Dammit getting a hit from a web zip completely screws HSD. I get a lot of hits on wiffed sword normals, jH on the way down, cr.LH (M almost always doesn’t reach) xx combo. I can’t get H webswing to connect in the air starting with this (probably becomes character specific) so I might have to bring spider sting to the middle of the combo again to make it more reliable…
Just a hunch, but are you using forward dash, forward jump, IAD, zip after the web throw? Because if you are, then that may be the problem why you’re getting whiffs on c:h: and j:s: parts. As for the sj part, you’re right about the delayed sting, you have to hit a close to just-frame bite. For the missiles, I just press c:h: together with assist (no plink) and it still works with no problems but you have to press both as soon as you hit the ground to catch the bite bounce.
I think that’s even better. Haha. Book says, sj:m: sj:h: :uf:zip sj:h:, :h: swing to MS.
How does this work?
You can do it with any TAC to Spidey but it’s not relatively easy to do. You have to time both sj:m: sj:h: so that the :uf:zip connects. It’s not even close to practical. I was trying to do a TAC using :h: web ball, similar to my TAC to Doom using fingah leizors but even with reset juggle state when in sj after a TAC, the :h: web ball still pops quick if it’s after a long combo. I’m looking for a decent TAC with Spidey because I don’t want to mess up my char sequence since Spidey to Doom DHC is quite as tricky as the Sent one.
So I went to test out a quick combo to see how much that kara finisher would add on and was actually quite surprised. I took the basic double web swing combo starting off a c:l: and ending in the kara sting double web throws and got 641.5K damage. When I added the kara sting’s and call Doom it changed the combo damage to 793K. This was all for one meter but that’s a big jump in damage given how bad scaling works on Spiderman and how low in damage that combo original does. The transcript looks like this.

Blame Doom for the damage, it’s his fault.
I blame missiles… I really was trying to go back to plasma beam :lol: but I can’t deny the fact that missiles help Spidey’s overall damage a lot.
It’s his hidden missile. It’s the best for combo damage and extension but I’d say Sentinel assist is best overall. DHC-wise from MS though, they both suck.
Yeah it still feels like Spidey and Doom are BFFs.
I think anyone running a Spidey/Doom/X team needs 2 types of BnBs. The first uses X’s assist to get the hit then, then kills with a high damage combo using Hidden missiles for combo extension. The second uses Doom missiles to get the hit (which is probably necessary in certain match ups), combo off missiles into webthrow (otherwise its very difficult to continue a combo off missiles) then uses X’s assist to extend the combo.
Sentinel is good but I wouldn’t say it’s the best assist to back Spidey. Drones still come out slow and are escapable more so against Spidey than other characters.
Beam assists are close but Spidey doesn’t have the same ability as other chars to confirm off of those unlike with drones where you can easily do a web throw from. Spidey also doesn’t have a hard time covering assists and keeping opponents to the ground because of his Morrigan like zoning. But, the thing is, this topic doesn’t belong here.
slightly saddening to know that i spent so much time on the simpler version and now i don’t have a setup to really practice this amazing stuff. just too sick with three cross unders into web throws gahhhhhhh

I think it can but for some reason today I’m having problems switching sides in the corner so if close to the corner I had been omitting the second web swing series and going into s:m: c:h: xx :l: spider sting… after the zip j:s:. Still nets 860K damage and a meter gain of about 25%
Which is nuts because that mixup is pretty easy to avoid now.
Well, I just broke the 900k barrier without kara stings or Doom assist. Does ~916k IIRC.

After that, I can DHC to Stalking Flare and get 3 charges for 1.079 M, OR I can do Mass Change, flight, j.:h: xx :l: Dark Hole to break 1.1M.
I learned today that I’m able to dash under Dark Hole assist after an OTG and manage to get a :l: Web Throw afterwards but the timing is very strict. X_X I’m up for it though. ;O
I’ll also be experimenting with getting the cross-up Sting from an OTG Web Zip-> Dark Hole in the corner to see if I’m able to get a mid-screen Crawler Assault in a good enough spot in a combo. If not, I’ll just keeping working with getting the cross-up from a kara Sting, and then using Dark Hole after the mid-screen Crawler Assault for an OTG. ;D
Good stuff! Aside from Doom though, the only chars I think that can break around 850++, single assist would be wall bouncers and Sentinel.
