First of all thanks for playing my machines. I appreciate it.
So every two weeks on a Friday morning I collect from the machines and IMO they are doing well and I’m satisfied. I mean it’s not a lot of money that will make me rich (I go 50/50 with the owner) but I’m happy:) The owner is happy with MVC2 but he’s not too hot on 3S. I knew all along that MVC2 was gonna outperform 3S by a lot but I love 3S and I want it to be there so ppl can play it. I told him to keep it in because some of you like the game and my goal is to try to get as many ppl playing it as I can.
But if the owner starts to feel that 3S is not worth keeping he might tell me to take it away or swap another game. So I don’t want to force people to play a game they don’t want to play but if the 3S is gone from the smoke shop in the next few months or so, then you’ll know why. So here’s the worst case scenario if it happens, I’ll swap out the 3S for another MVC2 and put the 3S in my house and everyone will play it there (If you guys want to come back lol). Because since MVC2 never gets played in my house anyway and 3S does then that might be the best choice. But we shall see. I hope he let’s me keep 3S in there.
But for me thank you all for playing, I appreciate every game you guys play and I’m glad you’re enjoying my cabinets. God bless you guys:)
Sad day at the smoke shop:( I had to replace the 3S with a Super Turbo. The owner said 3S wasn’t performing well with the crowd so I suggested ST since SF2 is like apple pie and a lot of ppl grew up with it. And also it’s a lot like SSF4.
The good news is that my place will have 4 Third Strikes again:)
I like the idea of the new generation at El Co getting down on ST. I’m sure a lot of kids know how to play that game. 3S will be reserved for the hardcore who come to my place.
Oh the setting on ST is on easiest. For me playing the computer on easiest wasn’t that hard. I got all the way to Akuma with Guile. But then again Super Turbo is hard no matter what setting but it shouldn’t be that overwhelming. I think. And the Turbo setting is on Turbo 2 aka the same setting that is generally accepted in Japan.
Just play 3S at my house. The comp for 3S is better at my house then El Co. Jack told me no one plays 3S while everyone plays MVC2. I think ST there will be a good companion to MVC2. I hope. I’m banking on the idea that ST is classic and that everyone played it growing up and that it is the 2D version of SSF4. So the ST competition should be good especially if there are ppl who know how to use the original 8 SF2 characters.
Resres do you get into that crowded Marvel rotation that Jack keeps telling me about?
Oh ya in case you guys don’t know, here’s some tricks for the arcade version of ST including how to choose Akuma but be careful you might be left with Ryu if you do it wrong.
When you do the code and pick the original characters, for example Ken does not have a super and he cannot soften throws but he’s stronger, I think he dizzy opponents easier then the original ST version, and the Shoryuken is invincible. It doesn’t trade and always wins out. He also feels old school in the way he doesn’t have those crazy kicks.
So I played the ST machine at my house today and set the CPU to the easiest setting. It doesn’t seem that hard. It doesn’t seem super hard like when your first character kills you in two combos. It should be manageable.
Hey Ryan. The two cabs I put in the smokeshop are American. All my cabs in my garage in my home right now are American except one. I have one Sega Astro City Third Strike but it’s not versus.
That one guy got pissed because he thought 3s was better (or, he thought he played better in that game) and he was missing his “combos” in ST. And throwing people pisses them off too. Even though when they throw me I can tech it.
I think people just hate Neal there in general…
btw, is it possible to put more space between the cabs? I don’t mind rubbing elbows, but some people do. My friend seems really intimidated when he has to rub elbows with a big black guy, lol. That and some people just are holding the joystick at the wrong angle so their moves don’t come out. I think it might help a little.
