Django Unchained : How many times can we use the word "nigga" thread

So in fact, Tarintino is making the movie black directors CAN’T make because of hollywood racism. Nobody wants to put a black hero killing white villains on stage period. Even with another white guy helping out.

But anyways lol at hipster points…and double lol at this dude flipping on Scorsese

Let spike lee walk into a boardroom meeting saying yo I wanna make a ww2 movie where the black soldiers get revenge and kill all the white soldiers who mistreat them. That nigga will lose EVERYTHING he won’t ever produce a film again in Hollywood .You saw how they went after his head over miracle at st Anne and that shit was no different than any other war movie .

Lol, I agree, I’m not one sided. I was addressing the movie space cadet. Did you miss the part where I said the same for Asians in Kill Bill? I can’t address every single thing. If this movie was the other way around, I’d say similar things.

Edit: BTW I liked Django. I was giving my take on the thread title in reference to the movie. I’m not butthurt about anything with the film. Just calling it like I see it.

Nigga I hope Martin Scorsese gets a restraining order on yo ass.

Because this is the WWE PG Era

Nigga is the slang way of saying nigger, just like fucka is the slang way of saying fucker.

80 times, give or take.

Probably one of my favorite Tarantino movies next to Kill Bill. As usual, it’s an homage to a genre of film used to present their old ideas in a new light. And as usual, it’s marked with all of the Tarantino quirks (exposition of a woman’s feet, dramatic zoomins, and slipping that girl in with the slave drivers for no apparent purpose. Probably some unexplainable Tarantino symbolism since he likes that. Lest we forget a splatterhouse showdown, since it’s not Tarantino without a splatterhouse), for better or for worse. Still very enjoyable, though. Also characteristic of Tarantino is some pretty straightforward symbolism

Spoiler

Training on the mountain to be reborn in Winter to be reborn as a new man in Spring. Yeah yeah

and some commentary on theater because Tarantino has a fetish for theater

Spoiler

The concept of playing a character not only forces Django to make decisions that go against what he believes in, like letting the slave get ripped apart by dogs to maintain his cover, as well as race being a social character that must be played properly by its actors. Maybe this ties into the overall genre of Blaxploitation, too, since it had to put on a certain face to appeal to its target audience.

As for Tarantino himself… I try not to let how he acts in interviews color my perception on his films. He’s a weird guy who likes to hear himself talk (which admittedly does show in his movies). But that doesn’t stop him from making some great films.

Why, for telling the truth? He has nothing to worry about with me, I’m not crazy. Just calling his ass out.

Wait wasn’t Miracle on St Anna a piece of shit?

Except it wasn’t. All of Tarantino’s attempts at historical portrayal are completely undermined by the premise of the movie. Django’s story serves as a feel good distraction that allows movie-goers to tolerate and partially ignore everything else presented in the movie for the sake of entertainment. My problem with the movie isn’t the use of the N word; it’s the romanticized central story that detracts from the serious topic solely for the purpose of making a morbid and taboo subject entertaining, while simultaneously bringing absolutely nothing of value to the discussion table. “Slavery was BAD! BAD, BAD, BAD!” Is there anyone who went into the movie thinking slavery was good? If his desire was to bring attention to the dark period in American History as he has stated, I would think the approach would have been more rooted in actual history. Dangerfield Newby was a real life Django who got shot in the throat trying to save his wife. The movie couldn’t take this route because America needs to see the black man win in order to offset the other depictions in the movie. This movie is about as historically apt as a John Wayne western, which undermines his intent and lessens the impact of the subject matter. No one is leaving the theater discussing the harsh realities of slavery as he intended; they’re talking about how awesome it is to watch Django kill white people, or complaining about the use of the word “nigger” which overshadows his intent. There were actual slave uprisings he could have depicted, but again, they wouldn’t allow people to feel good about the protagonist. I don’t fault people for liking the film, but as a director Tarantino failed IMO.

movie was aight. nowhere near as good as his classics but it satisfied me to the point of enjoyment. the doctor and old burnt sam jackson were prolly my two fav.

So anyway, after making 35 mil so far, ppl are saying this might have a shot at being his number one flick so far, if it can beat out the likes of Pulp Fiction. Also anyone wonder how this movie would have turned out if they had either Costner or Kurt Russell in it as the Mandingo Trainer. It’s a long fucking movie for sure but I still want to see the uncut footage. No homo…

Edit:

This dude lol.

So how was the violence of slavery or the cruelty of plantation owners not real?

Of course this movie wasn’t extremely accurate but it did do a good job of showing some of the brutality if only for a few scenes.

Yeah Tarantino kinda put his foot in his mouth talking smack about Roots BUT on the other hand Spike Lee really needs to stfu especially if he ain’t seeing the movie. I do feel there are some Hollywood politics at play as to who could direct this and QT has that box office draw to make money. The closest black director that could’ve done Django is John Singleton. At least his movies rake in money as well. I’ve read some articles from black writers that broke down the movie and they made some valid criticisms but still liked the movie. I’ve seen others who refused to watch the movie based off reading the script that popped up online before the movie came out.

Some of his movies are flat out terrible. You take a survey or something nigga?

Lol what a faggot, that shit still cuts deep for those long enough to remember what the word originally was. But hey they’re old and who cares anyway.

cry more plz

Crying=/=rational thought son.

Best explanation for why that scene belongs in this movie.

"And it’s not just comedy for comedy’s sake, though I’d still respect it if it was. When we look back at history, we tend to put evil up on this pedestal in a way that unfairly flatters people like Adolf Hitler and the proverbial Jim Crow. We remember that they’re evil, but forget that most of them were fcking clowns. The Third Reich was a farce – half the reason it even succeeded as much as it did was that people thought Hitler and his buddies were such inept jackasses that his government would collapse on its own if they just waited it out. In the same way, the Antebellum South was a backwards, funhouse-mirror imitation of European aristocracy, which was already unbelievably fcking silly in its own right, as only men wearing powdered wigs and painting moles on their faces could be. To rip Tarantino for pulling evil down from its dignified pedestal is absolutely wrong-headed from a political perspective, and even more wronger from the perspective of entertainment (because, and try to follow my argument here… it’s f*cking funny). The entire scene of Jonah Hill and his proto-Klan buddies trying to decide whether to wear hoods for a terror attack is just magical. The longer it goes on, the funnier it gets.

That scene was PERFECT for this film. Removing it would’ve done nothing but make it worse.

And if you’re talking about the Rick Ross and John Legend songs, they were specifically composed for the movie.
But hey, good try 'ol girl.

Rational thought of a 16 year old who lets “mean words” hurt their feelings=crying

You can call me a faggot but saying nigga/nigger is unforgivable? How about this, you sir are a NiggerFaggot.

I will pay the premium upgrade for you if you let me change your name to that.

EDIT: forgot to dot the “i” on “NiggerFaggot”
