Finally saw the movie.
And unless you’re a complete wuss, there’s no reason to not see this movie.
Unless you’re a wuss.
Or hate QT.

I don’t see a problem here.
At first my thoughts on Michael Jai White were “He’s a pretty cool guy I guess”
Then I saw Black Dynamite(and again with commentary) and I was all like “This guy is fucking awesome”.
The only two acceptable reasons to not see this movie are either Quentin Tarantino raped and murdered your family or you’re deathly allergic to the word nigger/nigga.
Seeing this movie and being mad cuz they use the word “nigga and/or nigger” is like sleeping with a prositute and being mad cuz you got the clap…just sayin…if anything, i’d be mad they didn’t use those words…for accuracies sake…
I coulda swore the title for this movie was just
NIGGA UNCHAINED.

Also, are there any foot fetish shots in this film? QT has a serious foot fetish.
The asian wife & i decided to watch this for our 10year anniversary…Im a big fan of westerns & the original Django was a pretty decent spaghetti campy action flick…For those who have seen the movie he actually makes a cameo in the film, you can spot him during mandigo fight scene afterwards talking with Jamie Fox character…
Anyway, I was a bit hesitant to watch this, as i saw a TV episode of the Jamie Fox show of him being the same gun slinger…I was just waiting for him throughout the whole film to start doing Jamie so Crazy moment…It was actually quite a distraction but he was decent in his role…Christopher Waltz character was by far the main reason to watch this film & damn Samuel Jackson was hilariously most fucked up character i’ve seen in film. He will make you rage & laugh at the same time!
Movie didn’t feel like a 3 hour film & was actually really good pacing until the ending & then another ending…Someone mention the handshake should have been the end of the movie which i totally agree. I dont mind a bunch of white people getting shot up but they should have just wrapped it up.
As for the audience we went into, pretty much all were white people 50+ years old…It was hilarious seeing old white people cheering for white people get shot up haha.

I saw this movie opening day and loved it, by far one of the top 3 most entertaining movies in 2012. A tad predictable and classic Tarantino but that didn’t take away too much from how much I liked it. It dragged a bit at parts at a very long 2 hours and 45 minutes but basically everyone in my audience loved it.

Far more detractors were complaining about Tarantino turning slavery into a Blazing saddles/Fistful of dollars mashup.
Ok as people who have seen the movie is it pre kill bill or post kill bill QT? Kill Bill was good not great but good but it seems like that movie was the begining of the end of his good movies.
As for the dialouge if rapist is the term used in the plot and is relevant I don’t care. If it’s for the sake of using it and the dialougue doesn’t flow then it’s bad writing and irrelevant.
And yes it has been documented Spike Lee is a racist and has an axe to grind against QT. I think he’s just mad that QT is more relevant than Spike has been in awhile.

Not even remotely close to the same thing.
Those people didn’t see the damn movie, those slaves were being treated like slaves, less than human, horribly, the only slaves that actually do anything important or awesome in the film are Broomhilda, Stephen, and of course Django, and by the end of it all three of them are no longer slaves.
I don’t think it’s as cut and dry as Spike being racist. He’s just mad he couldn’t make this movie.
Spike got shit for Do The Right Thing, Jungle Fever, and Bamboozled. Mainstream (White) audiences already pegged him as a militant type dude. He cares A LOT about what critics and people think about him.
Spike just doesn’t have the balls for this and I don’t think he would’ve pulled it off the same way. Tarantino’s just keeping it genre, if anything his theme of these past 3 movies he’s done is just in retaliation to every movie done when he was a kid. You don’t have to be a minority to wonder about the people that got shat on in the “golden age of cinema.”
QT has my respect.

There, I just made Marvel like 300 million opening weekend. The HfH movie would need to be a little funny too and those guys can crack jokes with the best of them.
The movie would make a shit load of money. Why does the white person have to know how to fight? He is just going to memorize choreography anyway.
I also saw the new mandarin yesterday and was like “He looked pretty mandarin’y to me” But then again it was like for 3 seconds and I was zoned out waiting for my mooooovie to start.
