Does What a Spider Can! UMvC3 Spidey Combo Thread

I found something today in training with cr. :h: xx :l: spidersting/bite. When I did that on accident in the middle of my combo it crossed them up but I could only get it to work midscreen. I’m not sure what this could do for you except maybe keep you away from the corner if you know that you are getting close. I only tried it with light spider-sting but I’ll try it with the other ones.

Anytime man. As for the crossup that was in the first one also. what happens is you perform a kara spider sting using c:h: which moves Spidey forward. It was useful in the last game after web ball but now that everything air techs it’s not so useful anymore. On the flip side though using a vertical assist you can kara zip straight up and make for an untechable situation but you have to be quick on the draw as you’ll have to combo from the air and bring them down since you already used your zip.

I’m working on a UWT reset that maxes out hitstun and ends in Skrull’s Tenderizer in the corner. I figure that since the assist pops them up and the hitstun is maxed out, they’ll pop out and since UWT has high priority, it should out range them no matter which direction they tech. Before I waste anymore time, think it’s possible? :sweat:

Find out the max range of UWT then back dash slightly to it. Doing this should make you safe from forward tech while preventing them from neutral and back teching as well.

corner, combo builds about 1.5 meters, does 1.06 mil IIRC (but definitely does 1mil+). the dhc from maximum spider to emerald cannon has to be timed correctly for it to connect, otherwise the opponent will go spinning into the air if done too early or land right in front of shehulk in hard knockdown if done too late. i believe modified versions can be done midscreen for equivalent damage, but i’ll need to experiment. i tried replacing the final spidersting xx MS with a third webthrow into tk MS, but couldn’t get the spacing right. that requires spidey’s back to be closer to the wall. maybe there’s another way with airdash after one of the webthrows.

Ok just an FYI, when posting combos do not post them if testing on Dr Strange. Damage will be inaccurate as he takes more damage than everyone else. I tested the combo I posted up earlier that hits for 708K on Wolverine and the difference was significant enough. On Wolverine doing the same combo was only 689K rather than the 708K I originally noted.

Hey I’m new to Spidey. I noticed not too many people used him so I wanted to give him a try. Right now I have a hard time getting any good damage done. I’m running Spidey/Hawkeye/Wesker.

Right now I’m doing…
cr.:l::m::h:, :l:web swing, j.:m::m::s:, s.:m::h:, :h: Spider sting -> Bite, Maximum Spider.
I don’t like the damage it does or the meter. The problem is, I have a very hard time landing maximum spider after any combo long than that. Why?

Also, which is better for getting around the level? His air dash or web zip?

Oh that reminds me I need to finish that movement write up in the other thread :lol: why yall let me forget stuff like that? give me a second :rofl: while I’m writing it up check out the ‘one for jj’ thread for ideas on movement thus far. As for damage he has more stuff for better damage it all depends on how you start it but I’ll get into that after I do this write up since it’s hot on my mind.

Web Zip and his air dash both have their separate uses, but Web Zip will be your primary use, due to the fact that you can cancel into it and actually block once your web connects with its target and you start flying. Spidey’s air dash is best utilized at mid range, due to it’s nice startup speed and the strength of square dashes at that range.

Here’s an example of a combo I can’t get down…

**I always get to the j.:m::m::h: part and the guy always flips out and air recovers before the H-web-swing hits. It’s like this for any combo with an air web swing. I can’t get the MS to land.

For that combo I use j.:h: j.:s: instead of j.:m: j.:m: j.:s: after :l: Web swing and I only perform one j.:m: before the j.:h: xx :h: Web Swing after the super jump. you adding in those one or two extra hits may be scaling it too much.

I swear Spider-Man has one of the most annoying j.:s: in the game.

I’ll do cr.( :l::m::h:) xx L-Web-Swing, j.:h: j.:s: and after that I can’t doing anything. I’m just going to have to spend more time in training room.

actually, you need to pause after the web swing and attempt to delay the j.:h: and then delay the j.:s: as much as possible so that you will land on the ground in time to land a standing normal on the opponent before they hit the ground and tech roll.

can you grab someone when they are in block stun? I’ve been trying to do it and its driving me crazy

just do jMMS, it barely changes the combo. in vanilla you lost a little damage but gained a little meter for replacing H with MM, dunno how it is now but I’m sure it’s similar.

You cannot grab someone in blockstun but a glitch was found where you can grab someone on the first frame they would be put in blockstun in vanilla.

Not while in block stun. Spidey can do triple web swing combos though right after the third web swing throw the opponent when they tech. Since it’s low enough they shouldn’t be able to tech it either so it’s a guaranteed reset.

Well I was gonna post up some combos hitting over 700K but I forgot them and I’m tired so back to the lab tomorrow true believers

^^^ I don’t think you can grab while someone is in block stun…in any fighting game.

I eventually figured that out in time. Now I’m doing…
