I’m not sure what to say about the instant charge moves. Since they’re instant I suppose you could guard break pretty easily.

And the demo vids of T3 look dope. All these new moves and combos. Once again Spike outdoes themselves.

They should have given the under rated saiyans a super saiyans form just to keep em interesting.

New demo video

I agree, it would have been cool to see Turles, or Bardock go SSJ. Or hell, it could be cool to see Vegeta with a ‘What if’ SSJ3 transformation, it could be done easily.

BTW, that demo was awesome. I’m glad they have Android Future Gohan in this now.

I am just curious, who is not in this game that was on the show and had a part longer than a minute? Is that purple guy Vegita took care of on namek in the game?

Nappa going SSJ would be cool too.

There was a small tournament today. About 11 people showed up. It was 3 on 3 format. The results were

1st. Syn (A.O.D) Variety: Uub, Android 13, Syn Shenron, Garlic Jr. Vegeta
2nd. Ishmel: Kid Buu/Uub/Ultimate Gohan
3rd. Dashawn: Trunks/SSJ4 Goku/ Baby
4th. Me: Androids/17,18,19/ Janemba

It was pretty interesting Syn pretty much owned everyone free with his 13 and Uub, everything else was ok though. Pretty fun time. Im getting a camcorder to get the stuff from next months tourny if anything.

Got some pretty good news in terms of match vids:

One of my good friends actually has T2 on the Wii, and I played him on the PS2 version the other day, and he did pretty well. I told him to get better so we can record some matches. He lives nearby so I’ll be able to get match vids up pretty easily.

yes…still waiting on those vids lol

I bought the game for the Wii and I think it is a good game but it isn’t great. It is fun to play and kind or reminds me of a 3D version of Marvel vs Capcom 2 as far as the massive amounts of characters in it and the massive amounts of damage the moves do. I am big fan of the anime series and felt the other games in the series are lack luster because the story wasn’t exactly accurate to the series. I have no gripes about the game play and depth, it is good and it does compare to my other favorites (VF, MvC2, CvS2, VF, SF, Tekken, etc) and has the potential depth of all the games I just mentioned if one really uses what the game has to offer and doesn’t just press buttons really fast. The main issue I have with it is that 7 dragons in GT where are they at, at least they finally introduced super 17, Bojack, and few other movie related villains to make up for it at least.

LOL, yes he is. He was in BT2 also. Don’t worry, it looks like there’s going to be even MORE obscure characters in BT3.

Ultimate Gohan and untransformed garlic jr. should be banned. Gohan for being a straight up power house and garlic jr. for his infinite. If you don’t know what it is I don’t care because this game is just as broken as the first tenkaichi. When T3 comes out I will record matches of me and my friend. The only reason we didn’t do anything with T2 is because we played the game out in about a month exploiting all the best characters. Far to broken to take the game seriously. The best characters are the ones with blast gauge teleports because its near impossible after the first dragon smash to escape the 3 to 4 follow ups that come next. So mix up mix up mix up then catch them in a dragon smash for easy damage. Thats all the game is.

shakes his head

Its far more complex then what your making it sound. Your making it sound like thats all you have to do to win and none of it is true. I’ve seen infinites and all the other broken stuff but have yet to see it executed in a actual match. Why? Perhaps like most people think …people suck or it can be that someone really good in the game knows the engine and mechanics enough not to be put in those situations. You have to look at it like that. I see high level in this game all the time and I see so many things and situations stuff and go wow! Thats possible? You can do tag combos and dragon smashes into super but after 2 it breaks because of the games barrier limit.
Although I dont have any footage yet I will soon and then people like yourself can possibly have a different if not broadened perspective. Also it would be nice if you and your friend can record a match or two and upload it for us to see. Im curious to see what your form of broken is!

Oh btw its not 100% confirmed but a Budokai Tenkaichi 2 tournament may be present at this years Digital Life Expo at the Jacob Javitz center. Once i get a confirm I’ll keep it posted.

Except by teleporting. In fact the game is hardly broken, because no infinities are possible (aside from some of the ones from the back, but just about everyone can do those), as every move that requires a charge attack, B2, etc can be teleported. You’d do well to read the first page of the thread. Once you realize the beauty of teleportation, you realize this game is hardly broken. BTW, dragon smashes are in theory, completely useless, as they’re the easiest attacks to teleport escape from. Don’t want to sound like an ass, but if you really think dragon smashes are that useful, you really have to relearn the game. Its like playing Budokai without knowing how to cancel.

Ultimate Gohan is good, but he’s definitely not the best.

Edit: Thought I’d repost this

This was recorded at work…behind the counter…AT the register.

Excuses aside…this is my 1st interweb video…next will be better promise.

Whatever you guys can argue with me all you want. It was me against my friend and he could infinite me with garlic jr. untransformed(which had nothing to do with getting behind the person). It does very very little damage because of all the scaling but doesn’t matter because it’s an infinite and got 125 hits on me before I finally escaped it with 1 gauge of health left.

Jeron I would if it were like 4 months ago when the game came out. However I didin’t come up with the infinite and I think it would be pointless for me to record myself playing the computer because my friend doesn’t even have the game anymore.

And sprawlers what the fuck are you talking about. I’m talking about follow up dragon smashes when your life is low. When your life get’s lower you have to battle by repeatedly mashing the guard button to even re-stabilize yourself and its hard enough just to gain control then let alone gain control and teleport manualy. The first tenkaichi was more balanced in a sense were if you just entered a button combo and you would escape the follow up however which leaded to baiting and the such witch lead to even more brokenness.

And I know you can teleprot blast 2s but AT LEAST YOU ESCAPE the FREE DAMAGE!!!
One dragons smash = not free damage because your opponent can avoid them, HOWEVER. THE THREE or 4 to follow ARE!!! And no one can teleport out of my first dragon smashes unless there a fucking robot and have a controller reader plugged in because the mixups I use are so complex. Between step in guard breakers with triangle, flying kicks, left and right triangle all mixed up either after the first string of combos after step ins. The game is ridiculous as long as your opponent is mixing the fuck up. Im pretty sure that as long as your on the offensive in this game the defense has NOTHING except hard to time impossible manual teleports which are only possible if your opponent keeps using the same attack pattern.

What does this have to do with having low life? Also, you can teleport before gaining control. The AI does it all the time, only with follow up dragon smashes.

In fact, no. Have you played against the AI? If so, have you done dragon smash follow ups? Ever noticed how they escaped even though there was no possibly way they could’ve recovered? Thats right… even if you have to tap O to stabilize yourself, you can time a teleport escape, which is a point I reiterated earlier. And with dragon smash follows ups, its only easier to time.

Okay. You just have to keep in mind that if you step in and try to use a charge attack, chances are your opponent can do the same thing, and you’re back to square one. Mix ups are nice, but the defence is very much capable of fighting back.

Watch my match vids and critique them please. The fact that you don’t care whether or not someone argues with you tells me that you think you know everything there is to know about T2. So would you like to critique my match vids? Very few actually have.

Not to mention stepping in is a huge mechanic which adds alot of defensive strategy. You can mix up all you want, but most mix ups involve the use of charge attacks, which can be blocked, teleported, and stepped in.

Edit:

The depth of a fighting game is never discovered by two people spending a month playing out who they think are broken characters. The depth of fighting games is discovered by a whole community who plays and discusses the game for years. Heck, you didn’t even know it follow up dragon smashes could be teleport escaped in the first place. You didn’t even know you could time a teleport escape while trying to tap guard to stabilize. That’s a huge element to Tenkaichi gameplay that people miss. You might want to change your perspective.
