buffs (completely safe, still has transformation guard breaks, fast, etc), along with the rest of the tops other people just can’t compete. Hell you have to use B3 Goku when you select him for fusion and you see just how unfair is. Also, the dragon rush and hyper mode were rarely used at high level play and the former a luck of the draw thing but I still liked them. I’ll stick with B3.
It had some interesting combos and good graphics…bout it. Don’t get the meter system, and Vegeta with big bang was extremely irritating.
Watching your character was pretty amusing imo.
I don’t care too much about story either if at least ONE game in the series has it right. B1 had it right and BT2 had it right. The rest of the games could be meh story wise, but at least you have one to go back to for story. I just still find it funny that all these years later, B1 still has the most epic first SSJ Transformation cutscene…hell, I think it might be better than the anime at times.
B3’s unlock system is fun ONLY when you know what to do. When you don’t…it’s a bit annoying.
