*d+3+4 stomp guaranteed from throws (d/f,d/f+1, d+3+4 = 50+%)
*SICK Divine Cannon - if anything, better than 5.0 DC simply because it tech crouches better
*DC guaranteed from low kick parry
Paul:
*Rolldash into d+4,2 mixups (brought back in 5.0+)
Lei:
*Razor Rush was too good for the game itself, CH garnered frames plus stupid damage - also meant his combos did good damage as well
*d/b+4 was pretty good
Yoshi:
*FLASH
*Shinguard - ultimate keep out move
Law:
*Dunno the commands for this guy, but he had guaranteed big time combos from parry (NC that launches)
Xiaoyu:
*She’s invisible/untouchable
Jin:
*EWGF
*LS combos
*DEWGF guaranteed from running kick (f,f,f+3)
Obviously there's more to add - but knowledge isn't one of my strong suits.
As for TTT >>>ing DR, if you lived and breathed tag, then really you won’t like any other Tekken Namco will EVER give to you now. That’s a big fat promise.
No, it was Ogre ----> Jin -> Ling/Heihachi, but well maybe Ling is even a tad bit better then Hei and it should be Ogre ----> Jin -> Ling -> Heihachi. But besides Ogre there was no char in terms of being too powerfull. Mid Tier like Law and Lei (yup not the bad T4 or 5 Lei) were great, also Nina and Yoshi had really good stuff to work with …
Yup and that stupid good Parry leading into huge damage all the time …
But nothing compares to WM (coudn’t be breaked) from good old Ogre. Add f,f,f+3, 4 or Hunting Hawks on block into 4 or WM and you can laugh the whole day, however it’s kinda fun …
I played at a few T3 tournies, but always failed to make it to the top at any of them besides a local one lol. Sadly I just got good at Heihachi, Ogre and Lei when the game was already dead around the year 1999 to 2000 … -_- Sadly germany has no real arcades and just got some machines here and there and these console tournies were also not much back in the day besides locals. I also was still pretty young at the time of T3 …However I still don’t regret the time I took for learning the game and playing it for a long time, same with SFA2 at that time …
Yup, definetly the best Law in any modern Tekken. Gotta love his magic 4, the 3,4 on normal hit garanted + big juggle damage afterwards, all those easy half life juggels or the low parry, damn he had a low parry and 3,4 connected fine after it… He was somewere in the upper mid with Lei, Nina and such chars, but sure not top tier. He had not enough BS for a higher positioning.
Law was gay in Tekken3 period, it has been argued if he was considered Top Tier or not back back in TZ when T3 was still fairly high in life. I also remember Heihachi put on Top as well, 1,1,2, Mid-hitting Wgf(Best move in the game period) and wavedash hellsweep mixup’s that had no block stuns…that’s some seriously sick shit, not to mention only a few characters had the low parry, I would consider Jin Upper, but not top, he was good, but didn’t have all the new good bs he earns in TTT.
Also, Ryu1919…are you sure JOP “really” does like DR more than TTT? If I remember correctly, he hates Tekken5 period, and has basically stopped playing it on the competetive level, I remember him talking about how much bs the T5 game engine was.
I don’t like DR much at all, and might I also add “most balanced” means very little to me, I don’t like T5’s game engine which is my biggest beef. TTT definetly was the highest point in the Tekken series bar none, those where the most competetive and most fun Tekken tournaments I ever attended out of the Tekken series.
Well, after years the tiers really got set to some degree. Ask the good players around TZ and you most likly get Ogre -> Jin -> Ling/Hei as definetly tops, the rest follows somehow but surely with a great potential for Law being the best in the upper mid …
Also for Hei, he had a worse cd and wd mix up then Jin, alone for the fact that his Hell Sweeps got weakend from T2 (you can SSL easiely) and his juggle damage can’t compare to Jin (could juggle great from HS and ws2, Hei only from wgf out of the cd game) or Ogre when considering the uber okizeme of him. Even if wgf was unpunishable on block and mid, it still was not that fast, in TTT he was alone better for the special mid ewgf. Also Jin could land his ewgf in T3 garanted after a blocked f,f,f+3 … Jin also has a better SS game thx to the nice little SS2 and he could just do more damage out of lows and mids. However, Hei is still really very strong in T3 … So Jin is definetly top tier and Ling and Hei are only a bit behind.^^
