When does the opponent fall out? I’m not sure if it matters that much, but I always dash, jump, air dash, then web zip. That is the most consistent way for me. Also, it might help if you OTG with web zip, j.S, land, s.M/c.M, s.H xx M web throw. There might be too much hit stun decay by the end of the combo because web zip, j.H, land, sH xx M web throw lets the opponent float a lot more, which deteriorates the hitstun more. Also, when you are doing the L web swing, dont wait too long to j.M j.M j.S. Lastly, after the first web throw, you can super jump then cancel into air dash quickly, then OTG with j.S. This will scale the hitstun less and using a super jump S will actually make the opponent get hit up rather then down, so you can go straight into s.H once you land. I could probably help you out more if I knew where exactly the combo is dropping, but hopefully I helped you with this post.
Not to derail the conversation or anything, but did any know you can combo off of a hard tag with Spider-Man coming in? o_O It worked by an accident when I tagged X-23 out for Spider-man and was able to get a c.l off. From there I tried it again, but did his c.M and I was able to convert it into his BnB combo. So far it works on Taskmaster and Rocket Raccoon. I am going to see if I can record it to show (Somehow).
Yeah this has been discovered. I’m pretty sure xero showed off some hard tag combos with spidey at the end of one of his vids.
Yeah I think it was the “basic combos explained” video I posted to machinima. I’m sure by now I can make it stronger but I hardly need use for it and its spacing dependent. Also its not full hit stun scaling
I found something pretty interesting today, not sure if this is new. After a spider-sting~bite, you can go into web throw without having to OTG by doing cr.M, cr.H xx M web throw once you land. I’m not sure if this will actually be that useful though, because when testing out combos with it, I couldn’t really do anything more than a combo that had a web zip OTG and I got less damage in the end. I think the specific combos were:
1.) L spider-sting~bite, land, cr.M cr.H xx M web throw, dash-jump-airdash, web zip OTG, j.S, land, st.M cr.H xx L web swing j.M j.M j.S+Doom missiles, land, S, superjump, j.M j.M j.H j.S, Doom missiles OTG, S xx TK H webthrow, Maximum spider
2.) L spider-sting~bite, OTG web zip, land, st.M st.H xx M web throw, dash-jump-airdash, web zip OTG, j.S, land, st.M cr.H xx L web swing j.M j.M j.S+Doom missiles, land, S, superjump, j.M j.M j.H j.S, Doom missiles OTG, S xx TK H webthrow, Maximum spider
The first combo got 691,000 and the second got 725,000 or somewhere in that range. So this stuff might come in handy if you start with a beam assist before the spider-sting~bite or some shit like that because that would make the hitstun deteriorate more, but just off of a raw spider-sting you would be getting more damage if you OTG. Doing cr.M cr.H xx M web throw might be more consistent though, because OTG-ing after a spider-bite sometimes crosses up and I can never tell when it will or when it won’t.
I wish we could get those symbols for Light, Medium, Heavy back. Makes this shit easier to read.
You can actually start with s:h: xx :l: web throw and get a bit more out of it. You should still be pushing out 800k if you’re using missiles.
Oh well that seems a lot simpler. Yeah I really should be getting over 800k with Doom missiles, because I remember getting near 850k when I started with L spider-sting~bite, land, call EM Disruptor, cr.M cr.H xx L web throw. Though I did do the cross up with Doom missiles in the corner that time, but that would only give you around 40k more.
This probably won’t be possible, but it would be cool if we could get a second web swing if we did that Aachi Teki plink dash stuff after the web throw. It would be impractical for because I can’t pull that shit off in real matches though.
From midscreen you can do spider sting/bite s:h: xx :l: web throw OTG zip j:h: dash under s:m: s:h: xx web throw dash in (they are cornered by now) s:m: c:h: :s: sj:m: sj:m: sj:h: xx :h: web swing j:m: j:m: j:s: land jump up forward and call Doom land
web throw :l: web throw
web throw Maximum Spider. That’s like 833k or so.
If you start in the corner you can use your other assist to pick up after the second web throw since without it the opponent will flip out. Using the assist you can go straight into :s: sj:h: xx :h: web swing sj:m: sj:s: land etc etc.
Pretty much you can use it for real damage but you have to actually use most of Spideys tools. If you can get web throws out the corner without using normals you get extra damage without the cost of sacrificing hit stun.
833k isn’t bad, especially since I’ll get around 1 mil if I DHC into magnetic shockwave after. I’m just a bit hesitant when it comes to doing dash under because I’m afraid I’ll be too close to the corner or some shit will happen with the spacing and I’ll mess it up. That’s why I need to pay attention to where I am at all times. Same with the up forward jump + Doom missiles thing, I’m afraid the missiles won’t hit because the opponents hitboxes are too small or something. Idk, I guess I just need to practice that stuff more because I haven’t really tried getting those things consistent in combos.
Also, one more thing, I couldn’t really get s.H xx L web throw to work after a spider-sting midscreen. I was trying it on Spencer and I tried dashing before hitting heavy but I still couldn’t get it consistently, I only got it to work a couple times. Idk maybe I don’t have the speed to cancel it quick enough or something, but I’m probably going to stay away from doing that in matches.
Anyway, thanks for the combo help Xero. I’m closer to fully optimizing combos after spider-stings, which is important because I hit a lot of people with spider-stings, whether it be an anti-air or overhead they weren’t expecting.
I forgot to mention you should walk up a slight but before doing s:h:. I also didn’t mention the difference in damage is that of the difference between the two starting web throws. Spider sting is good in Spideys rushdown so optimizing damage off it is a necessity
Oh yeah I know that L web throw would give you more damage than M or H in the beginning of the combo.

Yes just dash in with s:h: then do web throw. I got to thinking, so I’m combining a few clips together to make a demonstration since it is a strong part of his rushdown and he can kill from it if you practice it. Ill be showing a few variants from midscreen and how to maximize when starting from the corner
Cool, I’ll be looking forward to that vid of yours. It would be nice of we could find a way to maximize damage on Happy Birthday’s because spider-sting is a happy b-day machine. Right now all I do is spider-sting/bite, land, cr.H xx L web swing j.M j.M j.S, land, cr.H xx L spider-sting xx CA. Problem is that only works if I can get them to the corner, otherwise I would have to DHC to shockwave immediately.
I can do happy birthday combos but they aren’t as optimized as the solo ones because of the lack of web throws plus the inability to OTG both characters at once
What are some X-factor combos that I can learn with Spider-main? I want to learn combos from all three levels of X-factor.

Just do your regular L webswing mms. s.mh H sting, c.H xx L sting crawler assault. Dhc to sphere flame. Xfactor sphere flame again if you have to.
i was watching fgtv stream and champ would just raw s strider assist then superjump combo without hitting the point character.
are the OP combos still viable? Could someone post notations for spideys optimal BnBs in different situations please (off a throw if possible, off a basic hit confirm, and optimal web throw combo I guess). Im really really interested in using him, but I have no clue what I should be doing combo wise unfortunately =/
