Por que?
the quote is somewhere in the thread i believe. but i think he basically said he said everything he needed to in the first two movies…no point for him in a third.
edit: found it
Integrity.

Ip Man Prequel Trailer

This trailer alone looks better then anything that came out for years…Shit looks fucking amazing!
kinda weird samo is in both movies…lol tryin to get dat ip man money. am i crazy or does the main character look like donnie, the way he’s styled up,just carries himself as if he’s a younger not so mature man.
Its not that, they got alot of the cast from ip man 2 to take part in this. From just the trailer i can see that the northern, sammo, and sammo’s student (who plays younger ip man) is in this. And they got ip chun (ip mans real son) to take part in this as well.
P.S watched ip man 2 twice this weekend. I thought it was ok and not as good as the first (fight scenes and story wise). What i didnt like was the fact they made Twister look like hes on some crazy steroid shit. Hes taking shoots from both sammo and donnie like it was nothing… come on.
And also the fact that fearless by jet li had a simliar plot…
weiiiiirdddd.
well to be fair, a world champion heavyweight boxer would probably tear up any kung fu masters ass. 2m + 110kg against somebody whos barely 1.60 and weighs like 50 to 60 kg is gonna get toasted. just fact.
wtf does this have to do with anything…jesus its mike tyson vs bruce lee all over again.
I thought about making that thread again. I know I would get ban, but it just might be worth it. As long as Wiz let me read it for like 2 weeks before he bans me.
It looks alright.
i was responding to this with the comparison.
makes sense to realise that it’s the prequel to donnie yens movies…
in the ring, deffinetly/highly likely. a top boxing is the equlivant to focused power in every single movement, now if your in the ring using a deflective art that practises damaging weaker targets it’s gonna come down to the master being VERY exceptional to survive in the confined space
While I did enjoy Ip Man 2, I do think the stuff in the first movie was better.
Two things in particular that I think is more prominent in the first movie are:
-
A lot of the fighting was to really beat up people. This resulted in more devastating attacks. Whereas in Ip Man 2 you get to see him trying to just stop, disable or prove a point with most of his fight scenes.
-
There’s less “craziness” in Ip Man 1, which I think benefited it. The fighters barely left the ground, no flipping, no incredible midair balancing hijinks, which I think made it seem more grounded.
Then again, there’s stuff in Ip Man 2 that it does well too. Like the skill levels of the enemies being closer, not to mention more even fights instead of him just raping everyone all the time. One particular thing I like is how he changes stances and how he uses the stances to start his fights, which wasn’t really seen in Ip Man 1 (see the fights against that second master on the table, or when the pace ramps up in the final fight).
Well that table top fight between Donnie and Sammo was epic… lol it was like watching Kenshiro and Roah when they did their 100 cracked fist at each other.
i thought the table fight sucked ass, the whole movie was kinda meh. ive seen 1 like 4 times already since its release. i really dont wanna see 2 ever again 2.5 outta 5, or 5 outta 10. the more i think about it, the less i like it.
Ip Man 1 was significantly better than 2. In the first film, every fight had a sense of urgency. In the second film it seems like shit was going down just for the hell of it.
Question. How of much of this stuff actually happened?
