DotA 2

chinese dota hasn’t actually been boring in years

I guess you and I haven’t been watching the same Chinese DotA then. Because all I see is some action here and there during laning phase. Then like 20-30 minutes of turtling while carries get farm. Then five minutes of pushing and then the game is over.

That’s generally how Chinese DotA games go.

aight you’re going on my list of people that don’t understand dota cuz that happens so infrequently it’s not even worth mentioning.

That happened every fucking game of G-league when LGD.int wasn’t playing. I love watching dota but I was falling asleep during those games because they were so dull.

Most EU/US teams are bad. Empire is strong as fuck, and Na’Vi is the only team that can potentially beat them-- when they aren’t being lazy. Rest of the teams are B-tier, but they might improve. Biggest issue is the sloppiness, but that can only be cleaned up with time-- and some teams (dignitas, nth) might be able to step up by the time the intl rolls around.

alright done discussing dota on a non-dota forum

what we talk about dota here?

Please direct me to these magical Chinese DotA games where this doesn’t happen at all. I would love to see aggressive, non-extremely safe play that isn’t done by IG (not like it matters since IG just poops on everyone anyways) or LGT.int (which also isn’t a Chinese team). The past month of Chinese games I’ve watched have all been very similar which very few exceptions. Ironically the most entertaining, non-boring Chinese game I’ve seen recently was a 50 minute game that had a Doombringer pick.

Does it really matter whether it’s boring or not? They’re playing to win. If one team has better late game, it’s their game plan to turtle and win late game. It’s the other team’s job to push and finish early.

It’s like street fighters, are you gonna win by turtling against a Sagat?

and just to clarify my last, I don’t think DBR is something you flaunt and you’re auto pro because you’re a Diamond League. But nevertheless, you can’t ignore how accurate it is coming from a data miner and not Valve. I for one would still like to see some kind of public ELO ratings built into the game.

and obviously, flaunting it and using that as an excuse to flame/troll would just make you look like an ass.

[quote="Hawk, post: 7945306, member: 6765"Literally the exact same thing. Also, stop commands will cancel attack and spell animations in this game (at certain points), so i’d learn how to do that. Good for faking out things like pudge hook or earthshaker wall, stuff like that

Hold position (H key) is good to know too
Really? Then it seems as though my S key is broken, either that or it’a unbound, thanks though, I’ll see what I can do o_O

I do play a game once in a while with varying sucsess, I’m probably playing against fucking horrible players, in fact, i’m sure I am, it’s too funny. But the last game I had a got a triple on Gyro and that was cool

I’ve been watching the dotacinema newbie guides lately, thanks!

Yeah, people maining champions is hella annoying. In DOTA 90 percent of my games have been random select, happily. And yeah, League is just stale looking and doesn’t have a feeling of power when you blow someone up, it’s just kinda mello in comparison to DOTA2’s black holes and ass-fuckery. That’s why I’m choosing to learn it.

Nothing feels better than a good ol’ finger of death.

Its one thing to turtle for late game. Its another to have the other side double raxxed, all of your tiers 2 still up, 15k+ more gold, pushed into base… then back to farm for another 10 minutes.

I don’t have any problems with them playing to win. I just find it boring. Shit is just TOO safe and it gets old to see 15-20 minutes of turtling and then 5-10 minutes of team fights. And then the game is over.

Seems as though another wave of beta keys went out, and I’ve got 5 that I don’t have any use for. If people are still trying to get into the game, I’ll gladly toss them a key; just send me a PM with your Steam name.

EDIT: Duh, haven’t gifted something in awhile, so I’m dumb on how it works. Steam name is Tsuuda; friend me on Steam along with leaving your name, so I can gift it. Can’t gift to non-friends, my mistake.

I get where you’re coming from, but are the Chinese teams really like that? Out of all the replays that I’ve watched (and I don’t watch a lot of replays), I see them playing a very similar meta to EU/US teams. They might have 1 hard carry afk free farm for the majority of the game, but the rest of the team pressures the towers, counter ganks and all that.

Edit: I also have 3 spare keys if anyone wants.

I have 50 spare keys or something so yeah nobody should have an issue getting one /\

Just watch a batrider get through the first ban pool in a chinese game

fnatic vs nth game 3 earlier today made me want to piss in my own mouth

gonna watch soon

Is there a way to get keys for chests without paying for them?

Nope!
