DotA 2

EG is the clear favorite, honestly. It won’t be a pushover by any means but of the five teams remaining, who is honestly going to beat them?

CDEC is the biggest question mark, time to see today if their group stage match with EG meant anything.

EG has a shot at winning with Secret out, but we’ll see what happens. This TI has been crazy with the upsets, so maybe EG will crack under the pressure as well like many teams have seemed to this tournament.

Secret being out really bummed me out. I like all the players on their team and are sad to see that they buckled under the pressure. VP was definitely not a team they should have lost against… Oh well. I also got pretty sad when EHOME got knocked out because rOtK… Only team I’m rooting for at this point is CDEC since they’re essentially the underdogs tearing through the tournament right now.

ayye zues arcana incoming

RIP Leshrac 100% ban rate

I like everyone on EGs team except for PPD. I cant imagine the amount of ego coming from him and a bit from Sumail if they win TI

CDEC now please.
I really like their style, shiki Lina and agressif are so good. <3
… but I think EG will make it.

Now also has a 0% win rate. :V

Wow, CDEC. Really smart move to put xZ on Bounty, they knew ppd would stop roaming BH with Treant so they just gave him a lane instead.

Yeah that shit was crazy. Completely outsmarted PPD into making draft Treant and then just laned the BH for a quick level six. Treant didn’t do anything in lane except kill BH and heal up towers.

How can you NOT root for CDEC at this point? Would love to see the underdogs win TI since my favorite teams are out.

You know you’re doing something right when ppd is calling you a genius. And it’s not even just drafting that’s getting them this far, it’s the constant outplay.

I never understand why people pick Razor, but EG was undefeated with it before the CDEC set and VG just won with it, so … huh.

And now VG are losing with Razor. Hero having some mixed results this TI despite making a small resurgence.

LF about to start… Lets hope we get some good games to close this out.

That teamfight in game 2 that let EG take mid tower/melee rax was so well-coordinated. Just started with catching MMY out and then everything that followed was so crazy. Aegis? Fuck that. Gyro cheese? Fuck that.

Leshrac 33% win rate.

Only 3 games, sure, but is it possible to overrate one of the best, if not the best, hero in the game?

What the hell kind of double elimination tournament doesnt give the winners bracket any advantage in the finals? Especially when its the team they sent to losers?

I didnt get that as well, usually the get 1 game up in the best of 5. But this time i think they gave them either first pick or which side to start, which really isnt that much of an advantage.

GG EG, they really played as a team.

Usually there’s something like being able to choose between pick order or the side of the map, which is actually pretty important. No clue if anything was implemented at this tournament.

Another less popular method is to give the winner’s bracket team a one-game advantage.

The reasoning for doing this instead of two separate sets is probably time.

Random as fuck deadmau5 concert at the end… the fuck. GG EG. I wanted them to win.

One reason is for time. Does anyone really want a potential 10 hour grind finals? Think of it this way: your advantage from playing from winner’s is: day of rest, less games to play resulting in less showing of strats and mental fatigue, more time to study your opponents. Either way, you can’t really compare how FG tournament brackets are run vs how a MOBA tournament brackets are run. Different games.

Was really hoping CDEC would win, but both teams fought hard with EG being the better team. CDEC’s story is just so amazing though. From underdog to top dog. No one was ready until grand finals.

IMO, without the usual one game advantage, it was really in EGs favour even if CDEC got to pick sides or first pick. EG got a taste of what CDEC could do yesterday. EG, more so PPD, is known for re-strategizing over night after they lost to a team they just played. Plus EG got to play more games and warmed up vs VG. Having first pick was such a minor advantage since EG planned this and gave them first pick for first 3 games, and took the Dire away from CDEC.

Had EG known going in that they would be down one game, it would change how they would play because each mistake is suddenly now amplified that much more as CDEC would only need to win 2 more games

I feel CDEC got shafted for being in the winners bracket into the GF.
