Django Unchained : How many times can we use the word "nigga" thread

Just got back from the theaters… quite disappointed to not see a thread. SRK fam be dropping the ball these days :coffee:

Anyways, this movie was amaaaaaaaaazing. Probably my favorite movie this year. Shit was just so badass.

Shit had me rolling when the nigga suited up looking like Napoleon and shit

Dont care too much for Tarentino, will check this out when it hits Netflix

One of my boy’s went to see it and your thread title say’s it all…

I can’t co sign it.

This movie was pretty damn good. I did laugh and roll my eyes a bit when I saw some people leave the theatre like 15 minutes into the movie. Guess they couldn’t take the slavery setting.

That movie hat denzel washington got an academy award for had the same shit, why are people such pussies?

Yeah cause it’s so awesome to watch vile and wicked things happen.

You’re what’s wrong with this generation of children.

Don’t you have an anime to masturbate to, pussy?

It’s the fact that a white director made this movie that had the use of the N word multiple times that has people’s panties in a bunch.

White people advocating the use of racial slurs? Cool bro.

Ugh, I wish more people had an IQ above the North American average of 98.

I must see this movie.

Pffft. This very same movie that has white people saying “nigger” is also the same movie that has a black dude killing shit loads of white people. And with that being said, this movie is fucking amazing. It’s like Machete for black people!!

Movie is just another excuse for your everyday white person to use the word.

Movie was fucking amazing.
Ya’ll need to stop bitching.

This is my new favorite movie.

The KKK scene had me dying.

What upsets me about this bitching is that there are black people complaining(i’m black by the way) when this movie is literally about a black man teaming up with a not racist white man, killing a bunch of white people, freeing some slaves, and over coming slavery and racism.

It would be at least somewhat justifiable if the movie was about Samuel Jackson’s character and not a black bad ass.

What really sucks is that Tarantino doesn’t do sequels/prequels, which is both good and bad but I really want to see some more Django.

You are a dumbass, plain and simple. You see it as advocating the use of racial slurs, most normal people see it as sticking to historical truths.

And yes, watching vile and wicked things happen is pretty awesome. Vile and wicked things such as a man going through all the levels of hell just to save his sweetheart. Humans have always loved that shit, from the arenas to entertainment industry today, a deep seated yet oft repressed love of viewing vile and wicked things is ingrained in us. Can’t fight thousands of years of evolution.

Now, I politely invite your liberal, tree-hugging hippie ass to forsake this thread as the rest of us parley about the movie like gentlemen :coffee:

Slight of hand gets us as black folk all the time.

As long as its entertaining I guess…

I don’t know how to say this but like, are the characters set apart into right and wrong? Bad guy, good guy thing? Or is it more shades of gray, different degrees of guilt? I enjoy movies without a true protagonist or antagonist, and I may have had a vibe from the trailer of it.

Django and the Doc are light gray, most everyone else is pretty bad except the slaves.

I have to say the dog scene and the mandigo fighting scene were two of the most fucked up scenes i’ve ever seen in movies.

I loved Samuel L Jackson as Uncle Rukus. Haha.

Nah man, If I want to see historical truths I’ll watch Roots and or something of the like.

Nah man, if you like the whole vile, wicked, torture thing great, but don’t put that on all humans…

QT drops the N word and or calls black people monkeys and or stupid in 95% of his movies. It’s clear he has some kind of fascination with black people… When I read recently that he only wanted to do one super hero movie back in the day and it was Luke Cage I had to roll my eyes.

again this does nothing to raise awareness, and not that it should… its a action movie tbh. Its a freaking western about a bounty hunting slave. There are black people that where born in 1930-till that if sat in front of this movie would probably just cry.

inglorious bastards was handled with much more tack than this from what I’m hearing… No surprise there honestly.

Quentin Tarantino’s thought process for making a movie:

“I feel like making a movie, I wonder what I should do it on… Oh I know I grew up in the 70s, so I know how cool black people can be. I’ll do something with black people. Hmm… I have to bring some sort of ‘legitimacy’ to my movie. I know, I’ll put in some racial tension, cause you know we need to get over our racial barriers, and break down stereotypes because this racism stuff is stupid, and I should know because I grew up watching blaxploitation movies in the 70s, so I know how cool black people can be. Hmm… how to introduce racial tension?.. I KNOW I’ll just have everyone say nigger a lot. That’ll shock people and shake things up, it may even start a dialogue** all because of MY movie!** Also it’s cool for me to do that because I get a pass. I know I get a pass because I grew up watching blaxploitation movies in the 70s, and that’s what made me want to make movies, and I still listen to music made in the 70s by black people, so I know how cool black people can be.”
