Downtown Toronto-Dedicated Fighter Arcade

Yeah Im not going to shit on a guy who hasnt opened up his arcade yet. So hopefully you saw the original post

Wow. You might be the most impatient/unrealistic motherfucker ever.

1-would you attend? Most likely in between my 4hour breaks on Thursday and Friday classes, could probably bring along a few of my casual friends that have the same schedual as me once in awhile when they feel like playing a bit

2-how often do you think you would? Thursdays and Fridays

3-Interested in tourneys? if so, what day would you prefer? Would love to, I’m new to the whole community and would love to be able to get into the tournament scene

4-Your one nominated game you want to see there (even if it wasn’t released for console I might be able to make it happen depending on costs) I loved the Alpha series, but have been itching to play some Capcom vs SNK 2 lately.

5-What type of Joysticks & buttons do you want on the cabinet (Sanwa, Happ etc.) Sanwa

Think this is a great idea, I use to drop into Funland on my breaks since I go to Ryerson. I miss having a place to play some games casually, since Funland has closed me and a few buddies have been playing on our laptops to kill time between classes so this would be a great change.

1-Yes, for sure.

2-Twice a week because of my stupid uni schedule that has nasty gaps inbetween classes.

3-Yeah, definitely interested in tournies.

4-3S or some cvs2

5-Sanwa

1- Yes.

2- Two to three times a week.

3- Yes tourneys on Friday or Saturday.

4- SF4.

5- Sanwa.

Now you have no choice but to bring me since I go to ryerson too loulzelez

what will be the hours of this operation?
You need fooseball in there

If I get my own unit, hours will be whatever the hell I want them to be, lol. That was another reason why I didn’t want to sublet at Bathurst and Bloor, I wanted to control the hours. I’m sure most of you guys are nocturnal.

I’m just wondering how can you get this sanctioned by the city? I hear arcade licenses and the like tend to be very hard to get because the city seems to think it attracts the wrong sort of crowd.

Best of luck with this though. You have the right idea and mindset. I hope it happens… I’d probably be down to come in on Mondays or Tuesdays after my classes.

If the city can sanction a large men’s shelter that allows addicts and dealers to bring crack, meth etc. into the facility (Seaton House, I believe it’s called), they can probably sanction a place for a bunch of arcade rats.

Its NOT an arcade, geez, get with the program…

looks at title of thread

Cool… so I don’t really care what you call it. Centre for the Advancement of the Virtual Martial Arts sounds good to me. :smokin:

i like it

I can’t wait for the CAVMA to open.

In class right now and talked to a few people about this. They all seem to be in and really can’t wait til it is open. Best of luck with it all Carthik, please keep the updates up back to playing some sf4 on my laptop, if only my arcade stick was more portable haha.

I actually can’t wait for this to open soon. Starting university at Ryerson, I would need to do something at Fridays after class, so why not drop by an arcade every once in a while.

I wouldn’t mind hopping the bus at utsc and coming down there once and a while.

someone at ryerson start a SF4 club

More like a fighting game club

more like a sausage fest club
