as someone who never played any DBZ game, what makes this one’s gameplay better than the old ones?
While I say it’s somewhat better than Budokai 3 (which since it’s launch has been the best DBZ game out until BL), B3 had more complicated cancels, but weren’t impossible to learn. Really the only thing wrong with Budokai 3 was the Hyper Mode.
I hear Burst Limit has controls like the PSP DBZ games, but tweaked a bit. From what I’ve played, I’d give it a thumbs up. I’m picking it up, today.
I just playtested budokai 3 at work today…man that games, visually doesn’t compare to B.L. and speed wise, it’s fucking turtle molasses.
DBZ’s gameplay never truly changes. Cancels, Ki attacks, Ki shouts etc are all still there. DB T series added stun attaacks. BL didn’t really add anything IMO. It just looks better than the others and is closer to Budokai.
Goten X: Your post baffles me. Worldwide Tenkaichi 3 is rated higher than Budokai 3. And not by a small margin. The truth is that A)People tend to not like change like the SF3 parry haters and the KOFXI tag haters and want the game closer to their favorite version. In your case and some others Budokai 3. And/or B)Having played through all the DBZ games on PS2, one does become tired by the time Tenkaichi 2 or 3 came out and said fuck it(like me).
oh lord, dont get me started on why i think tenkaichi 3 is better than budokai 3 -_-;
I need to get this if only because i like the dragon ball games
how does this game run online?
hello every 1 i made a good games thread. heres the link
i got the demo and i must admit it is pretty fun
the game is fun but i seriously dont put it above tenkaichi 3
im gonna have to repeat that like every two pages
Quit basing shit on fucking sales and popularity. Last I checked, people rated games off of it’s quality. A majority of the people that like Budokai Tenkaichi so much played it before Budokai, and once they played the latter they were bored because it was not as fast.
I am really tired of having to defend my opinion on this shit. I was fucking excited when I first saw the screens for the first game over three years ago. I saw the game in action, said it was awesome. I bought the games, even pre-ordered the third. FIVE months in advance. And what did I get? I got to play with General Blue. GENERAL FUCKING BLUE.
I Your points on XI and SFIII are null and void, as well, because I have no problem with change. I have a problem when having an excessive amount of characters in a game has taken precedence over the actual game play mechanics. I never got tired of the games. I got Budokai as soon as I got a PS2, and 2/3 as soon as they came out.
But wait. Why are YOU upset? Bitches wanna BAWWW at me for giving an opinion they don’t like, but it’s all good when it comes to them? Fuck that noise. Don’t stereotype homies before you know what’s up.
Man, I didn’t even SAY I don’t like Budokai Tenkaichi.
I read in PS3 Beyond’s review that it didn’t allow people to mash buttons and ki built up a bit slower to even things out.
I prefer Burst Limit to Tenkaichi 3 because of the simplification of the system. Granted the Tenkaichi series was a great break and difference from when Dimps made the original series but I much preferred this style.
And at least most of the characters are unique. BT3 has like 150 characters that are near identical bar cosmetics.
Still doesn’t stop me playing BT3 though, I just like this new BL game. And I hope they’re planning a BL2 with Buu.
when and if i get this game, Ill probably be playing yamcha lol
Anyword on how this game plays for the 360 online?
i played all the dbz games from b1 to bt3, all of us loved the dbz games but mainly cos it was dbz, we have plenty of other superior 1 vs 1 fighting games to play. we prefered bt3 to anything cos it included team battle, one that actually changes the tide of battle depending on who you chose and how you used that character
and sorry but goten X if you look at bt3 as just allowing you to play as general blue then where are you? are you talking about the depth of the game as comparison or are you talking about content? yeah all the characters seem identicle to the untrained eye but they most deffinetly arent timing/distance wise, future versions im sure will improve so much. we should be backing bt so they make the genre as best as they can, cos thats closer to real dragon ball Z, budokai isnt at all.
bt has potential- what would happen if street fighter 2 stopped at turbo?
fighting games need to go forward, dbz is one of the only genre’s that could get away with it and get sales. im really thinking fighting games are dying now, it seems like theres no hope
You are about to make me rage. I more than explained to YOU why I disliked the game. The line about General Blue was a JOKE.
EDIT:
Man, Yamcha has some sick cancels. If you use a Kamehameha to cancel, tap back twice and square/X, it feels soooooo good.
people always pick the ssjs, spam ultimates, quit before they lost to keep up rank and some lagging here and there.
Wait, so… When you drop a fight purposely you don’t get a lose? Man, I sense a whole bunch of drops coming our way…
I read somewhere this morning about the lag, but yeah, it said it wasn’t anything too serious.
epic drops. every noob picks vegeta to spam big bang attack which is so broken its retarded.
I plan to pick this up soon, broken online play or not. At least the people here on SRK will give me a respectable fight. Now just have to learn how to do the teleports and Broly will wreck havok on all…
I honestly want the game for the story and cut scenes. Online can kill itself.
oh yeah sorry im just getting carried away supporting new blood
