Don, the 3s machine at the smoke shop ate 3 of my quarters. :frowning:
Also, one of the ppl there said that the MP button on the 2p side of the mvc2 machine gets stuck in sometimes.

Which side slot is the coin thing not working on 3S? One or both?

Can’t wait for next week it’s gonna be a Marvelous weekend!. Jint i’ll let u know about SD bro just gotta get the concrete details for the week mang.

Just the player 1 side.

Tonight we shall have a gathering. Anyone and everyone is invited. The more the merrier. Anyone new who is interested please text me at 310 344 9367. I’ll be going around to collect the E fee so please have it ready when I ask for it. Hope to see y’all tonight.

I’ll try to swing by if I’m not too backed up with work, tonight.

BTW, I’ve been practicing quite a bit with Makoto and Yun. :mp:, :hcb::hk:, etc. with Makoto is one of the most broken tick-throw setups I think I’ve ever really messed with. It’s just so evil and not very gentlemanly, Grant. Not gentlemanly at all.

Edit: Nevermind. Tonight isn’t going to happen. I’m half awake as is, so maybe next time. Hope you guys have fun tonight.

Yo, the KoF people in Mexico is no joke. I went to one of the plazas (malls) down there and they had a KoF 98, 2002 and 2005(some sort of 10th anniversary something or another) and they were playing pretty hard. I asked if they played Street Fighter and they were like “old ones are better”.

That’s freakin beautiful man. I love the old school KOF scene in Mexico. I love it how it runs deep there. Without the Mexican players there would be no KOF scene. God bless em. When ever I see people play KOF 98 or KOF 2002, I just stop and watch fascinated even though I don’t know how to play. Do they also play Garou: Mark of the Wolves there? They say that’s the SNK Third Strike.

I myself just got the arcade board for KOF 98 and Garou: Mark of the Wolves. All I need now is KOF 2002. If I only had the cabinets to put them in. Here’s all fighting game boards I got so far:

Super Street Fighter II Turbo
Third Strike
Hyper Fighting
Street Fighter 1
Guilty Gear Accent Core
Vampire Savior
Alpha 2
Alpha 3
Capcom VS Snk 2
KOF 98
Garou: Mark of the Wolves
MVC2
MVC1
Xmen Vs Street Fighter
Fighter’s History
Fighter’s History Dynamite

So if I ever started a real arcade these would be the fighting games in it. I probably have KOF2002 by then.

If I only had the cash to buy all the versus cabs for it. It would be great:)

Thank you all for showing up and making it an event. We had fourteen people. Thank you Lavell, ALAX, Grant, John, Josh, Kent, Galzpanic, Lee, David, Shooting Blankas, Freakmasta, Another Don, and Muzras.

It was an interesting night. From 7-11 there were only four people who showed up and then all of a sudden at 11 eight people showed up. And then people showed up later after that. It was weird and funny.

The only bad part about a lot of people showing up late is that when one MVC3 player came here at 7pm, he waited two hours for one other MVC3 player to show up so he could play him. I felt sorry for him so I gave his entry fee back because it was a waste of money for him just to wait there for no one. So that’s the bad side when everyone shows up late. The good side is that I get a second wind after midnight when everyone shows up. I told the guy next time just to come late because normally MVC3 players be coming really late.

But it’s no big deal it’s just the way it goes I guess.

In the mean time everyone have a great weekend and I shall see you next Friday I hope.

I should have asked, but I didn’t :(. I didn’t see a Garou machine anywhere, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they did play it.

A cousin of mine actually has his own arcade machines as well. He has 3, but he got a few boards. He has one of those SNK machines that holds 4 games. I think he had KoF 98, but it must have been some sort of Rainbow Edition because he was doing some crazy shit. He also plays Samurai Shodown 2.

might check this out. funny, one of my boys wants to get an arcade going in his garage.

Come on over bro. Nice avatar I have a poster of that Alex Ross picture of Harley and the Joker. Love Harley. That’s actually the comic book of cover of the first appearance of Harley Quinn in the comic book. I actually have two copies. I wonder if it went up.

Suga: I just bought the arcade board for KOF 2002. If I ever make a real arcade hopefully we can have a revival of all the best old school 2D fighting games. Personally I think Garou: MOV needs to be rediscovered. It came out the same time 3S did in 99 but never got the respect it deserved. I heard it’s one of the most technical games out there.

You mean I can finally beast on people irl with B. Jenet if you make an arcade?! I r excite! 8D

It’s a long shot but I got the collection lined up. All I need now is to buy all the Japanese h2h cabs but that’s gonna be expensive. It’d be cheaper to buy American cabs but I know the younger generation only likes Japanese. And Japanese is universal now. But I think it’s worth it since fighting games have been my obession since I was a kid. I can’t believe this obession lasted this long lol.

Do you have a rough estimate as far as how much you may have to pay for both the h2h cabs and a location for the arcade? It would be nice if we could raise up the money for all this since there is quite a bit that would need to happen. I know I support your ambition since places like yours are worth keeping around…that and, well, I wanna play dat Vampire Savoir and take people’s money in 3rd Strike. :frowning:

I did the numbers and because I want to put in 5 h2h Super Turbos and 5 h2h Third Strikes as well as all the other games in h2h and as well as getting SSF4 AE is 25K. Leasing a place I don’t know how much. But 25K start up ain’t bad.

Well, at least the good news is that this a bargain compared to buying the Tekken Tag Tournament 2 board (30K with limited plays, lol). Have you thought of any solutions to raise up the money? I ALMOST want to say charge $10 at the door instead of $5, but even if you did, that probably wouldn’t amount up to much since only so many people show up every Friday. =/

It’ll take a year or two to start up if I attempted it. The good news is that my cousin said he MIGHT want to be partners. But for now this is all speculation.

It would be nice though. My only worry is what would the fighting game scene look like 2-3 years from now. Would all the old school games still attract the SF4 generation and beyond?

I know even now the old school games are old for the SF4 generation which is kinda the primary target for the arcade today. But as the scene shows revivals can happen.
