I win so many matches with a round ending Gado. I also like to condition people with mp.Gado and then throw out a hp or EX to smack 'em in the friggin face or on a far jump in. I use it most often on Gief… need all the help you can get against that ogre.
thats pretty smart. I just like to neglect gadou until key moments to make them forget about it entirely. Yes…hes such a pain. No mk hk dankuu and your lk dankuu mix ups have to be fuckin legit or else you eat spd all day…
he can crash into a wall, hopefully made of your opponent ><. HP Gadouken is an EXCELLENT distancing ploy- unfamiliar players will just stop and get blocklocked often, foiling whatever they were planning. Worse, experienced players will not know the exacts of the distance, and often walk into it (god, i hear a lot of swearing on their vocals). Dan’s recovery time from it lets you Koryuken anyone who doesnt jump IMMEDIATELY as the Gadouken comes out. and if someone jumps too early, you might even get a double hit if the distance is right.
since its also a short projectile, there’s not as much time to react to it- you’ll definately love watching the normally anti-fireball Zangief walk into it, or as he jumps to close distance, lands on top of it. Of course it stops other projectiles to help you build your Super meter instead of taking chip, Rose has to be dead on top of you to reflect it and hit you. just, you’re forced to get in the close and personal since it doesnt go any further than midscreen if it’s EX’d.
on a hilarious note, dan’s crouching middle kick will duck another dan’s dankyaku… >< i wonder if theres any hadouken ducking that can be done?
I’ve ducked underneath Sonic Booms, Shinku Hadoken and Aura Soul Spark with Dan’s c.MK, though it’s generally not something you can do on reaction. The projectile has to move fast enough that it goes over Dan’s head while he’s down sticking his leg out, which is why I’m pretty sure those three are the only ones it’d really work on. Technically, Ryu/Ken/Akuma can do the same thing with their c.MKs, but because their moves come out faster and recover faster, they can’t do it as easily.
dan is quite solid in this game not soild like ryu but his close standing medium punch got a major buff good for anti crouch tech and good for plus frames
I’ve recently started playing Dan regularly and he’s really improving my fundamentals. I’ve never won so matches against people with way more BP than me (10K+). It’s like their tricks won’t work on Dan. I’ve also never had so many comebacks. Being at quarter health, and getting inside with pressure and they get nervous and make a mistake and eat ultra. Or maybe their nervousness is even more amplified because they REALLY don’t want to lose to a Dan. After all, many of these players take this game very seriously (From what I’ve seen in messages)
