Dragon Ball FighterZ: Legendary Saiyans Edition

So now the name of the game becomes, what is the best thing to do to bait and then punish a reflect attempt. And after your opponent gets a reflect, what is in general the safest option to take.

And expect reflect to get nerfed straight to the depths of the underworld in future patches.

That said as annoying as this is, reflect mostly just resets to neutral. Yohosie mentioned that command grabs will be strong early on in the meta. Reflect is probably why SO many characters have command grabs.

i hated that character in nier automata

Is deflect active frame one only to projectiles or all attacks? I’m also curious how many active frames it actually has.

Knowing ASW, i am not even sure if we will have to wait that long.
For all what we know that could have already changed for the new beta/end build. (Or not )

Sometimes they add some really busted stuff on their betas/location tests just to remove them on the final release.

So wait… Clayton was right again? Who is this guy. How has he been right about everything he said in this thread since the game was announced and other games when ever he posts about them?

Why do people need to constantly have someone else say its true and then its true but when I say it… it wasnt true… Why would I waste my time posting about the game the strats for it, meta, combos etc just to lie about it? I know its a meme to lie on the internet but I have better things to do with my life. Ive been right other games as well that ive posted. Its almost like you guys are gonna make me have to enter some tournaments again win them so people remember my name besides from combo videos or something… but meh I know I have no plan to do that so. Hell lets watch what my one min theory about ginyu be true as well. Rather than be a complicated kinda character he looks pretty simple and easy to get a gist of what youre doing. As long as you can cancel his hards in the air to ginyu force. And he follows other rules of the game chain wise with his regular buttons. Hell fuck if the final version of the game stays the same maybe ill do a combo video for him first even though I dont care for him.

Anyway sad thing is this conversation I tried to have a few pages ago, and even months and months ago, and I was trying to have conversations about how to bait reflect and i talked about the characters that can rinse repeat their fireballs and strats against it. Because ya months ago I said deflecting was to good, and theres nothing to stop anyone from doing it right now when you can, theres no risk to do it, and even my one theory proves true that I posted many times its actually kinda SAFE to do. So all you can do is try then guess what as the situation is in a way back at neutral.

I think the game should have moves programed in that can not be deflected. So you could theoretically have situations where you get the guy stuck deflecting things, and then you do your “deflect break” or whatever kinda mumbo jumbo name they give it.

((Are you Clayton?))

no im “jubrekit jubawdit” from the jungle of antartica and I have 3 inverted nipples.

No, this is Clayton

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqUA-vRcwRM

I know of exactly two Claytons. One is a caricature of a White Supremacist and one is a Disney Villain.

I’m starting to think ‘Clayton’ is exclusively an evil name. Like how ‘Beauregard’ is exclusively a snooty asshole name

Clayton I am honestly interested in the childhood you had.

Do you have a good relationship with your parents?

Ha actually I had a pretty extreme life. My family in general is not very lovey dovey. Abuse blah blah. Told dad he was gonna die he went and shot himself anyway blah blah… Even when i was first having that dying stuff going on I actually kinda told friends if things go bad, and I was thinking about making a will I didnt want anything to go to my family. But thats another story lol. I mean thats why I liked video games as a kid to escape things, I wanted to have a different life, I grew up a nerd, unpopular getting beat up at the bus stop everyday. Thats why even after getting a job as a model I still played video games. Im just a nerd. Got sick and well, im still a nerd even if I dont enter tournaments anymore. I enjoy the thought even though at the end of the day I only have so much will or motivation to play them. Im fine with being a adult and just enjoying a hobby by making combo videos for them or randomly talking about them on a forum. But hey I guess people would rather say my posts are long, yet they will read twitters busted up 10 post responses to get something they could have somewhere else.

It’s all coming together

It’s like…you need to “prove” yourself all the time in a videogame of all things.

Bruh.

We all respect you.

Chill dawg.

And dammit stop feeling like you need to prove yourself all the time.

Now it all makes sense.

I need to buy a stick for this game

Not sure what my attitude has to do with life anyway. Im merely showing the same respect that has been shown to me in this thread. Ive posted all the info for the game mechanically speaking before it even had official names. How the game worked all that stuff. And ive been constantly proven right over and over and over again. Even after all my posts have gotten all these dislike posts. How long ago now was it that it was possible to do those dragon rush throw loops etc? Back during the summer. Do you remember who said how to do those and that they would be possible? Ya me. And people were like no you cant it wont work blah blah. Then people tried and it was like oh i guess it does work.

Ive blown up the game with out even playing it once. Thats a fact right now. Whether you dislike me or want me to be wrong or not. I havnt even bothered to post all the stuff I know because its become silly how everytime its the same thing. Do people know you can still OTG with normals? No you cant clayton you might say. Well… it still works and i even saved the last video I saw it in. I just dont feel like posting it here for someone else to then say they found it. Do you know you can make your attacks unblockable? Theres videos of it. Tell us how its done clayton blah blah show us. Why would I show everything when people cant even keep up with the stuff as it is that ive posted? Do I need to spoil the whole game? People as we can see still cant get over this concept of just deflecting that I brought up months ago. Now other people post it on twitter so its true? What? Months late bro. So ya one thing at a time.

Will all this stuff work in the final version of the game? No… never claimed it will, I always say im only talking about the current versions of the game that anyone if they wanted to take the time, could see in videos. And when I post I always say things like “we know”… Not just saying things like “i know” because as a COMMUNITY it has been shown in videos. Im not claiming ownership over any videos that arent mine. Ive tried to be civil actually.

Moving back to the assist/lock down topic again…

Whatever the case what im saying is, right now, the game is not lacking in defensive options. If anything it is extremely generous towards what we can do. So the question im asking is what is really locking people down right now? These conversations I brought up months ago, and just a few pages ago, its not new. So ok yes I agree having a DP assist for offensive purpose is good, and it should be invincible. Why wouldnt a dp assist be invincible its stupid to assume or not want it to be. But again from this defensive aspect of the conversation. Who is locking down who and how? Lets look at some lets call them defensive facts of the game right now.

-fireballs… the same moves that are the most visually speaking look like they lock you down…on block you can cancel with deflect. There is no timing to this. This is not some red parry out of block stun thing.
-Once you do this you are invincible to everything in the game even throws. (as if the game comparatively speaking has real throw mix ups in the first place which we know currently for the most part it does not)
-You can continue to do this as fast or as slow as you want. You can attack out of it, do whatever you want.

Theres some misconception that well if you try to attack to early you might get hit, or I might bait what you are going to do, or you are still “stuck” deflecting even if you are invincible.

This is forgetting the again fact that right now the game is generous with moves that are fireball invincible. Gokus elbow goes through fireball, piccolos elbow goes through fireballs, hell trunks dash, even before he does the power geyser portion goes through fireballs. So on and so on…Hell even some of trunks normal sword moves go through fireball(how realistic this specific example is is another story but just saying. As for the others they appear to start instantly). So the idea that we ‘need’ to have a true DP to try to get out of these ‘lock downs’ in this case is not always true. As again the game is generous in terms of getting out of stuff.

What about have people forgotten what I posted back what right when the game first had videos of it? Duck hards, if the opponent is in vicinity of you, they dont even have to have done a attack that can hit you, just something in a general area(how large who knows for sure)in the air, you become invincible to attacks. Even fireballs. We have videos showing a character calling vegetas assist, a guy jumping in with a attack and the guy duck hards, hits the guy and goes through all the fireball. He cant be hit. We have seen proof that this is instant frame one. So if there is some idea that a opponent does some long hitting fireball move and you start to deflect that you are actually stuck deflecting everything when teh opponent starts air dashing at you and attacking blah blah, because you need a true DP to get out of this. Well, in current versions of the game that we have seen, this isnt true.

Hell what about back dashes even. Are we forgetting that we have seen back dashes go through attacks in this game as well, even as fast as they are in this. Now can you back dash cancel a deflect I dunno, and who knows if this or anything else above posted will stay the same in the final version of the game.

But point is from the current versions of the game posted that weve seen although its inevitable that we will compare one game to another. At the end of the day the game just mechanically speaking does not work like the other…

I mean if we were to try to compare a lock down scenario from marvel to this game it would be like say… Lets say deflecting is marvels push back. So someone is calling a assist and we are fucking hell blocking all sorts of assist fireballs while being rushed down high low trying to push block them away. Except difference in this game would be… when we “push block” or deflect… we cant be thrown… we cant be hit by any high or low… we arent in true block stun can get out of it any time we want… If the opponent tries a jump attack even if its not in range to hit us and we duck hard, we hit them, and we become invincible to all the assist fireballs to combo them. So its not like a trade to get out situation…

And so on and so on…

So ya defensively speaking characters in general are not lacking that I see right now. The idea that a dp assist could be really good I agree with could be. But a DP should be invincible if its not, then he shouldnt have a dp as a assist thats retarded. But lets not forget we have assists that at least in terms of getting through fireballs covering us, we have moves that already do that as well, not just a true dp. So ya my argument here is what is actually locking us down when we play right now? Cuz most the moves that lock down, the game gave you a out for. If things stay the same way, these long hitting long down moves are better for true combos. And for mix ups sorta lock down, beam assists are better.

On another subject I still want some to establish the ginyu thing I said. That should be something immediate that should be tested in terms of meta of the game. Because again rather than being complicated hes actually pretty simple and breaks the rules of the basic ideas of the game. I mean think about it a general idea of the game is you duck h as anti air, characters do air combo that ends in a hard knock down. Then if we have super we OTG super… But this rule doesnt even apply to ginyu. Ginyu does the hard, and then he does either ki button or qcf+s. Assuming how fast it is they could come out and juggle the guy before they hit the ground, you jump up air combo them again, you end with hard again they start to fly again but you canceled to special again, they get popped back up again.

I mean look at his moves, they almost all are doing the same thing even if they look differently. He potentially has his own loops. He doesnt need meter in situations where other characters dont. And if they are slow to combo, you can do the qcf+s, dude wakes up into your sorta “meaty” versions of the attacks that hit longer. Purple comet takes to long to come out? You do hard, knocks them down, qcf+s, you fall guy is sliding you do your actual super now. Purple comet is now on the screen super hits them up to purple comet you now recover you now combo them.

He actually seems like I said potentially pretty brain dead “scrubby” to me. Only potential conundrum being the qcf+s guldo one, but the other 3 serving a similar function in terms of being a meaty/mix up kinda vibe, some better some a little slower than others. But in the situation described it should be no problem.

Maybe more complicated in the grand scheme of characters in the game I guess. But this game currently speaking is so limited in terms of move set nothing is really rocket science. So ya as long as he doesnt follow some of his own random rules, he still can chain the same way, doesnt have absolute ass priority on his attacks/horrendous damage whatever. He seems potentially pretty good to me. Cuz if he hits the dude, well he could potentially change the general dynamic of how things work.

Does anyone know if this game has a replay channel like SFV?
