I wasn’t able to get my Q4RAF stick (Which works with BBCF and GGXrd2) to work with the DBFZ beta. Do you think it will work with the official release?
@dialupsucky
Your combo is literally the first thing on EHubs article about combos and tech in the beta. Pretty sure this will make people shut up about this nonsense of you stealing combos.
Nappa: did my guard point move, they hit a button they get smacked, and its safe? on block anyways.
Beerus: After dash is blocked, immediately backdash then cancel backdash into crouch medium. They hit any button it whiff punishes it immediately into full combo and they don’t have enough time to get off the ground again for anything and not get hit.
Im starting to feel dragon ball fighterz withdrawal now. Was getting my ass handed to me at firat then went through the tutorial and got a better grip of what to do and started winning. Game is fun regardless of losing or winning for me at the moment.
This game is crack. Particularly for me because I grew up with DB, DBZ etc and being able to play characters im familiar with , even though its a new game really got me hooked. It feels really responsive and the combo system is cool. I don’t know how this game looks to someone that doesn’t know or like the series, but for a fan its lit
Super Dash has a bunch of counters but it’s not always clear which situation to use them.
Just from my analysis after playing like 120 games or so.
2H: Solid answer most of the time assuming you are on the ground. Timing obviously changes depending on their distance from you, too early or too late means you are getting hit. I think that’s why you see even decent players getting clipped on the ground, mistimed 2H, of course online and netcode will be a factor.
Deflect: This was a decent answer when someone super dashes close, kinda just smacked em away, reset neutral, avoided the whole scramble situation following a blocked Super Dash. Timing more lenient than 2H but obviously the reward is way less.
DP/Parry: Another good ground option, character specific of course. With my team, Piccolo’s parry gets him a free hit, Gohan and Vegeta could spend bar to convert to a full combo.
Air Normal: Risky but meterless air option, requires a normal with good hitbox and active frames. Gohan’s jM seemed perfect for stuffing it.
Vanish: I didn’t really consider it worth the meter but success rate will be high.
Supers: I loved Vegeta for this since his Lvl 1 and Lvl 3 both work on ground and in air. I bodied a ton of super dashes with raw super though, costs meter also but option for guaranteed damage that doesn’t really require timing.
The go-to is of course 2H. My friend says 5L is an option, but I think it’s too easy to mistime especially online. Tbh, I can’t see Super Dash ever being an issue once we have access to the full game and Training Mode, but scrubs will still complain about it guaranteed.
Honestly shocked they posted a video of mine… but hey ill take it… Now I just gotta hope the other 3 get posted. And ya will see, i already had one of my videos demonetized now and youtube says its under review -_-
I have to say, man, I think everyone appreciates the tech, but man, I think you should have kept all of this under wraps for a bit because I’m almost 70% sure this is all getting gutted in the full game now.
Thanks dude, well I really hope they dont. Actually hearing that piccolo and 18 were toned down is a really awful thing I think. The game isnt even out yet. Hopefully the final version is different.
whatever the case though assuming other characters stay the same I still got other stuff to show theres still the cell stuff which some of it I was able to confirm works when I got him. And doing some guesstimating while playing and getting a feel I still think all that ginyu stuff I posted is going to work. I will be shocked if it doesnt more so actually.
Apparently word through the grape vine is some places are going to be getting the full version of the game with in a week so a week early. A dude alluded to me he could give me the hook up at a store and break the street date for a few extra bucks but I dunno will see lol
Geez. I have arthritis and even I got more wins than loses when I got to play on Saturday. Just block more than not at all and don’t neutral rush people that know how to uppercut and you’ll do alright in casual.
I’ve never had a problem vanishing out of someone’s DD. You can also block and start your own DD for a full combo. You can stuff it with any number of normals and pokes. Beam specials like a Kamehameha stuff it. You can straight up raw super from any point on the screen most of the time and get damage in. You can literally reflect the entire thing straight up and go in from there with whatever you feel like. Hell, Buu can just candy beam you. 18 can literally command grab you out of it. Gohan can just install whenever he wants for a free Power up AND do damage to you.
I’m not convinced at all the mechanic needs to be nerfed. And saying it’s hard to deal with online is hardly an excuse to change it considering online isn’t the way the game is meant to be TRULY experienced anyway. DD spammers were literally free wins for me every time it happened, without fail. There’s a neutral here to be played, and spamming DD whenever you’re in the neutral is gonna put you at a huge disadvantage simply for the fact that you’re way too predictable.
“Oh, I got a knockdown on him. He’s gonna hit DD as soon as he wakes up. I’ll just vanish, DD to him for full combo.”
“Oh, I blocked a DD. Just gonna perfect block into a teleport and continue on my way.”
“Ah, he started the round with a DD. Of course. I’ll just raw super for free damage.”
Idk, in my hundreds of matches not once do I feel like I lost because DD was being used egregiously. To me it seems like a nice mechanic that keeps the pace of the fight tense and in your face, while punishing those who think it’s a free pass to get in and apply pressure.
I’m honestly surprised how few people are complaining about X Factor in this game. Not that I think it hurts the game, just surprised at the lack of bitching.
The user base doesn’t know enough about the game to bitch about broken things. We literally have people complaining about getting comboed
You guys really need to dial back your expectations of the player base. If your reading this, you are likely in the top 1% of all dbzf players (at least in the first month.)
