I am on the same boat.
Everyone looks like they could be very viable and fun to play.
I am already theorizing team formations and gameplan/strategies for different team compositions based on what we know so far.
Since Iāve yet to get any time with the game (and I wonāt be able to play the open beta, either) I really want to know why I keep seeing people do the same air combo (p,k,p,k, etc., you know what Iām talking about). Even though training mode hasnāt really been handed out over the months, shouldnāt there be some variance? Or is there something that Iām missing about the battle system?
@Volt What did you mean by ridiculous price tag? The price of the season pass + the game or is it just inflated in your country?
Both. Iāve seen a ton of people complaining about it around the internet, so I guess it isnāt exactly cheap elsewhere, but here itās going to be 300 bucks with the Season Pass on Steam.
Sure, in actual US Dollars, itās around the same price youāre getting, but looking at that kind of triple digit is kinda daunting.
Whyā¦ can you not cheese combos out to get the dragon balls? So let me get this straight, we have video proof if you watch one of the spanish streams of what I talked about earlierā¦ Dynamics in auto combos, give you dragon balls automatically. It does not go by the combo meter. I said this back in whatā¦ august? september or something? This was proven right again over and over and in what is now the final version of the game. There is currently no reason to believe that if you can store a smash, you would not be able to store dynamics. I have listed multiple ways to do this. And multiple ways even if you cant store, ways to work around this. I feel like even if you cant store dynamics and its bare bones as fuck. Lets think of this in the most simple manner possible. People were going horny about simple stuff before in videos like cells bear hug to assist combo again. So heres something simpleā¦ pick whatever character. Auto combo to dynamic(one ball), call assist, auto combo dynamic(2 balls)call assit, auto combo dynamic(3 balls), now after wall bounce finish regular combo(4 balls).
4 ballsā¦ no storing any property is not out of the realm of possibility with no trickery what so ever. And this is just one person, one combo. With a gameplay element that is shared. If the opponent does this too wellā¦
So again the idea that you can not mash combos to get shenron makes no sense, when in that tweet specifically even you have to do a mash combo to summon him. Only thing that tweet changes is if indeed you need 7 bars. Now that could make it more unrealistic.
But that still doesnt change the fact that the idea that auto combos are not good is silly. Since even IF you could turn off shenron etc. Auto combos are the only way to be able to do dynamicsā¦ Dynamics are the only thing that let you wall bounce in the corner for a bigger combo. Auto combos(Unless they changed it since theres no proof of this in a video yet)are the only combos that MUST smash and cause a cinematic that allows you to homing dash.
Sure there are other combo possibilities that ive listed that we have seen work. But the above cant be ignored.
On other thingsā¦
-So is it confirmed now that kid buu doesnt have flying squirrel? I hope thats not true. Big bummer if soā¦
-So what is discouraging hit from doing what ever he wants? At first glance im not sureā¦ Do the counters not counter lows? They obviously counter mids, fireballs, beams everything else. Do they just not counter lows then? Or can we assume say if you shoot a random fireball full screen and your in the air he only has that one punch animation on the ground so he counters nothing and you can bait him that way. Because as it is, his counter, his stance etcā¦ in a game with no real throw mix ups seems pretty powerful. Also his dash stuff unless there is some give away that if you see this trigger if you will it will always cross up seems fast enough that you cant reliably react to it. Maybe he takes a lot of damage or something? Again im not seeing what is discouraging him from what whatever he wants right now vs what you can do to him to discourage him.
@dialupsucky I get your point, but thereās no confirmation about whether or not you can toggle Shenron off in Vs./Tournament Mode or whatever. Maybe itāll become a non-factor and weāre just too worried about it.
The 7 bars is precisely the main lock though. Getting 70 hits with no meter is hopefully not practical, and even if you get the 7 balls, with or without your opponentās help, you still have to land a Light AC without the opponent landing it first and stealing your wish.
Itās going to be too risky of a scramble and people will try to avoid it when too many balls are already in play.
Not to mention that weāve seen quite a few matches without people gathering even 4 of them, itās not going to happen every match unless some players actively look for it, which makes them resort to a high-risk/high reward strat.
You canātā¦and honestly, I donāt think youāll NEED all 7 bars to make Adult Gohan great, I think itās just making him god level if you want to.
But I think itās maximum risk for insane rewardā¦which makes sense since Adult Gohan is potentially one of the strongest characters in the series and THE strongest out of Goku and Vegeta even now in Super if he dedicates himself to training.
Exactly and I actually like that even further since it makes trying to get the Dragonballs even MORE difficult as itās a massive comeback mechanic in terms of bringing your teammates back at 20% or another Sparking Gauge.
Of course, the former isnāt THAT great but it could make a difference so it makes sense for the restrictions be pretty damn strong.
Ya but remember, we never NEED 70 hits. if you watch some of the streams from other languages you can see, dynamics can give you a 70 one too if they need too. It just gives you one if the one it would have at first is already filled up.
Also as for matchs of people not even gathering 4 of them. Well lets look at it like this have we seen ANY high level of this game yet? whats more in that stream last night, of the guys that get invited to bandai namco studies, he even said I just found out that duck hps turn blue for anti airs, and you are completely invincible not just upper body.
ā¦
Dudeā¦ this has been known since august.
So the idea that there are high level optimal play out with high knowledge is just not true. Dont get me wrong im jelly I dont get invited to go play the game. But if you think the people that get to play for free and we watch the matchs have all been awesome, that just isnt true. Theres a ton of false info out there. Its awesome we get to see them play and we can then imagine ourselves playing and think about stuff. But a lot of times they are also posting false info about things that happened. Or stuff as new, that is old to anyone that actually bothered to look what is going.
