The sad thing is that many people aren’t able to recognize the glaring faults of Rob’s art due to plain ignorance. They would realize once someone else points them out. And that is why he continues to get work. 
There’s another thing that’s sad.
He just “designed” them, he didn’t give them personality. It was the writers that really made the characters. Scott Lobdell and Fabian Nicieza don’t get enough credits. Just look at any Liefeld drawing of Deadpool and you’ll see that it shows none of his personality (even with the mask off, Rob can only draw clenched-teeth Jack Palance look anyway)
that is why fabian is one of the best writers ever. he took dp and gave him personality, while liefeld gave him pouches

I’m not a snob like most of the posters in this thread so I’ll admit that I liked his artwork in New Mutants and X-Force. I thought it was cool and so did a lot of other people back then. It’s when the Youngblood characters looked almost exactly the same is when he ran into problems.He shouldn’t write though. His Captain America and Avengers comics in Heroes Reborn were probably the nail in the coffin. Both of those were terrible.
Wow this is some really bad art. A good article though, it had me lolling at times. There’s no reason this guy should be getting paid for being that lazy, it’s people like him that give people like me the impression that they can coast through life without any responsibilities/repercussions.

Sorta how I feel. comics are an escape from reality, so I’m not huing up on it being z0mg accurate. do I love great art? Yes…I can look at Liam sharp drawings all day, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy those old X-Force comics and wanted to get Youngbloods.
