Don's Arcade aka Astro City: Torrance/Carson Fridays 8pm-3am

He works security for the Adult Con? Let him sneak us in!!!:stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for keeping the place open till late again Don. I was surprised how many people were there when I came in @ 11 yesterday! It was great playing against the regulars and some new peeps, and I look forward to seeing everyoneā€™s progress next week!

ā€¦By that end, i better start perfecting my combosā€¦

Yesterday was fun. It was bigger than the last time I went. And It was pretty cool seeing someone use the same team( Ammy/Hulk/Sent) as me but seeing it used in a different way. I thought it was coool how new guys came and they were pretty good. Hope to see you guys more often

He probably could, he was talking about doing it if he got the chance. But, he needs the money, so I wonā€™t put him at risk, and, to be honest, my interest is purrty low. If this was like two years ago, COMPLETELY different story.

Don youā€™ve got competition!
Arcade game collector turns basement into funhouse - JSOnline

It was our pleasure to visit your arcade Don.
We both had a good time and enjoyed your hospitality and the competition.

Hope to make it out there sometime soon again!

I seriously question the claims that people turn out to play pacman ;p

Letā€™s get a strong showing for Evo this year Gents!

I will money match everyone 5 bux a week to make my evo trip money!

ā€¦ KIDDING. Or am I.

If youā€™re willing to money match, Iā€™ll be more than happy to oblige.

Cool to know that Iā€™m not the only weirdo who collects arcade cabinets lol. But there is also the Keystone II guy up north in San Jose and a guy from New Mexico PMā€™ed me and showed me his collection.

Heā€™s from a different region and era. In So Cal we love fighting games. He likes the games from the 70ā€™s and 80ā€™s. This is right before SFII dominated the world. Those games are awesome. The games from the 70ā€™s and 80ā€™s are actually more expensive then the 90ā€™s fighters. Mainly because theyā€™re dedicated machines. Dedicated machines means that the cabinet is specifically made for that game. Fighting games, especially Capcom fighting games with the six button layout, are easy to put into other machines. So collecting for me is a little easier then that guy. But I always liked arcade games better then console games. When they release an old classic arcade game on console, it feels so cheapened. Thereā€™s more of a thrill playing on the machine then anything else. I actually donā€™t own any other game on my PS3 or Xbox360 besides Marvel 3, Street Fighter IV, and Tekken 6 lol.

If I could, Iā€™d collect from that era as well. I do want to own Arkanoid, Punch Out, Super Punch Out, Ms. Pacman, Double Dragon, Double Dragon 2, Final Fight, Bad Dudes, and VS Super Mario Bros. Rolling Thunder is a really good game. I would really love to own Super Mario Bros in itā€™s cabinet version (VS Super Mario Bros). It would be cool because so many people played Mario growing up. It would be cool if people could beat the game on one quarter.

Hey is Initial D 3 a game worth owning? I mean in the classic sense. I know when it comes to racing games itā€™s always the latest game that is the game that always gets played.

Iā€™ll take you on,
ā€“ kiddingā€¦ or AM I?

Nice insight, i can imagine how much work it took to put that together

if you get a racing game make sure its in a pair!
and initial D 5 sucks, and 6 isnt out yet

so 3/4 is cool

Fuck this guy ^

I will be making an attempt to show up this Friday. I donā€™t play Marvel too much but I know a little so Iā€™ll mostly be playing 3s and marvel 2.

^ Youā€™re still alive?

I donā€™t really know how to answer that question. People have been spending a lot of time trying to convince me that Iā€™m dead. All in all, yes, I am still alive. Hi!

Lenin never dies. He just goes back under his bridge when we donā€™t see him for a while.

JAY KAY. Need more 3S love here.

Hey Lenin,

You donā€™t play MVC3? A lot of guys who I know who were good at MVC2 are now good at MVC3. Actually the guys who were good at MVC2 at my place are now the best guys at MVC3 at my place.

What donā€™t you like about MVC3? Assuming you donā€™t like MVC3.

fixed that for you
