Ps2 games that don’t support progressive scan (TTT obviously doesnt since it was an original launch game) will have input lag when a TV scales the 480i signal to 480p. Normally you won’t notice this on most games, but for something that requires exact, to the frame input like Tekken or other fighting games, it makes everything feel funny because its noticable enough to be annoying, but not hugely enough to notice by watching the screen
I’m glad I’m not the only one that feels that way.
Why is T3 better than TTT? I prefer DR to TTT but not by much, but why is T3 superior to TTT? I was amazed and loved the advance from T2 to 3 as did everyone else, but why is TTT a worse game?
Yes TTT is a great game I think, and holds up great as the best/most competitive game in the series. It really has the great focus on strong fundamentals and few gimmicks.
This makes so little sense it’s actually maddening, what is wrong withyudsadsfdfadsg.
no when TTT.2 comes out you can compare it with DR with it until TTT>T5
For me TTT/T4>T3>T2>T5>T1…I’m not going to give a gigantic explanation, but TTT simply kicked ass. Fun game engine, technical gameplay, Two-Character Selection, the shit was endless, this game with MvC2 kept me occupied while I slowed down from playing oldschool SF2.
there is no comparison to any version of tekken 5. people played mishimas during tag since day one and no US player ever achieved a level close to korean play and the game was released in 1998.
I take it tag 2 will never be made
How does it not make sense? It can’t be slower. Both games run at 60fps and the frame data for basic attacks and 99% of existing attacks (outside of d/d/b+1) are identical. Movement speed is also the same.
TTT was my dream game. The VS series was big during Tekken 3’s lifespan and I kept wishing that they would make a similar game for the Tekken series. Then my dream came true. It was great. It was the first game I got when I bought a PS2. I don’t play it that much anymore but I think it’s the one Tekken game I played most.
whatever, jinkid is beast
TTT and Tk3 is Tekken. Tk4 and Tk5 shouldn’t even share the same name. That being said. TTT is just very solid. ANY char can win.
TTT is a classic and still present in S.Korean arcade. You will still find people playing in it(unlike Tekken 4 which was replaced in arcade after few months).
Also T5: DR is doing superb and it’ still the most played fighting game in Korean arcade with highest income. I heard it’s same case in Japan…
Namco said from day one that TTT was a one time thing.
For YOUR version perhaps, not for my version (I still dispute whether the frame counts for moves is as similar as you say). Besides, the game appears sluggish and clumsy even when emulated on PC at 60fps as far as I’m concerned when compared to T5.
My point was that the guy immediately jumps to the conclusion that I must suck at the game (which doesn’t make sense, as most people will describe an effect of a game appearing faster if you don’t understand it, not slower), and that not sucking suddenly makes the games animations faster than the were previously.
It’s like going from CvS2 to 3S and vice versa. TOTALLY different speeds. You’ll obviously suck going back and forth between the games because your playstyle has already adjusted to a set speed after playing it for so long.
Once you play more of it(or in your case “stop sucking”) you’ll get used to it and will be able to play the damn game at the level you play at.
It’s just like T5:DR for the PSP. That shit plays a bit faster on the PSP than it does in the arcade. I went to CF to play and the game much slower than the PSP version. After playing for a bit I got used to the arcade speed setting once again.
Also, TTT>T5:DR. The game was much more fun and it’s the only time you’ll ever get to use two chars on one team.
MOC in the right hands were pretty ridiculous. Even top level Korean play at the time you’d only see a handful of mid tiers winning like Lei, Hwoarng, etc. against it. For the most part people just tried emulating the two Jangs.
Any char being able to win is only true of T3 and DR. Certainly not TTT.
And yeah, TTT is still good. Pair Play is the shit!
