No more than any other SFII really…
Finally, I can dp consistently. Can’t freakin wait!!
I think the real question is when Capcom is going to drop STHD into our hands so we can play it. :X
I hope not. I likes me my comp
Actually, the way HF went down was funny. The very first day, there were actually quite a few really good players on there, along with a bunch of people who had no idea what they were doing. But most of the really good players quit playing it pretty quickly because of the lag and the exploits in ranked matches. It took a while for the current regulars on there to come together.
With HD, the net code should be worlds better. And it’s a game that’s sure to show up next Evo. So, I’m sure a lot of the good players will stick around.
As for the noobs, I think they may be more likely to stick around for this than with HF. For one, it’s harder to land touch of death combos. That alone, should make the matches feel less brutal. I also think that the difficulty level of single player will be a factor. Hopefully the picked the easier AI version and/or made it less retarded.
PS: If we want the community for this game to grow, then we can make a difference. When someone starts whining about whatever tactic you used to beat them down with, avoid your instinct to mock them. Instead, educate them about how to handle it and help them become less noob-ish
n00bs like to jump, enough said.
I agree with helping the community grow. Instead of bashing them, teach them what they’re doing wrong. Pretty soon you might have a little competition if they’re willing to learn.
I think people’s skill levels will grow even moreso with the expanded player match rooms and enhanced training mode. If you feel like you’re not up to par you can always observe and learn from better players through spectating online. Then you can practice the stuff you saw and found interesting in the training mode. Sure people will still have to put effort into getting better, but now some of the more beneficial learning tools are accessible in the game itself in case those people are too lazy to search for it on the internet like before.
Same. Pablo said it all. I am looking forward to a month or two of shear rape against scrubs before they either wise up or go back to DOA.
Some of the comments… :looney:
Word But for me it would be with T-Hawk.
I see what you did there… Nice! Would rep you if i could.
This.
Personally I dont care wether or not scrubs play play/drop this after a few months. i’ll be owning fools with charge characters(Dee Jay, Guile, Boxer), that’s all i know. The real question for me is, did they fix the timing to execute a :dp: :hp:?
Cause the timing on SFAC is really HORRIBLE. Maybe its because I paly with the X-box pad and not a arcade stick… :wonder:
Well, noobs tend to drop every fighter quickly. XBLA games tend to have the playerbase drop really quickly.
I’m not too worried as long as there is a core of players that I can compete against and not get blown out, but not win without effort.
What would help is a mechanism to keep us away from the noobs, until a noob starts beating the other noobs, and advances to intermediate. That’s when players need to be exposed to cheese- to see if they can overcome it.
Yes–they will drop it quickly because you have to learn how to play the game to have fun with it and people think that mashing buttons in ignorance and fapping about a storyline no one cares about is “fun”.
All Im going to say is im going to make someone rage quit with my Guile that is all.
yeah this is all i really care about
im a total noob to some people, and strangely enough some people are total noobs to me
games where you can have fun at any skill level tend to do better than the ones where its only fun if youre a “good player”. i can think of some games which are like that.
not a flame or directed at anyone in particular, but i never really understood the fascination with beasting some guy so hard he quits the game. so…now your game is less popular (by 1, but still) and you have fewer people to play against. yay?
Sometimes people are going to quit a game no matter what. If players have a base of early success they are more likely to keep at it.
Also, people are more likely to quit if they face a huge experience hole- this is why games like GG/3S don’t get many new players.
to quote the latest update in regards to T. Hawk on capcom’s blog:
sirlin done fucked up cause it’s gonna be safe jump cyclones all day on noobs.
Up until now I always just figured “Bahh whatever, who cares about single player,” but wow this is actually a pretty good point. A lot of beginner players from the console era start off learning their shit against the computer.
Ahaha this is awesome you are awesome
I’m gonna do the same shit, except ill be using Ken’s Knee Bash.:wgrin: I gonna keep a tab on how many scrubs cuss me out. My estimate is about 50.:lovin:
Tick throwing will not be as powerful in this. The worst traps were nerfed (knee bash damage was nerfed still right?), and reversals will be easier.
