Terrorblade got nerfed in the last patch, as his illusions now take more damage, which hurts his split push (his primary strength). He’s still a pretty strong hero though.
People that intentionally feed like in your game generally happens in the lower brackets. Frustrating, I know, but you gotta just deal with it and move on to the next game. At least it was unranked, right?
Somehow I was able to win a game where I randomed Weaver right away and the other team picked Medusa, Doom, Rubick, Lina, and Windranger. Game went to 71 minutes and we were down two rax to zero before we were able to wipe them and then death push down mid.
Time for a bump that hopefully spurs some more discussion.
DotA 2 competitive “tier” list for October 2014:
Despite nerfs, DP, Void, Skywrath, Brew, and Razor are still top tier picks. It’s interesting to note Batrider’s arise to the top, but with 6.82x’s more 4+1 friendly meta, it makes sense that one of the best gankers is now getting picked/banned more. Ogre’s buffs finally caught up with him and now he’s a top tier support pick, and Bloodlust is great for the hard carries coming back into the meta. Wisp coming up makes sense for similar reasons, on top of it having a global presence on the map. Doom dropping hard is not a surprise, but he seems to be a solid situational pick. Medusa and Spectre on the rise is due to more defensive styles being stronger now and heavy push strats being weaker (buyback + Haunt on a farmed Spectre late game is devastating). Lycan nerfs caught up with him, but that doesn’t stop Arteezy winning a LAN with him. Necro is getting more and more popular due to the sustain he provides and the extra 30 seconds of death when a Scythe kill happens. An extra 30 seconds of death on your carry is huge early, and not being able to buyback from the Agh’s upgrade is kinda OP late. RIP Shadow Shaman.
Was just commenting on him falling three spots on the list. He didn’t receive any major changes in 6.82, but the system mechanics have hurt him greatly. While pushing strats still work (after 6.82 was tweaked, of course), they’re no where near as strong as they were in 6.81, so his fall from grace makes sense.
That’s a pretty awful draft. D: Looks like an unranked pub draft. You pretty much CANNOT have Medusa and AM on the same team, as both require too much space required in the early and mid game… and CM, Slark, and OD cannot create that space. lol If that was a ranked game, mind if I ask what your MMR is?
The other day I played a random draft game in which I accidentally randomed Terrorblade in the pool, but luckily someone else on the team wanted it from the start. I had him pick me Timbersaw. Nyx and I wrecked face and created a lot of space for him, but his farm was suboptimal (he also died a few times by joining fights he shouldn’t have). His first item was… SnY. D: And this was a pretty late SnY, mind you. And he almost never split pushed until the final 10 minutes of the game. Least impactful TB I’ve seen despite all the space made for him haha. At least we won, but it was because the Nyx and I carried super hard.
Don’t worry, Icefrog will probably nerf him again in 6.83 in a couple months. For now, the best way to deal with him are long stuns or silences (like Skywrath’s silence).
Potentially worst hero in the game IMO. Pick him if the other team has Phoenix, but otherwise he’s outclassed.
This has less to do with the kit itself and more that people STILL consider him a true carry instead of an unusual midlane hero meant to boost the main carry.
I play him mid whenever there’s a PA on the other team because he’s the only hero I know of that can manfight her. I think he rocks that lane pretty well, or at least stalemates it. I thought he was okay, but I was confused as to why I never saw him.
Never would have expected “Worst hero in the game” to go to him.
Troll is… okay I guess? I don’t think he really excels at anything so he doesn’t really fit into many lineups. With the glyphs refreshing after T1s go down and towers offering less gold, his ultimate has less value as well.
I think he’s still good. He falls into a no-man’s land for the pros, though, because he’s a 4-spot who is best used for setting up kills. Thing is he is level dependent and when you consider that he needs that 6 before he’s good to roll, it’s tough to say he’s better than Mirana, Tide, Disruptor or AA.
