i hope this doesnt fall into the same clunky playstyle as other dbz games. I dont think anyone will accurately create a dbz game that gets the feel as the show. Some have come close though.
One thing I like about the Trunks vs Recoome match was that Trunks dodged Recoome’s attack into a grab. NICE!

There are still cancel combos in this game so…yeah…still pretty broken actually and since capsules no longer exist I think characters with good range and good combos will dominate.

Sorry for the double post, but this really pissed me off: I commented on a DBZ video yesterday (the Trunks vs Reccoome fight, to be exact - [media=youtube]I2WxC6z_VPw#54wQ2WkiyiE[/media] ) saying that Budokai 3 and Burst Limit have more depth and strategy than the Tenkaichi series. This is what annoys me about this game. It’s just a street fighter clone, which IMO had no depth. It’s also too easy to die in this game while in the show and the tenkaichi series it took alot of hits to kill someone.
Now. Let’s break this down, bit by bit. Street Fighter clone, he says. Interesting, considering Super Dragon Ball Z was the game closest to to a Street Fighter game (combos and all). He also says the games have no depth. I forgot mashing to buttons to attack and flying around all the time counted as deep gameplay. Seriously, I am tired of these kids that pick up any BT game before playing Budokai 3 and say Budokai 3 sucks because it’s “boring” (read: requires skill). And what’s this bull about BT games let you take “more hits”? It’s called a HANDICAP, and every Budokai game had one. The difference is that the custom system (I don’t know how they messed it up so bad going from BT2 to BT3) built in more health, and characters that were stronger had more health (which made things REALLY uneven).

Gameplay looks pretty solid, so I’ll get this when it comes out.
Ok…first off I want to say for the record that I agree with you in terms of budokai 3 having more depth than the tenkaichi games and master whatevermacallit is probably a dumbass. However, I disagree with this notion that I feel that I’m getting from you that sounds like ‘Tenkaichi doesn’t have any depth at all’. I enjoyed watching the evolution of the tenkaichi series all the way up to the 3rd one and while yes of course there’s only technically ‘one attack button’, to put the game below the gba games is reeeeeally harsh. Especially considering that so called mashing of buttons in Tenkaichi 3 will get your ass countered quickly. You couldn’t just mash attack button all day on in the game because of the z counter system and it made you actually try and mix up. Not to mention you could option to sacrifice a portion of your life bar and get them off of you so you can re-evaluate the situation. That’s just my opinion though.
The tenkaichi games do have depth… It’s just that each characters has as much depth as the other.:shake:
So in the end it comes down to customs or base stats.
A lot of people shit on Tenkaichi because they changed shit from budokai. Whoever you are, you’re just as bad as KOF players who bitch about tagging or SF players who bitch about parries and have no intelligent response besides “negged” and “fuck off”.
Apparently no one posted that ALL THE TENKAICHI GAMES SCORED HIGHER THAN THE BUDOKAI AND THE GBA GAMES BY EVERY GAME MAGAZINE/SITE. So… please be able to tell between PERSONAL opinion and FACTS.
If you hate the Tenkaichi/budokai/GBA/PSP games : I DON’T CARE AND NO ONE ELSE DOES. You like what you like and that is it. So respect that people will prefer what they do. Don’t start some dumbass war about which game is better and shit like that.
