Dr. Doom Combo Thread

whats the max dmg you guys are getting with doom alone with no assists, no xfactor ? i got 649k

744.9 with 2x buk loop 2x corner loop and photon array finish, didn’t mash photon array. Need to remember to start doing that.

Does Doom have any alternate midscreen BNBs besides the Buk loop and Clock loop (for lack of a better name, the one being discussed above)? Just want to know my options. I coulda sworn I saw something that involved a normal jump M type loop <shrug> I get the first Buk loop easy, but always tend to screw up the 2nd one. I’ll grind it out in training if I need to, but if something comparable exists, might as well see what’s comfiest. What’s weird is I can do the vanilla corner loop flawlessly every time, but the CLock loop which is nearly the same thing I struggle with a lot. The fact the air dash is downfwd instead of just down trips me up I think. I get TAC too often.

I just picked up Doom today as another option for anchor on my team and I keep getting TACs as well. What’s weird is that I know I’m not pressing S+direction, it seems that if you try to cancel the dash before the S comes out, it comes out as a TAC. Kind of annoying but I’ve been slowing the whole thing down and it’s been a little more consistent. I can do 3 reps easy in the corner but I struggle to get the 3rd started midscreen.

check my channel, I have a tutorial for the normal jump loop/staircase combo there. it was recorded for Vanilla but it still works for Ultimate, just tested. I find that one particularly useful for air-to-air situations. I don’t bother with the Clock loop too much because I either switch between Buktooth and the staircase combo depending on the situation and I usually end up near or at the corner so I can go for the footdive loop (one less rep though QQ)

Yeah it’s very strange. In the corner I can’t mess it up. midscreen I can’t NOT mess it up. How many Ms are you hitting with? 2 presses, 4 hits? In vanilla in the corner I did one press one hit, but Ive found 2 presses 4 hits is easy too. Not sure which way is optimized for damage or number of reps or whatever.

for each rep after the footdive adf part, it’s 1 hit M, 1 hit M, land. so it’s M (2 hits), M (2 hits), footdive, adf, M (1 hit), M (1 hit). it depends actually, because you get one more rep if you do the two falling 1-hit Ms and Doom falls to the ground faster if the other one is 2-hits. whatever works for you man.

The first one pretty much always 2 hits i think, the second hit is sort of dependent on spacing, don’t want to fly all the way over the opponent but i want to connect 2 footdives obviously so i have to be above them. Overall I’m not finding it too difficult to execute after practicing rocket raccoon since release, I am struggling to get the loops out in an actual match though.

Are you refering to the one on your youtube channel? I just watched that and it’s def interesting. Will have to try it. Then see if between it, the Buk, and the Clock, which on I have the better shot of getting down 100%. I finally got to give Doom Strange Sent a test run vs humans last night and it works better than expected, but dropping Doom combos isn’t helpful at all.

yeah I forgot to put that I was referring to the one on my channel. yeah, it’s pretty good but I only really use it for the air-to-air stuff. Buk is still more damaging.

UMvC3 here! I just started playing this game outside of a party environment. So after picking up Doom today, im having trouble with his loop. I just cant seem to get the second part of the loop to work.

You need to hit the last j.M closer to the ground, I have trouble finishing the second loop of that one as well.

u doing J.M too late and addf> M too early. also don’t mash M so much or u will fuck it up there are tutorials on youtube u can look up for this to help u too

the buktooth loop part -

  1. j.M, c.M, c.H, S, sj.M, f+H xx ad/df, sj.M (super low to the ground), c.H, S, sj.M, f+H xx ad/df, sj.M (again as low to the ground as you can), c.H, S

most places on the screen, you’ll be in the corner or super close by now so you can finish it with 2 reps of the corner loop:

2a) - sj.M, f+H, S xx ad/d, s.H, S, sj.M, f+H, S xx ad/d, (and just before you land) H plasma beam xxx Photon Array

If you are not in the corner for 2a, I have a really simple option I use since my execution isn’t the greatest and I just want to finish the combo with some basic damage:

2b) - sj.M, sj.M, f+H xx ad/f, sj.M xxx Air Photon Array

hm…thanks for the replies, i tried it, can’t really do it consistantly and seems like more trouble then its worth, also im using Doom as anchor, he has horrible matchups though when he’s by himself, hawkeye it’s 10-1 D:

ok… one problem… … everytime when i’m doing the corner loop after the j.s into ad/d I get a TAC. I mean, i even turned on input display and it shows me hitting ad/d after the S but for some retarded reason, unless I delay the shit until hell freezes over that’s what i get!>:( Are you guys experiencing the same thing?
