Really? Over at Industry, the older games are closer to $0.25-$0.50. The shinier, newer games were almost $1.
Either way, modern games are spoiled nowadays. They want to stay at home, go into training mode, play online, and rarely show up to an offline event. They feel like they have to “train” for offline events, never thinking that offline training is x10 more beneficial than just staying at home. You can’t level up in a vacuum. If you want to beat the community, you have to be a deep part of it.
Hopefully SFIV is considered an “old game” at this point. At Alex’s Arcade and Super Arcade, it’s only 25-50 cents.
For me, price isn’t really a problem. I’ve just been seeing a lot of people complain about the prices at this spot and I’d like to see the arcade do well. The amount of arcades dying out in SoCal makes me depressed. Hopefully someone dedicated can set up ranbats, tournaments, etc at Round 1 to keep people interested.
Tonight we shall have a gathering NEW HOURS from 8pm-3am. Anyone and everyone is invited. The more the merrier. I’ll be going around to ask for the $5 E Fee so please have it ready when I ask. Anyone new who wishes to join us please text me at 310 344 9367.
Round1 is a great place in a great location because its in a LA spot. It’s around Carson, Cerritos, Long Beach, etc. The SF4 community here should support it because it has a great setup. If there is regularly a big enough crowd playing SF4 it shouldn’t be too expensive. You’d be doing more waiting than playing. The more ppl play on a machine and gather around it, It shouldn’t be that bad.
