Yeah, you’re right. I didn’t mean to say the Tenkaichi series had no depth at all. I played through the series and enjoyed how each game progressively got better (the bigger gap being between the first two games), but the when the third game came out, it felt like they could have done more with it IMO. It updated a few things, and looked better, but it didn’t give the sense of upgrade that Budokai 3 gave to Budokai 2.
Oh, and the tier thing was just a joke. I like most of the GBA games (Buu’s Fury and Super Sonic Warriors, especially), but I haven’t played any of the card games. If I had made the tier myself, I probably would have just put the Budokai games together, then BT3, GBA games and BT1/2. And then the PS1 games (I loved Legends, btw) And then DBGT Final Bout all the way at the bottom… Oh god what a horrible game.
EDIT: I completely forgot about the SNES games. Butoden 2 and Hyper Dimension were great fighting games (SB3 was, too, but I enjoy 2 more). Legend of the Super Saiyan is one of my favorite games, actually…
gameplay wise bt2 is a fucking joke compared to bt3, you dont sound like someone who has played it deep enough to know what your talking about
fighting game wise as you’re judging it all is where it improved most
this vid will show depth in range, depth in options and depth in enviroment, there are one or two options that doesnt get abused in this vid but its pretty good overall
I didn’t mean to start a “Which is Better” argument, guys. Sorry.
Now on to replying…
No, no, no. I’m not judging the game solely on how much it has improved (BT2-BT3). I haven’t even really explained my opinion on the actual fighting (just that I don’t consider it as deep as say, Budokai 3, but maybe more so than Super DBZ which I enjoy as well). And of course I didn’t sound like someone that had played the game deep enough: I didn’t say anything but BT3 didn’t improve much over BT2. BT1 was a joke compared to the sequel, and BT3 was the perfection and fine tuning.
I mean, the video you linked shows nothing new to me. I didn’t buy the game to play for a day and then sleep on it. I’ve payed attention to others playing it, strategies and combos. I’ve even put in enough time in the game to become adept. I could maybe keep up with the players in the video.
You have to understand, just because I don’t necessarily LIKE the game as much as you doesn’t mean I don’t understand how it works… In fact, you have to know deeply know anything to dislike it in the first place, otherwise you don’t have anything to base your OPINIONS on.
EDIT: In case anyone wants a download of the theme song for BL, here’s a link http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IYEPQCYY (I haven’t downloaded it, yet, so I can’t verify the quality.)
Thanks for track, too bad it’s so short. Either way, appreciate it, and hopefully they’ll release a full version seeing as this one is 1:33 long. I also want the instrumental track featured in the Gohan vs Cell match. That track is too wicked. :looney:
Yeah, I’m sure it’ll be released shortly after the games comes out. I love the instrumentals for B2, B3 and BT3.
And as far as the extra bonus go… Maaaaaaaaan, I already have up to the Trunks saga, so I want the movie. But oh well, I guess I can sell it, or something, haha. The shirts looks cool, too. Just hope they’re not too big (like the shirt Capcom sent me with Battle Network 4), because I’m not too big.
I don’t have a 360…and DBZ on Blu-Ray looks mighty tempting.
But then again, this is EB Gamestop…so I have my distrusts about actually receiving the extras.
Goku vs Frieza Full Story Mode Fight

First video is EPIC. I haven’t watched the other two, yet, but they probably are, too. Still no word on when MS is releasing the demo. The page has been up on their site for a week, but nothing.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, the whole theme song is in the first video, so you can use a site like Zamzar to tip the music from it, or something.
Of course there will be a full track, just as sure as the american intro will only be instrumental. They do this with every game. You only get the first verse in the intro. This may be short, but it will tide me over until the single drops. Hironobu has done it again.
Goku vs Frieza was the most epic shit i seen in a dbz game for a while now. It was like it really was the cartoon. Damn it’s sad I want to really hate this shit because it’s a dbz game. But I already know as soon as it comes out I’m pretty much gonna buy it.
I’m glad it doesn’t seem as stale or stiff as the other budokai games before it. I couldn’t watch a dbz game besides super without falling asleep. Although I’ve seen some B3 matches that actually looked pretty intense but usually they are mirror Goku matches, and they are chocked full of lame looking dragon fist spam.
@ Hatred Edge: indeed this thread needs more Vegeta. But it needs a lot more of Cell. I have yet to see a Super Perfect Cell match yet.
