Gotenks pressure is pretty good though I would say. If he has meter he can push you into the corner with his 236 H hold forward. I think it takes 4 full chain series to push from corner to corner on block. That’s 4 meters, but the thing to take away is that from around midscreen or so, you can push your opponent into the corner with 2 meters and if you leave a gap you allow your assists to start cooling down so that you don’t need all that meter… so basically you get oppressive pressure for a VERY long time with some meter and assists. Gotenks is a walking pile of blocking pressure.
Actually now that I watch that video, it’s not talking about assist crossups. I can jump over my opponent call an assist before I land and they can block the wrong direction and not get hit… while on the ground. I tested this months ago and it works against every assist I used. That vid is basically saying you have to jump to get crossup protection… or something. It just means the flag is on more things, not that what I said was wrong. Need to explore this more.
Yeah, sorry, what I said was true. Crossup protection against assists still works whether I do a superjump and call an assist or regular jump and call an assist or call an assist while I’m on the ground then superjump or regular jump. Tested with kid buu assist. This is definitley about the moves themselves. The crossup protection that video is talking about is a different flag, but that doesn’t mean the assist flag isn’t being used. Yamcha rekka definitley crosses up. I just tested it. Also it definitely doesn’t let assists crossup, but with an assist with low blockstun you can cover the startup time of the move, then crossup with Yamcha. This is because of the small blockstun. However this has nothing to do with crossup protection. Longer blockstun moves can still be used to crossup with WFF if you delay the crossup to hit as the assists blockstun ends.
So basically using the end of assist blockstun, you can crossup, throw, overhead, overhead twice or frame trap with Yamcha.
While I don’t mind them leaving some mystery with the really short reveal trailers, I wish they’d at least bother to show what the new characters’ assists are.
shiver oh boy bardock makes him look pretty boring… even more so than I thought. I was thinking when he turned into SSJ he was gonna have some slam stuff or something but that was even more generic that I already fearing.
Please video game gods when they get to vegito dont make me totally quit the game
