I agree about the bigass mega attack. I think some characters should have supers that take a bunch of bars, aren’t optimal at all and are hard to connect with, but do an insta-kill or close to it. If any game should have it, it should be this one. Vegeta or Cell’s self-destruct doing massive damage but bringing you to a pixel of health like dan’s raging demon would be an example off the top of my head. Meteor sized spirit bomb could be another.
Random note on the TCG, mostly because boredom on Sunday. Actually went really well testing out the game at locals. It’s ironic, I also had no desire to play this game at all initially because it was trash in Japan. But between cleaning up the actual game…and the damn visuals…I’m in. I mean look at this.
Tribeam/Kikoho doing massive damage if you spend your hp would be pretty great. One of the coolest feats in Tenkaichi that you could keep shooting as long as you had hp left.
-They wanted to reach a broad audience with Xenoverse 1 and 2 and are now trying to convert the more casual player into fans of 2D fighting games
-They couldn’t do something as close as the anime before because of a lack of power. The XB1, PS4 and PC allow them to do that now
-They simplified the control scheme compared to the usual Arc System Works games to accommodate casual gamers, but the 3 vs 3 and the assists system is meant to cater to the hardcore
-The team based combat is a way for them to balance the different power level, everyone has advantages and inconveniences
-Transformation are tied to specific attacks. Goku for exemple won’t be able to turn SSJ3 in the middle of a fight and stay that way. It’ll be temporary
-They wanted every character to be unique so expect less characters then in Xenoverse
-Characters are most likely going to come from different eras
-Alternative color costumes aren’t planned because it changes the hitbox, might be added later on if there’s enough support for it
-They’re focused on the gameplay and the multiplayer but there’s going to be a story mode as well as more modes outside of those
Higher resolution for the Pro and the X1X
-No cross play but if there’s enough support for it they’ll consider it
-No power limitation to get it working on the Switch, If they keep seeing fan interest for it they’ll maybe release a Switch version down the road
You can tell the combos are going to be streamlined. All the camera angle changes and hit stop you see during a lot of moves had me guessing that the combos are going to be very simple.
However between it being a 3v3 game, an asw game, and having people breaking it down, I’m sure some cool shit is going to be found.
