Dr. Doom Combo Thread

I asked Clock about it at the UCI sessions and he said it worked in vanilla too, but for some reason nobody used it. It’s a really good combo, I think he can carry to the corner and get 2 reps of corner loop (which is essentially what hes doing midscreen but with an extra sj.:m:) into TK :qcf:+:h: strider :a1: TK :qcf:+:h: xx :qcb:+:atk::atk:

I don’t think it carried to the corner in vanilla and did less damage than bukloop x2 into corner loop x2. Still is less damage. Its only advantage is it is easy.

Hey guys, quick question:

What is Dooms best/usefull combo after tagging him in with an air exchange?

I’ve been just using the corner loop (however many reps as you can get, given what you did prior to the exchange). I don’t really ever tag him in midscreen, though I figure your best bet there is probably M&Ms. If anyone has any better setups, I’d be interested to hear about them as well, always nice to have more options.

In Vanilla after a TAC, he can do (haven’t tested if they changed TAC hitstun in Ultimate, but I think it’s the same):

There’s a vid of a slightly more complicated version with another plasma beam at the beginning, but I forget who did it.

So yeah, straight m & m is fairly minor compared to what he can really do :D.

I’ve been trying to get that. Getting one plasma is relatively easy, but getting both seems kind of tricky, the height is always slightly off when I do it :frowning:

Does this still work in Ultimate? They keep popping out after the (land) j.M, j.M, footdive adf

This is about to suck because it just took me 45 minutes to get to that part which is like the hardest part since the rest of the combo loops.

Also, can someone give me the notation for his fly airdash M loop? I just want some fancy shit. Special occasion bitches Doom’s in my official team.

Yeah, MODOK is pretty huge so that probably makes a difference. Point is, Doom has way better options than M&M.

which uses the S footdive. However anybody know how Clockwork manages to get to the ground on time and then triangle dash to OTG? I tried dashing downward but it doesn’t seem to work dashing downward and that doesn’t work. I can do it in the corner no problem however mid screen there appears to be something im missing.

Press an attack button to fall down faster. Notice how Clockwork was whiffing j. Ms while he was falling.

hm, i put M on turbo and after S nothing happens, i can sorta get it to sometimes work if i mash down air dash after S, mind telling me exactly what you need to do to get down quickly?

Are you air dash cancelling the j.S on hit? You won’t get a normal out if you don’t.

The full input is j.S > down-forward air dash > (whiff) j.M > (land) > (tridash) > OTG

I can confirm that this combo is still in, just as it was in Ultimate. you’ll get one less rep of footdive loop though, but you’ll still do a ton of damage. maybe you aren’t jumping up fast enough?

I dunno, maybe Zero was too small? It cant be that I was jumping too slow because the footdive or the second j.M would would miss while I was already up there.

And why cant I get the full screen foot dive combo? I can fall to the ground fast pressing M after the foot dive add but in the videos it looks like clockwork only has to do one dash into st.H for the relaunch and I’m like two dashes away. How is he getting them to fall so close without the massive flying screen?

Full combo to corner, call drones jump pbeam H (one hit) xx APA, drones hit, SDive. CAll strider, jump pbeam h, strider hits, j.pbeam H, APA.

Are we sure there is hitstun decay in this game?
In fairness it is pretty tough to hit consistently.

game can’t control dat new footdive technology. it’s ridiculous how Doom’s damage only got better. I’m running MvC2 Clockw0rk right now with Doom on point and his damage is so good.

Footdive is really good guys. People were getting hit by the crossup all day at casuals and tournament today.

yyou have to air dash cancel the S footdive down towards, like the corner loop from vanilla, and after the dash cancel you do a whiff jumping M to let you fall faster. then you trijump over and get the OTG standingH. Its basically the same thing as the corner loops in vanila, just altered timing to work midscreen.

In Vanilla, the midscreen double footdive worked on everyone but tron. Was difficult on Wesker. It is pretty easy otherwise, just time or watch for doom to move into position. It was a lot easier if you tossed in at least a few hits before the loop, or do one bukloop first. That said it feels a lot easier in Ultimate than vanilla. Just training mode it until you get the feel.

Wolverine is the easiest, Wesker the hardest. Tron is just about impossible to hit 2-3 reps.
