Don…
Your neighbor got us FUCKED up. A quick round of shots turned into us heading back over to his party-garage and getting wayyy to schwapped. That guy is nuts.
Somehow I ended up drinking absinthe with him at 5am. Good/bad times.

You my friend have surpassed Symbolic in partying with my neighbor lol. You are now Top Tier.
Now can’t you see why I was hiding from him lol. Love the guy but I’m afraid he has issues. But thank you for partying with him and I’m glad you got home safe.
On a more boring note I ended up going to Alex’s Arcade in the afternoon because I had to go to the OC. And then later on at night went to Super Arcade because I met my cousin from Diamond Bar. I saw Andy OCR at Super and Sanchez at Alex’s. Oh wait that’s the other way around. I saw Sanchez at Super and Andy OCR at Alex’s. Either way I got killed by both. Sanchez in 3S and Andy in SF4 lol.
That Sanchez…
“He has issues” is putting it lightly. That guy is nuts.
I think it’s time for an intervention lol.
Neg. It was cash. Nobody out here knows how to run a tournament.
So that leaves me to wonder, will you be helping them see how it should be done and run like you had talked about before, or is it too early to tell right now?
At this point, I’m only really willing to help a couple people out. The guy that’s running the whole thing I don’t think should be running anything because the way that he’s doing it and his mind set isn’t a way to succeed. He doesn’t try to network any of these monthly tournaments across SRK. He made a tournament thread in the tourney section of SRK 3 days before the actual tournament. At that, he didn’t post it in any of the “local” communities and he essentially just bumped an old thread from the tournament that happened in August. So, he didn’t even make a new thread, he just bumped the old one with info on the new tournament. Everything he’s doing is through the Facebook page they have setup and at that, there’s only 8 or 9 people really active with that.
They have no idea how to run tournaments either. For example, they did a Tekken 6 tournament that had 6 entrants. By logic, this should be a round robin tournament simply cuz there isn’t enough people to run a legit bracket. But since they’re using tio Tournament Organizer, they were able to make a 6 man bracket. Whatever. What really irked me with how the guy running everything was running it all, was he decided that with a 6 man tournament at a $5 entrance fee, he still wants to to a 70/20/10 split. This translates to $21/$6/$3. He asked for my opinion and a couple other people’s opinion on how to to the prize split, but decided he was gonna run it his own way. None of us said it should have been a top 3 payout.
Oh, and he never asked the competitors what they wanted to do with the prize split. He just took it upon himself to make the decision.
Overall, I can see a competitive scene emerging from this community (at best, I see low tier players coming out), but I don’t see it happening with the guy running it all right now. I think that eventually he is going to rely on assuming people will help with running the tournaments (I helped with the running of the brackets and taught one person how to properly run brackets and round robin format). He says its his tournament but seems more focused on wanting to play and spectate rather than actually running the tournament. Myself and the other person who I taught how to run brackets properly are both thinking that come the next tournament, we let the guy in charge take care of everything.
It sounds more like he already is trying to take charge of everything and is just going around asking people for the sake of being able to say he got opinions. That split was horrible and for few entrants in the tournament, I agree with what you and the others thought about the way it should have been versus the way it was.
Good to know you can see people rising out of the scene over there. That seems like a win over what happened.
He is taking charge of everything, but the problem is, he doesn’t know what he’s taking charge over. There is no real competitive scene out here. Just a bunch of gamers trying to become competitive without actually knowing what being competitive is.
How the Kansas chicks looking out there? My theory is that they got body because they’re farm girls who eat more. I remember when I went to LMU this blond girl from Nebraska I knew had a great body and that All American face:).
I mean that’s why Playboy gets a lot of the girls from the Midwest cause they got body.
Midwestern girls:)
Thoughts on your tournament organizing:
Do you thinking that shoryuken.com is only popular in California and maybe New York? I don’t mean by just looking at the website but active when it comes to meeting up?
Like if I did my gathering in Kansas and I was using srk as a way to get the word out I don’t think it would be as successful. My theory So Cal and srk are really connected and in tuned with one another when it comes to reality and website.
Places like So Cal and New York are so successful with SRK simply because of the abundance of players in those regions. In Kansas, the number is a lot smaller because of the lack of people. I feel that one of the benefits to being in Wichita is that it is a central hub. It’s about a 2-3 hour drive from Kansas City and about the same from Oklahoma City. Then there is also these little cities in Kansas that have some players there but aren’t exposed to the competitive community simply because of the lack of players out there.
SRK is that central hub because if you google anything about street fighter you’ll get SRK on the first page. So I feel that if these people out here utilized SRK more they would get a better turnout to their tournaments. They could post about the tournament in other threads that are within the region and within driving distance (like Kansas City and Oklahoma City) and that can entice more players to come out. They could also benefit by actually using the Wichita thread they have in the regionals. Nobody posts in that thread so it looks like its a dead community. Using Facebook is alright if you want to create a tighter community, but the same thing can be done here on SRK (take this thread as an example. They talk about similar shit on the FB page).
I really think that its not one big thing that I have issues with in this community, but its a lot of little things that add up that can be fixed if they figure out how to ask questions to people who know whats suppose to be going on (which, sadly enough, seems to only be me).
Oh, and there be some super fine bitches out here.
Road Trip!!!
I’m at a place called The Donutman in San Dimas and these donuts are good. Try the Peach Donut and The Tiger Tail. Yum.
White Woman for the win!?
Corn fed
Exactly:
Great examples are Jillian Grace, Karen Mc Dougal, and Shannon N Steward. Lol.
When I go to Brea or Laguna a lot of tall pretty skinny white girls but there’s so skinny. It’s all about that farm girl body. Midwestern stock.
Actually same applies with Filipino girls. In the Phillippines the girls there are so skinny because they don’t eat much. No curves. In the US with all the American size portions in the food, they got great figures. Kinda like Kim Kardashian but the ass not as big lol.
^
A True connoisseur of white woman… lately Victoria Justice, Emma Stone, Katy Perry and Dev is my favs.
Katy Perry rocks. Emma Stone meh. Isn’t Victoria Justice Latin?
I like Blake Lively, Leighten Meister, Zooey Deschenel, Katerine Heigel, and even Kristen Cavilari lol. Kristen Cavilari is real pretty in person.
My cousin moved to Colorado for work and he told me that the snow bunnies there are tall and they love Asian guys. Road Trip!!!
