MoM is an okay lategame Item to get lifesteal and permabash after you got a sufficient amount of survivability and damage. Rushing it, like pretty much every pub void does, is flatout terrible. It increases your farmspeed by a miniscule amount and kills you in teamfights.
MoMs use is twofold: 1) Lifesteal 2) Permabash. You’re going to initiate with Chronosphere. Does Lifesteal help here? Nyope, you’re on full HP. Does Permabash help here? Nyope, they’re stunned already. So what does it do? Increase your attackspeed to ridiculous amounts (leading to a bad gold/damage ratio until you stack up damage later on) and lets you take +30% damage (so if your opponents aren’t retarded you get nuked down in seconds).
If you’re planning to play an aggressive Void that dives towers and isn’t really carrying but more of an initiator/lockdown hero, MoM is fine after you get something like a Vanguard to sustain it. You aren’t going to deal damage, but are a bitch to deal with in teamfights and Vanguard+Backtrack make people not want to attack you.
If you’re planning to carry, rush Battlefury and hardfarm shit like MKB, Manta, whatever. After you got Battlefury+1-2 major items you can look at whether MoM is bearable or you should go for Satanic.
I’m sad that they had to change the name from Buriza to Daedalus. I liked how there were so many references to other games/media. I suppose licensing issues trump that though.
MoM and treads are probably the first things to get for void, then move to other items like Buriza, butterfly, Battlefury is nice too… but you’ll eventually need to replace MoM with a satanic because you’ll likely get shitted on opponents with Blademail.
First game back into Dota, did awesome as Lich. Most games following that were pretty crappy. After playing bot games with a friend and getting much more comfortable with the overall feel, I can easily win most games unless the other team is really solid. Going to enjoy playing and trying to get back to how solid I was back in my high school days.
Also, so glad you can win games 4v5. In League, it’s virtually impossible to do so. We had a Tinker pause and go afk for 5-10 mins (whatever the threshold is for leaving). About 1 minute after it tagged him as a leaver and distributed his gold to the team, he comes back and accuses us of unpausing. Someone on the other team had done so after a minute, understandably so. There was no reason we should’ve had to wait that long for him. After some generic name calling, he states the game has gone from a free win to a loss because we all suck, and leaves. I proceed to continue playing, I’m already 10-0 or so at this point. I get farmed, get more kills and we end up winning without much trouble, despite being a man down. Feelsgood that the game didn’t become an instant loss. Even if it had, the game is instantly forgiven once a player leaves. I’m not expected to just take my loss and try to make myself feel better by reporting the leaver…I’ll do that anyway.
Also, I’ve got to say, I underestimated Warlock, even back in the day. His ability to troll with linking units to heroes and DOT healing/AOE movement slow is pretty damn useful. Getting a melee hero linked to his wave when he tries to last hit then slapping the creeps for unavoidable damage is prty troll.
I remember running Prophet, Mag, Veno Clinkz and a 5th (can’t remember) as our clan tournament team in Dota as Scourge to destroy people. Pool to Clinkz for early Demon Edge to Buriza while beating everyone with Reverse Polarity, Poison Nova and ghost apocalypse while Clinkz pew pew’d. I got delegated to Mag role, which was fun cause you just got the harrass with shockwaves, intiate the fights with Polarity, then buff Clinkz and watch him rip people apart.
aha man too many. In dota 2 we have roughly 350-400. and roughly half of that or close to that amount in Dota 1 and LoL. We’re not great, but we’re better than your average pub teams. Anyone’s welcome to play with us :).
Played a lot of games with Kunka’s who go for the mass crit. I love the strat of using “X Marks the Spot” on yourself, going with with lothars, wacking them for a 800+ crit, then getting yourself out. Annoying as hell, but it’s so funny to see a kunka wipe out 3-4 people on your team with that.
I hate to be one of “those” people who are constantly asking for invites, but honestly, if anyone has an extra invite can you please PM me?
Outside of that, I’m watching as many streams as I can and I’m trying to find out as much info about the game as possible. So far I think I’m going to stick with Void and Anti-Mage.
I’ve seen in some dota 2 streams that when the tower is targeting somebody, they’ll do something and the tower targets somebody else. I’m confused cause I always thought you had step out of range real quick for the tower to change aggro? Or am I just seeing things.
If you A-click one of your creeps while taking tower shots, the tower aggro will drop on you and will switch to your creeps. In general, the tower tends to attack the closest target 1st. Also, the tower generally doesn’t switch targets (unless you use the above method), so when one of your creeps is about to die, press S to stop attacking the tower until it switches to another creep and then continue attacking.
