Bulma in a mech, right up ASW’s alley.
Man, part of the reason I play fighting games is so I can beast on pretty boys like your boy Gohan.
If I play this game I’m turning that motherfucker into a cookie every chance I get.
Yeah pretty boy have such a hard time in fighting games, I’m sure you can smack my Dong Hwan in Garou :s
Final boss will probably be Merged Zamasu. Calling it now!
Final boss will be goku with some crazy new idea of his that threatens everyones lives needlessly. Its finally time to put him down for good.
Valoon:But she did say that they won’t have two slots for the same characters. As in not two Goku.
That’s not exactly what she said. She confirmed that, yes, transformations will be a part of certain characters’ supers (like SSJ3 was with Goku) or installs (like with Freeza), But she did not explicitly de-confirm Blue Goku being a separate character in the same breath. And didn’t have to, because the way the question was asked, she was able to be a bit more evasive and non-committal about it. It’d also fly right in the face of a guy I know on GAF who both was aware of this game’s existence months prior and said he saw Goku Blue as his own character slot, months ago. Which would make sense, because Super Blue is not just a transformation, it’s a separate version of Goku who reflects how the character has evolved in Super, and so uses different techniques that reflect that much.
Yea Blue goku uses different techniques like Kamehameha and ki blasts, and strength and speed.
So unique.
SSJ blue goku should just be like, a boss character.
You pick him, you only get him, no team of 3.
I am sure blues will be at least in the story, as for the versus we’ll see. I do get that feeling that they got us with some mixup because it’s weird that only gohan would have a level 5 super. Some shown characters might be actually unfinished.
Father Son Kamehameha is level 3 or 5. Level 5 is the empowered double damage one. So I can assume Goku might have a level 5, which may end up being either SSJB or something else.
Frieza has three level 3s (Golden Frieza, his wakeup specific level 3, and there was one Buff*Frieza level 3 that was only shown in one video, but it whiffed completely).

Well there we go, I finally have something to nitpick about this game. Wasting a slot on the same character instead of getting someone new, probably with reused assets. Arcsys don’t Capcom us pls.
Given ASW history with “clones” i am not really worried.
Order Sol and Sol are 2 completely different beasts, the same for Ky and Robo-Ky.

To quote myself from earlier:
For example, Extreme Butoden gave Blue Goku this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMUo_lQIVws
And that game was before he learned stuff like the [details=Spoiler]stacking Kaio-ken on top of Blue in the Universe 6 v. Universe 7 tournament, and the Mafuba/Containment Wave later on in the Goku Black arc, from Roshi.[/details]. Arc would have plenty to work with to make sure the Blues were as unique as Sol was to Order Sol, in other words.

yea but thats cause they have creative license with those characters. Its best they stay away from more saiyans and frieza stooges lest they want 80% of the game to look exactly the same.
Bulma, ChiChi, Dabura, Fat Janemba, and Babadi can make for unique characters. But there is no way you can make Zarbon, or trunks, not just look the same as everyone else.

You made it sound like other games have problems making their characters unique even when all they do is punching, kicking, special techniques and in some cases using weapons/swords

I’m using ASW standards for different characters.
The one thing i always hated about DBZ is how samey every one was up until about the buu sage/super. I understand the mass appeal and i know they are going to do what they can with the game, but damn son. If this was hunter x hunter i would have preordered the shit already without even looking at the gameplay, now i gotta have concerns and shit. I always have my reserves when it comes to DBZ games. Looks good so far though.

I would be worried if it was another company, but given ASW’s track record i think we are safe to assume that even if they add 2 more Goku’s and Vegetas, they will be diferent.
Goku for example can be mechanically very diferent by having 2 types of installs that power him up vastly but drain his health.
And the SSJ4s can be more like heavy hitters that are slower when compared to their other counterparts.
Eh…Considering that ASW did a better job differentiating their shotos than Capcom did for years, I wouldn’t worry too much about it.
BTW.
Anyone knows the benefits that Golden Freezer has over normal Freezer on the current build?
Does he do more damage? Charges his super more quickly?
