In my opinion; first vid (Shiro420 vs Alex):
- If your opponent is fool enough to call phoenix’s assist make him pay with x-factor hyper and kill her
- you should try snapping in phoenix
- 3:30 Yes, Akuma can easily punish a blocked chaotic flame
- that stalking flare at 4:01 is completely useless
- Use more teleport instead of :h: teleport, especially against those char on which this combo works: teleport, j.:s:, cr.:h:, :s:, Air combo.
- keep your x-factor for Phoenix, unless you really need to use if before.
- overall too many hard tags
Second video (Shiro420 vs Unknown):
- 0:26 I like that air throw to punish Dante’s teleport but after the air throw you can link cr. without the help of an assist. In that situation you can do:
** >** Air thow, land, cr., :s:, jump, , , :h:, :s:, land, call skrull assist, flame carpet, :s:, jump, , , :h:, :s:, land, Purification xx Chaotic flame.
It builds more meter and does more damage than what you did.
- 0:35 That double stalking flare is the most meaningless waste of meter I’ve ever seen, you could have used Chaotic Flame DHC Legion Arrow for the same amount of meter.
- you should push block more during blocked hypers, you didn’t advance guard at all during dante’s one.
- use more liberations against opponent who always superjump towards you.
- 4:17 You can use chaotic flame right before the final shot of million dollar (Dante’s hyper), after the chaotic flame you could have tagged out Dorm safely.
- I guess you forgot to activate your x-factor, it happens to me too.
I hope to have helped you.
@Wentinel: I also watched your matches - good stuff! I see Wolverine is still giving you a lot of trouble.
@Shiro: I’m only going to criticize you - no need for praise, you know what you did right.
Video 1:
Your Taskmaster is suffering here because you don’t give him a ranged assist to help his zoning game.
Your opponent is calling Phoenix a lot for her TK shot. Legion Arrow her face off immediately.
1:02 - you are willing to do a random hyper against Akuma, but when you had an air throw on him earlier, you didn’t bother - why?
You Mass Change on Akuma a lot, and that’s fine, but why not call Aim Master beforehand? It makes your approach much safer.
Super-Skrull’s assist has a huge startup time. Don’t use it like Gustaff Fire.
As soon as Stalking
2:11 - this is the moment you should have saved X-Factor for.
3:44 - why no Inferno? It probably would have caught both characters.
Mass Change M more against Sentinel; I rarely see you use it at all, you’re very fond of Mass Change H, which is good, but also very unsafe.
Video 2:
0:28 - you can combo off of the air throw without an assist.
0:35 - why did you use Stalking Flare? Chaotic Flame seems to be the clearly superior choice.
1:08 - again, this Mass Change H, right into Trish’s hyper. What do you have against Mass Change M? Haha.
2:25 - Spidey Swing to hang in the air longer.
2:44 - Hard Drive is not safe. Punish its recovery.
4:19 - you can land Chaotic Flame between the penultimate and ultimate shots of Million Dollars.
Why do you superjump before shooting arrows with Taskmaster? Normal jump height is very effective.
You should be nicer to your opponent and not Worm Stomp him!
Nothing new here, but as Dormammu players, I thought those who hadn’t seen it would find it amusing.
Not to sandbad anyone, but I don’t understand how people never see DSF Teleport mixups coming…
If you do it right, your opponent loses no matter what, because holding forward moves him into the flare before your teleport completes, and holding back makes it cross-up. A good number of Dormammu players have started not doing the teleport at all, and their opponents just walk into the Flare because they think the teleport is coming.
Edit: Oh, and if anyone ever finds this in direct capture on youtube or something, let me know, because it needs to be in the main thread.
Video from my grand finals yesterday. Ignore the first match, I was dicking around with team tokido. Entirely too many dropped combos. Also as a precursor, this guy losses to turtling so I mostly just stay the fuck away, if anyone wonders why I’m not rushing down too hard. Think I dropped pretty much every combo I tried with Dante lol:

Good call with the XF to kill Sentinel in the last match. 1 Dimensional offense ftl.
Yeah I figured if I got rid of his Sentinel, it was over, since it seemed like he wasn’t too good with his assist characters. Not sure why he switched out Phoenix but I know I definitely didn’t mind haha.
Here’s me on stream, really good opponent comes in around the 30 second mark but a lot of this is Dormammu stuff so you should enjoy this, first portion is mostly rape city if you guys wanna see Dorm just shitting on people:
Thanks for sharing Samurai, but why do you Dark Hole instead of relaunching off of Jam Session with Dormammu?
Sometimes I don’t feel confident on the spacing for the relaunch, but I suppose I could have teleported and done it. Need to make that a habit.
Teleport doesn’t give you enough time to get a relaunch. You have to dash in once after calling Dante, wait like half a second, then launch. The timing can be a bit wierd to get a first because you need to launch them as soon as then get blasted away by Jam Session.
If you teleport however, you have the option to attempt this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIkWhOCOfyE
Actually you can teleport, falling j.S land 5S, I started using it last night. Works pretty reliably and looks flashy as hell.
Edit: just watched the reset video. I was mainly talking about comboing off of 5B 3C > Jam Session at the start of a combo. I didn’t know you could dash up after an air series into a knockdown and get a relaunch with dante, gonna have to mess with that.
Damn I gotta try that but my console is broke at the moment. So, it works on any size character?
Yeah, only if you start the combo with a ground string > flame carpet > jam session though. I haven’t tried it after air combo > knock down OTG into jam session. The hitstun scaling might be too high at that point.
Thats a nice setup. Watching that video makes me want to main Dorm lol
May as well share, as I’m learning Dormy myself. Kinda making him work with Zero, trying to do the same with him + Chun/X-23.
From a local tourney late last month. Cap/Doom/Dorm user got all the way to 3rd by virtue of his anchor/comeback powers.

More at www.youtube.com/paolonovero once I upload the the rest.
Some of Mugetsu’s matches from Empirial Colossuem 1, using Dormmammu/Dante/Haggar. Slight variation of my team which goes to show that Dorm + Dante is very good on it’s own. He uses Haggar for defense as well as combo extension. He hit the nail on the head too when he was speaking to Triforce about the matchups, as long as he doesn’t die at the start of the match he’s confident. Something along those lines.
I think there’s more on there.
